IMO : Supreme Court vote will be 7-2 in Trumps favor: -President is not above the law but he is protected from the law until Congress says he is not. The president gets 100% immunity while in office. It’s absolute unless Congress decides otherwise. DOJ cannot intervene until Congress impeaches or in the case of an ex-President ; Congress can vote to remove entitlements thus opening him up to DOJ . Otherwise the President is protected from radical indictments. - Congress has oversight powers: there cannot be a determination of official acts by anyone other than Congress/Senate. All acts are presidential, even aka possible crimes. That said it’s Congress job as elected representatives of the people to do their job. Congress can remove a president or remove entitlements from an ex president; not DOJ. - There cannot be any decision on official presidential acts unless Congress decides to do that oversight. DOJ can not intervene regardless of that they think it’s a crime. That’s how the government works. It’s not above the law it’s following the constitution. - Even if a president committed a crime at the last minute, he can be adjudicated by Congress and Senate by his entitlement being taken away if there’s no time for an impeachment . After his entitlement are removed, DOJ can take over and do the indictment, but until then the DOJ has no power over a president or an ex president.
Talk about living in a bubble. The same people who were cheerleading disasters like the Iraq war think Biden needs to support Israel harder? This whole relationship with Israel is perverse beyond belief but these guys think its GREAT. Because everything they've supported has worked out brilliantly in the past.

Only 10 minutes in and I’ve stopped listening. I’m sorry but you have to either be extremely naive or not intelligent enough to think there was a chance his wife didn’t know what it meant. This effort to be “balanced” fails to point out the ludicrousness of their arguments. It’s ok to see things from both sides but that was cringe.
Great interview. If journalism is the first draft of history, is it time this country moved on to the second draft to assess 2014-2024 against the larger backdrop of US history. Could you have a program in which you interview several historians to begin to assess the last decade with BLM, woke, anti-racism, etc.? Could they examine whether this period is a common pattern with variations? For example, Mr. Packer mentioned the disillusionment with Obama's more perfect race relations that was shattered with Trayvon Martin's death. Could this disillusionment be compared to that of 1968 and the Tet Offensive and LBJs "lies"? Are there other periods we can assess in conjunction with BLM: Know-nothingism, Labor movement, Progressivism, McCarthyism, etc.? In short what can we learn about the US based on the last decade and BLM?
I am so ducking sick of the person who ran Carly Fiorino’s campaign, a campaign based on hating Hillary the most. The person who was the spokesperson for Trump’s DoJ and tried to spike the Mueller investigation, then lied about the Mueller investigation and the Hur report acting as though Alito and Thomas aren’t blatantly partisan actors. She’s not stupid, so she’s malicious. I may disagree with David. But French-y is honest.
This was during COVID... Whether or not you believe in distasteful free speech, there were no kids at the bus stop on 1/6/21. And if Mrs. Alito did this, she is super online. Her conduct is the evidence
Perhaps Alito and his wife did not know flying the flag upside down was showing support for the January 6th insurrection. Another explanation was that Mrs. Alito was so upset with her neighbor she became temporarily insane. She might have thought her house was a sinking ship and flew a distress flag hoping for a rescue. In a semi-related article, Alito sold his Bud light stock and bought Coors. The Bud light stock boycott was called by Libs of Tiktok because Bud light did some marketing with a trans person. Coors has a very, very conservative political image. It seems someone in the Alito household is very online. Supreme Court justices should not own individual stocks. Index funds are better investments without recusal requirements. This isn't a partisan issue. Justice Breyer took part in a case (Johnson Controls) where his wife owned stock. Normally even when I disagree with Sarah, I have to admit she has a rational basis for her belief. Several times she has changed my mind. Not admitting the Alitos knew they were sending a pro-insurrection message was pure partisan brain.
The person who lied about the Mueller and Hur reports has partisan brain? Shocking. Going to listen to the Strict Scrutiny and Boom Lawyered podcasts. They are partisans, but they don’t lie.
