I like how Kubo was just like “oh Senjumaru’s zanpakuto is simple - she literally uses her threads to manipulate reishi in any conceivable way” which is so simply put but SO OP. Especially because she is connected to all reishi in the royal palace - it literally allows her to break the rule of “zanpakuto’s can only have one ability” without ACTUALLY breaking that rule.

Ichigo’s full-mask form needs to make a comeback. It’s super iconic but we never see it anymore.

It really is astounding how much spotlight Senjumaru has gotten thanks to the anime. Which I am all for, given how cool her powers are. Also, the "He's special" answer regarding Uryu has the same energy as the answer "He can do it" when Kubo was asked if Grimmjow could unlock Segunda Etapa, haha!

I had always knew Uryu was slept on. Once the encroachment was revealed that instantly made his part in the arrancar arc more impressive. He stood up to and resisted vasto lorde class arrancars w/o decaying, and he didnt even finish his training w/ Ryuken.

Senjumaru is so OP she can practically take over Soul Society's higher ups without even trying, especially if elements from CFYOW are included. There she expresses tinges of rebellious anger when Ichibei reveals the truth about the King and the treachery the ancestors displayed for their ambitions. But that's the caveat of having such powerful beings about.

I've always somewhat assumed that Uryu is "special" in the sense that he is the opposite (or the "Antithesis") of Jugram. Wheras Jugram is a special Quincy that can only give away his own power without ever receive anything from others, Uryu can receive powers from others without ever being able to have it taken (or given) away. That may be why he is "special" and thus exempt from Yhwach's auswählen.

I actually bought Ichigo’s Hollow Mask, Robe and Zanpakuto at Spirit Halloween a while ago, and they still had them last year. It’s actually really cool to see Bleach merch in a Halloween store.

So after finishing the video, I have a few thoughts about the last part: There’s a chance Uryu always had the powers of the Antithesis on some level like Gerard and the Hand, but just didn’t know how to access them until they were unlocked, empowered, and Named by Yhwach when he gave Uryu his blood. That would explain how he’s special, and maybe him not being poisoned was a side effect or him using it unconsciously to save himself.

One of my favorite aspects of ichihgo is the Revelation that the thing he believes he was scared of was not the thing he believed it was because in truth ichihgo wasn’t fighting an invading force he was fighting with his own soul and the fact that zangetsu toke completely control over him showed how much ichihgo was rejecting his own soul and was always fighting with himself

Yeah the uryu question was really good. I never considered that he had literal contact with two Espadas and didn’t get poisoned😅. I wish they wouldn’t have asked if “uryu was special”

24:21 Innate powers can sometime often partially manifest. We see this in multiple individuals and not just in Quincies either. Haschwalth was passively buffing up Bazz-B bestowing upon him good fortune. His power was fully manifested by Yhwach lending him power through a fragment of his soul. Zanpakuto's work in a similar way, allowing your to manifest the innate power in your soul by imprinting your "essence" onto an Asauichi. Toshiro's power was manifested when he nearly froze his adoptive grandmother.

24:26 isn't it explained that when Yhwach grants a Schrift he isn't making up the power they get just deciding on the letter and it's the soul's potential that shapes it into an actual ability. So some rudimentary form of Antithesis is present in Uryu's soul from the beginning it just gets stronger and more clear after getting the A Schrift.

She is made of the Oken so, she can't rebel against the Soul King Palace. I was more impressed how she was able to heal Oetsu with her stitching

I think the perfect mask-form Ichigo would be quite similar to Sukuna taking over Itadori's body. The horned mask-form would most likely adopt White-Zangetsu's maniacal and savage personality while also retaining enough "Ichigo" and level-headedness to differentiate between friend and foe. An apex predator that overwhelms its orey with brute force, while also being intelligent enough to outsmart its opponents.

i think Ichigoes reluctance to hollowfy, coupled with its incompleteness when he does, and his hesitation in his step are all such perfect characterization. it's so in character for Ichigo to hold back in fear of lashing out. and it makes his transcendence post Dangai training that much greater. we see him tell Aizen to move the battle somewhere else. and then when Aizen refuses, Ichigo manhandles him. with full confidence. he hasn't just transcended, he's gained full control over his transcendent power and is oozing with rightly placed gall.

