@@username1694 watch the dev interview video, the devs are clueless about multiplayer right now. the multiplayer promises are basically like no mans sky's multiplayer promises. they will give you vague answers that means nothing. they might focus on that years later like NMS did but right now, it's a pipe dream.

this game had been dead when devs decided to use old engine. There is no point to develop KSP2, if it uses the same engine as KSP1. And I dont see how this game is suposed to become better

I'd support them by getting into early access if a) my laptop wasn't already a potato wrt Kerbal 1 loadtimes, and b) it just looks soooo not ready for primetime yet. Sorry, just my opinion. If it gets more solid in a couple months, I'll get in and just wait til I've upgraded my computer.

Waffle on Twitch got it from just making a small ion drive probe that ran out of power and then accelerated to 66000 M/S without any power and then Put the the KSC into space. and then later made a copy of the KSC at an 90` angle over the original position. could still launch thing tho at that angle XD

100%. This is what I’m saying. If you want to release an early alpha, sure. But price it accordingly. And don’t tell me it is about money when they fly all the RU-vidrs out to Europe just to generate buzz. They could have held a closed alpha and had people bug test. Reddit already has a mega thread for bugs.

I agree. If you look at other games that fit into this price bracket, they are polished, complete and content rich. If they wanted to launch it in Early-access, then it should be priced accordingly. That way, feedback is more likely account for the state of development. The way they have gone about it has really soured opinions and will take a great deal of work to rectify.

The only thing that deserves bashing, is the portion of the community who still, after more than a DECADE, still doesn't comprehend what Early Access Alpha/Beta versions of games means. We're still stuck with hundreds and thousands of people buying a game to play, that's literally advertised as "WARNING!!! PROBLEMS!!!", who think Early Access content is a valid excuse to down rate an early access game, because their own personal definition of what they want Early Access to mean, doesn't mesh with reality. Well boo hoo EA Karens. EA is designed SOLELY for people who want to participate in active development, and who understand they're not always receiving a version of the game that feels polished, has completed features, or even runs worth a damn. People need to stop going to the Early Access portion of STEAM, when they want a new game to play and have fun with. Especially on day 1 of early access. For the people who actually matter in this, the ones who actively take part in helping development, we read every negative comment and bad review as "Hi, I'm a fucking idiot who doesn't understand Early Access and who wasn't going to help with development anyways." Your opinions are worthless. The game is only receiving a mixed review currently, because the same reason some high school kids think the largest city in the world is "Asia". They're fucking idiots, and they've been lied to when they were told they matter and their opinions are just as valid as everyone else's. Steam needs a fix. Completely disable the rating and review ability on EA titles, for at least 30 days from release. That way, developers have a good, reasonable 4 weeks to roll out patches and hot fixes to address any major issue discovered at launch. And do NOT allow, under any circumstances, anyone to review a game period who has less than 20 hours play time. The majority of negative KSP2 reviews are by people with 0.2 hours, 90% of which not only didn't read the Early Access description, but didn't read the minimum fucking requirements to run the game. My God I hate children.

@@skydriver5709 Exactly! I wish I could like your comments 1,000 times. The game is literally labeled as early access and the developers have made it clear that there would be plenty of bugs. People are so stupid and think “oh early access, the game has to have all the features in it right now.” And the idiots that complain about the money aren’t forced to buy it or anything so why are they even complaining? The only thing to complain about for the game is the system requirements but that is gonna get resolved throughout early access and the features will be added so there is no reason to complain. I feel bad for developers considering they have such a brainless market to satisfy.

There’s really a *very* simple solution for not thinking something is currently buying at it’s currently offered price. Don’t. That’s literally it. If you don’t think something is currently worth buying, don’t buy it. I really don’t get what it is about such a simple and obvious concept that confuses so many people.

They didn't want to, they were forced to buy take two I think, they wanted to launch in the financial year of 2022, it ends on March 1st. They didn't want to.

​​@@readmore7180 It's an excuse because all the progress you had made on the game is left in the studio you worked in before the lockdown. Sure, you may have a PC at home, but not the required files. And let's not talk about hardware - you don't have the hardware to test the game. There are also other problems like coordination difficulties. But still, these guys had 2 years and a half outside the pandemic. It was a curse for many projects that came right after 2020, but not so valid for this one.

