if they stop letting the homeless in the busses without paying, it will take care of most of the problem. Every time I ride the bus, there are stinky individuals who are clearly under the influence and they think they have the right to yell at anyone or threat someone

@@neeneeb6715I agree with him. It has nothing to do with if we sorry those homelesses or not, because that’s again an other story how people ends up on the streets… many of them do it simply by their own choice… the fact is that if we pay, let we not deal with such situation especially because of those who don’t even pay for the ride. @@neeneeb6715It's not arrogance. It's very much true in many cases, but not all. I've had to move to a different seat because I couldn't stand the smell. I didn't say anything. I just moved. The LA metro system!!!! IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!! The LA metro system always, and we’ll always have extremely violent attacks on their system!!!! We do not have the adequate law enforcement officers to respond in a timely manner, if someone is being attacked on the system!!! The average response time for law enforcement to arrive on the bus is approximately 15 minutes on a good day!!! Metro needs to provide safety messages throughout their system, on loud speakers and panic buttons throughout their system because if you are taking the subway, there is no cellular connection to dial 911!!!!! Metro it’s time to take public safety. Seriously!!! People have lost their lives. And many others have been seriously injured. Enough is enough The metro system has been a shelter for the homeless for many years. It’s time to find a long-term solution!!!

7/11 Tue 11:59 AM - Just took the metro Purple Wilshire/Western station to LA Union Station. Purple Line Wilshire /Western: 1) Nobody behind the the help window, lights out. 2) turnstile open so anyone can pass with no payment 👍🏻 3) sketchy man sprawled out on stairwell, obstructing foot traffic going down to platform with all their personal belongings. I had to climb over him with a bad ankle 4) person sleeping inside metro (1st cart) 5) filthy and smelly cart 6) zero (0) police 👮🏻‍♀️ presence How about start by having a pair of security/officers at each red & purple stations enforcing valid fare at the turnstiles. Enforcing at entrance could significantly deter riff-raff on the two lines that attract it the most because it's platforms are underground and passes through the most central/urban parts of LA. Let's see 🤔 thats about 16 stations and they're saying we can't supply about 32 police /security bodies? Is that too much to ask?😮

Im not even american but been to LA a few times. Easily the WORST public transit i have ever experienced, and the solution is easy. PERMANENT random police checks, kick all the crazies and homeless OUT of metro property. Only one time the police come to check and it was just to check peoples fares down at the end of long beach line. Compared to the countless times ive seen illegal stuff happening there. Last time i went it was a little more than a month ago and used the bus more instead, still, if you take the santa monica bus at midnight its also full of homeless, one man pulled out a knife!!!! These police checks are happening because of the recent expansion opening and the stabbed drivers, wait a few weeks and police will be gone. We know they cant be in all buses, but people who ride the bus daily and of course operators know where and when things get worse. Hell, me being a tourist learned really fast when and where it was not safe to be there. Still, i find RIDICULOUS what happens in one of the most famous and richest city in the world, even mexico city doesnt feel so unsafe like LA, attacks in other cities like mex city or santo domingo do happen, but they are targeted, you can avoid being a victim. In LA (and other cities) these attacks are random, besides targeted attacks also happening. I love LA because its an amazing city, but living there must be stressful AF specially if you use public transit in a daily basis. In mexico city there are permanent police stationed in the biggest stations, why cant LA do the same? Mexico city metro system is huge compared to LA metro!!!

Come on now LA METRO ... Note: You've already got two way communication ... Add CCTV to each bus... then monitor the bus's from a central security location ... Today's cameras don't need to be big and bulky like old CCTV systems ... Digital technology has shrunk the camera size, and increased the recording data size ... Record, Respond, Arrest, and Repeat ... No need for officers on every bus, when a city wide CCTV system can cover it all ... Sure, some officers riding will give that instant visual effect ... But, with properly worded signage and the CCTV system, the word will get out ... For example : Warning ! This entire bus system under 24 hour surveillance ... 24 hour instant response for criminal activity ... 24 hour jail provided for criminals ... Minimum sentence 6 months / Minimum Fine $5000- for assault, robbery, etc.

Shouldn't it be jail time for assault and robbery? Am I in an alternate universe? Anyways the zombies and criminals don't care about fines because only civilized, working people care about fines.

Nah. The people who are still riding the metro regularly (aside from the zombies) tend to be waaaay liberal and /or illegal and don't want the legal hassle of going to court.