My interpretation: that was Ichigo's Resurreccion. Literally and ability-wise. And since the actual zanpakto was in control there was no limit to his power. As such, Ulquiorra was used as a mop on a dirty floor.

I always thought that Senjumaru's bankai manifested what she envisioned would be both the most fitting demise, as well as the most effective counter-method to her opponent's abilities. She WAS the head of research and development, and so I'd imagine she'd be quite perceptive with what she's witnessed, and established a rapid-fire solution to each of their suppose strengths. Uryu can reverse attacks, or at least reverse the affect of certain actions? drain him of his abilities as slowly as possible. Haschwalth can take advantage of momentary weaknesses in one's assault and turn things around? Make it ever-present, painful enough to debilitate, and keep going no matter what - no room for openings. Gerard's might is locked down before it can properly flourish. Pernida's surrounds leave no vantage point to manipulate, everything is indistinguishably infinitesimal in their cascading effect. Lille Barro's own ability is conceptually inverted, and the constructs that pierce Askin, aren't some form of unique power for him to assimilate into his library.

Some questions I really want to know that never got answered. How much of a boost does Shunko give? What is the estimated multiplier on that? What does the K and N Schrift stand for and how do they work? What is the sin that the werewolf clan committed? And most importantly, would Isane sit on my face if I asked real nicely?

I’ve always had a problem with Senjumaru’s power being Fate. If Lille is fated to die by mirrors, then it wouldn’t make sense for him to die here, he’d have to live on and die by the mirror later. And if Senjumaru knows that her power is Fate then she should know it’s weird that none of their fates are ending with her Bankai. I think she just crafted the best counters she could think of and it is a fun little nod to manga readers. Plus Pernida’s isn’t on the nose at all, and Hashwalth and Uryu’s don’t match their fate at all (Hashwalth maybe his fated encounter with Bazz, but he lives for a bit afterward)

Really reminds me of the King and his Horse speech. When Ichigo became weaker than White, Ichigo was punished. His power tanked, and he wasn’t able to reach his height’s because now he was carrying someone else instead of being carried. The reveal about Senjumaru’s Shikai actually reveals her domain. The others have Names, Zanpakto, soul creation and transferring, and healing. Senjumaru gave the Soul Society its form. She stitched it all into the terrain, the grass, the trees, the rocks. She is the reason the afterlife has its form.

I think when you're talking about Irazusando, it seems like a training technique that perhaps requires the permission of the Soul King to attempt, and also requires Ichibe's, Senjumaru's, and Reio's power. Since it requires all 3 of them to pull off, it's not a wonder that most can't complete it, and those that do come out with "power beyond that of any ordinary Soul Reaper"

I cannot explain why...but deepening the lore on shunpo made me feel so Good.

Kind of wish Kubo just went with the idea that only pure-blood Quincey are vulnerable to Hollow Reiatsu and that Uyru being of mixed heritage has a resistance to it, especially since it would highlight the importance of his mother even more in the final arc and further emphasize how foolish Yhwach's narrow idea of what Quincey's are actually is.

Given the "D" Sternritter, forget his name off top of head, was noted for being impossible to kill before receiving the Deathdealing, I think Shrifts are built upon something native to the individual/s, but refined and strengthened to serve Yuhabach's interests/needs. The way "the Antithesis" manifests in the TYBW is probably due to the Schrift, but the fact that it was *the Antithesis* Uryu recived was because it was Uryu. Hope I managed to communicate why it makes sense to me.

Uryuu did in fact have a form of The Antithesis before Yhwach gave him his blood, which we know from two things. One is that Yhwach can sense (and could sense even when his Almighty was sealed) the Schrift within Quincys and selected his Sternritter in part based on who had ones powerful enough to bother with enhancing, according to Kubo (and also based on how Yhwach knew that Uryuu would receive the letter A). And second, we know that Royd and Lloyd had awakened The Yourself by age 5, by all indications with no contact with Yhwach, as shown in the manga.