When i built my pc 6 months ago i did it specifically to get ready for KSP2... much like the state of this game, that was a complete failure

As you should. Early Access development is really intended for the portion of the community that wants to play, test and help identify issues for the benefit of development. People who just want to play the games that other people have fixed, really should wait until 1.0. EA is basically an announcement for a party at 6pm... but it's 1pm and you want to show up early and help set up the party. Nobody who shows up to help wants to hear the people standing around, bitching that the party isn't ready... and that's really how every negative review for EA games is received by the ones who actually do the work.

@@skydriver5709 Could not agree more. Stream clearly states that EA games are "unfinished" games that are in ALPHA or BETA phase. Anyone that is looking for something to just "play" right now has come the to wrong place. This EA is for people who actually want to find bugs, have performance problems and intentional try to break the game. It is not supposed to be fun right now, it is supposed to be a trainwreck, that is what the EA is for.

@@TheDainerss The community with regards to Early Access will never improve. Steam needs to crack down and help early developers by at least suspending the rating and review system for 30 days after launch. This would give developers a good 4 weeks to roll out some patches and hot fixes to deal with any major problems reported at launch, and also show their ability and willingness to quickly attend to those issues by reacting within a reasonable time frame. Days/weeks. Not months. THEN let people rate the game, because 90% of the day 1 complaints would be fixed, and the developer would also have their attention to the game and community to add to their credit. And if people really just want to cry and blast their inability to comprehend the concept of Early Access, let them go cry on Reddit.

@@skydriver5709 Why would you pay nearly full price for a game published by the world's third largest game publisher, that isn't even remotely finished? Early access makes sense when it's a small indie developer but Take Two own the publishing rights to _the single most profitable piece of media in human history_ - they've got the money to do their own QA. You don't need paying customers to tell you what the issues with KSP2 are - they're blatantly obvious to everyone, including the dev team.

The devs seem very open to communication and community feedback, which is good, but does not justify the insane price tag for what you are getting. Rn I think it's not worth it, and it will probably take a bunch of years for them to get the game to the level that KSP1 is at (I mean in terms of magnitude, not content). Also hoping by that time PC components are cheaper, I don't know much about the topic, but I get the general feeling that big title games these days require more and more while components don't advance as fast

I'm having no issues. Playing it at this moment. Already landed 2 cans on Mun and 1 on minmus. AMD RX6900XT, Ryzen 7 3700X, 32gb memory, 1440p with stable 60-70fps. I'm not quite sure how I've managed to play an "unplayable" game for the last 2 and a half hours without a single game breaking bug or crash.

@@skydriver5709 yeah I have a crap pc(Intel Core I5 10300H, 32 gb ddr4 ram, and a GTX 1650) and the game has been fine even on high settings, 10-20 fps at launch but 25-50 fps while in space.

the main issue right now is the poor optimization of the physics engine.

Scott Manley doesn't have a NASA PC either and he's running the game at a good framerate.

I got ksp the day they added the SPH and it ran beautifully on a 2013 macbook. This is way worse it’s running like this on purpose built streaming pc. I’ll just keep waiting till interstellar but to delay the game 3 years and release this is not a great sign of progress

​@@lilkris3008 something fucky seems to have happened with the development process. It looks to me like they decided to start KSP 2 from scratch, rather than building off KSP1, but then they were running out of money before finishing the project, and so they decided to start over again and build it off of KSP 1 instead of from scratch. Leading to an "over promise under deliver" situation, and a delivered product that is not actually that different from the first one.

@@breadstick4458 yeah but my point is that if the full feature release was scheduled for right at if not a few weeks after lockdown, why would it take 3 years to make up for a few weeks of work? Aren't games supposed to be finished a few months before a full feature launch? AFAIK they did not say they were launching into early access in 2020, that it was a full release, I could be wrong on that but it's what I remember.

@@breadstick4458 I believe a dev said that yeah, no code from ksp1 is carried over to ksp2, one other thing I could see is that development resources were just a leech and maybe the dev team were losing hope and didn't work as hard since they were unsure of their future with the game. I read somewhere that if they didn't go into early access now, it would probably have been shelved, but that's heresay.

I support the general idea of early access, but this is... not the best example of one, especially after 4 years of development with limited information to the public. Still hoping for a gem that KSP2 can become... too bad I might not live that long, considering how much time has already passed since I bought pre-release version of KSP1.

I knew there would be bits of trash here and there... didnt think it would be 1 big dump. The games in early access yes, but at this price point you'd expect a working game that is simply missing features, not whatever this is...
