Bought the kit version. I popped the switch out of the heavy rubber holder, flipped it, then wired it accordingly so it is oriented correctly. Probably would've missed that if not for your vid. Thanks! I bought a bunch of different tips. The one you have is the crappiest of the bunch. All the rest are more useful for what I do. Not sure why your display is dim. Mine is quite bright. I guess the little fuse on the PCB isn't an dobble fuse but one used if mains is connected via the (unpopulated) socket right next to it. Maby something used when this PCB and an companion Hot-Air gun PCB are placed in a common chassis. Would explain the desolder options in the menu.

got mine directly from the official ksger store on aliexpress, had to wait a few weeks before I could use it. unfortunately, it was pretty much DOA and cant make a dispute as its too late. i have contacted them with no response. The station just keeps on power cycling when u plug in the iron. I saw another video with a similar issue so I've bought another t12 iron hoping that will fix it. the station itself seems glitchy as sometimes it freezes and i have to manually restart it. I've double checked all the wires inside the station and the iron and nothing seems to be out of place. anyone have any ideas? Would love to get this thing to work.

I believe some of the early models had QC issues with some displays being really weak, made much worse by a *heavily* smoked piece of plexi in front of the display. If you end one of those, you can improve it by removing the smoked glass alltogether or replacing it with a clear piece.

It has been my experience that the more complicated or tool is the shorter its lifespan. So an old school soldering iron with nothing but a Transformer and a thermistor would last virtually forever. This one, I don't think will last quite as well. And not because it's not well built, but just because it has become overly complicated.

Unless the device is switched on all the time, the battery is completely flat within 10 days. I have replaced 4 batteries, each one of the was completely empty in 7-10 days. Now I keep the device switched on 24/7. I know that no power from CR2032 is leaking towards the power supply board, I haven't tested if it's leaking to the tip (it was connected the whole time while power was off).

@pr0xZen
@pr0xZen 4 года назад
@@georgechambers3197 Even as a multidecade user of something known, I highly advise giving these a spin. The cartridge type tips really make a world of difference. The biggest root cause is the heating element and temp sensor being all the way up in there, right at the business end - so it's not just that it warms up in just a tiny handful of seconds. But when soldering something big / with a lot of thermal mass, the station know heat is draining instantly, and responds equally quick. And the chinese/taiwanese copycat cartrige tips have gotten _really_ good the last year or two. For the price, IMO it's worth a spin. Never thought I'd retire my old trusty iron, but I'm now very glad my colleague convinced me to try this thing out.

learnelectronics - Please measure the rods used within. I paid for one of these 2 months ago (still waiting for it but it's supposedly only 23 days away) and have seen many offers/discounts/coupons for the rod/tip device used by these... But I was never able to order any of them because KSGER doesn't tell you what the included T12 units sizes are. It is arriving with a chisel tip, but I most often solder SMD devices like resistors so I need an extremely fine tip! I haven't been able to take advantage of any discounts of advantage because I cannot get an answer for the size of the rod/tips used by this. So long as the units I buy are standard 10k ohm units I have little to fear as changing a few wires is no problem at all.

Very good soldering station after a month and half wait to get it. Banggood was a bit sketchy on what was in stock saying it was when it was not. I had to threaten them with a complaint via PayPal and it miraculously showed up very quick. Other than crappy shipment time I like it a lot. Bought two genuine Hakko t12 tips, a dL 32 and a dL 52 and they work great with it. Bought the 12 tip package from Banggood too, ok, but not as nice as the Hakko tips. So far it handles some heavy point to point stuff I’ve used it on. The boost feature is killer when you need a little extra. Make sure you jam the tips down quite hard or it will error quite regularly. I took my handle apart and sanded that schmoo that seems to be on all this Chinisium metal that doesn’t make good electrical connections. Tip heat correction that stores for each tip is great. Seems to repeat the heat from one tip to the other once calibrated.

Are you a manufacturer? Don't High Frequency stations use tips that only work at one temperature? Which High Frequency station do you recommend? Thanks.

Cold = cod. Sold = sod. Gold = God. Yes ? No ? Solder has an 'L' in it.

Banggood was the absolute worse knockoff Chinese online store I've used. Ever. Should absolutely be your LAST resort to buy anything from them.

I love your videos; please do not stop. For what it is worth, I pulled the cover off my KSGER unit and found the 400V, 68mf capacitor leaking; I just ordered a replacement capacitor. I had not used the station more than 20 minutes. I had seen another video of someone with the same 400V, 68mf capacitor leaking. Someone wrote on that site they thought KSGER was installing used capacitors in some units. The units offer phenomenal bang for the buck - when they work properly. If you buy one of these stations, I recommend taking the cover off and doing a brief inspection after you run the station for a few minutes. (In the case of the other videographer, he saw magic smoke coming out almost immediately after powering up the unit, and he shut off the station. Upon inspection, it appeared the capacitor had been punctured. Here is a link to his video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cowgbwU3b5c.html With that said, I am still happy with my purchase (from Banggood).

In the US we definitely like up to be on. Just like the toilet paper, we think up over is the correct way. :)
