Maybe a stupid question, but i'm really wondering if this music is really from the eighties? Sounds like it, but i'm not sure. Never heard of kristine before a few months ago. Love her music!
Italo-Disco had become very popular in Europe just as America was (foolishly) revolting against the disco of the 70's. Italio-Disco reached its height in popularity throughout the 80's and went on well into the 90's and today. It retained much of the classic synth sounds that were popular and well loved in 80's pop music. Italo-Disco is a genre of music that uses lots of synths with disco beats, so naturally it sounds like the 1980's just as Classical Music sounds like the 1780's. Cool eh?
Thanks for the look back at this tune from my 1987 Geffen record. It sounds great on Kristine! Please check out my new CD entitled "Blues For My Father." Great blues jams. Also go to my website www.vaneesethomas,com and sign petition to get my dad Rufus Thomas into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Long overdue!