My take on the whole "uryu is special" thing is that yes, it's because of the Antithesis. Two possible reasons come to mind, which aren't necessarily mutually exclusive 1, all Schrifts need to be granted by Yhwach, but what he grants is a "blank" capacity, the actual specifics of what the power entails are determined by the nature of the user, not (fully, at least) by Yhwach. This makes it more like being given an Asauchi. This also makes sense, because Yhwach is attaining power by giving some out and then taking it back; something has to come from the recipient. In this case, all future Schrift users may already posses aspects of the power they will one day wield, aka Bazz may have always had some affinity for fire, or something like that. 2, Antithesis may work differently because it's special. It's whole deal is reversing cause and effect. If you reverse the cause and effect of "having a Schrift because you drank Yhwach's blood" you get "drinking Yhwach's blood because you have a Schrift"; in this case, the nature of Antithesis may mean that the fact that Uryu would one day receive it would cause him to have already had it from the start; drinking Yhwach's blood is merely a formality, much like for Pernida and Gerard.

With Uryu since his first battle with Mayuri, maybe the surveillance bacteria provided a disruption or barrier against that encroachment process.

Senjumaru's bankai is basically a domain expansion she create a barrier to trap the enemy and can do basically anything she want to the trapped enemy

I think Senjumaru uses the threads of fate to create localised pocket dimensions where she can tailor the laws of reality to random effect. They’re not illusions or limited by belief, she just creates pockets of reality that then burn/freeze the enemies within.

Here is something to think about. Orihime's "healing" abilities are really just her "rejecting" injury from existence. She got this power from Ichigo basically bullying her with spiritual energy while also being open to accepting it. Uryu is also one of Ichigo's spiritual bully victims. Only Ichigo's spiritual pressure is also blended with Hollow power. So when Uryu was injured by a very powerful hollow, then blasted with Ichigo's spirit after White ran wild, and then "Healed" by a power that had its beginings in that same energy... Uryu was healed becoming the second Quency who's power belonged to them. Achived by "rejecting" the Almighy's grip on Uryu's powers and replacing it with the same energy that gave Chad and Orihime their abilites. In short Uryu's quincy power probably comes from Ichigo, who was able to reject the Almighy's pull and keep a portion of his quincy energy..... or maybe im talking out of my ass. Sorry for the grammar, I never actually learned how to spell the Japanese names so substituted other terms.

Senjumarus Bankai may confront it's victim(s) with their destiny? While the effect is random(Senjumaru cannot choose or control the destiny) it's still no coincidence how the Schutzstaffel members were trapped. That way it's even better as the Schutzstaffel now knows how they would die and somewhat behave to prevent it. - Gerard just has plotarmor with his miracles. - Lille is quite surprised by the mirrored blade - Askin literally jumps back as he saw Uraharas bankai in fear to be crushed by it - Haschwalth overcomes it by killing Bazz-B - Uryuu betrayes the Wandenreich to escape to be consumed by it

my favorite trope is a character having a power that if they got even a little creative with would be extraordinarily powerful if not the most powerful being in existence, but the character themselves are just completely unimaginative, like 'i just have to imagine you not existing and you won't, but i can't imagine anything outside of a shoe box'. i mean it is entirely possible that since Uryu is young and has spent a lot of time near at least three soul reapers and whatever Chad and Orihime are (i can't remember if it was confirmed that they are fullbringers or not or are just their own thing) allowing him to pretty much build up a tolerance if not immunity to hollows.

I believe that the "Mugetsu" form is the answer to Ichigo's "peak" form it acted like a quincy Letz still and looks hollowish with the bandages and two visable teeth on the face which leads me to believe this was Ichigos powers perfectly balanced with each other where as in the end of the series hes still having trouble balancing his hollow powers against his quincy powers. If I could ask Kubo one question it would be whats the power difference between Mugetsu and end of series Horn of Salvation.

You know, given the info of Shunpo, we can now get a good grasp on how the Soul Reaper Academy likely helps with squad/rank placement. We don't really get that much info on the academy but we can still theorize what is likely taught + how nobility and any particular proficiency (or lack there of) play a factor in what is likely a lengthy process of being placed in a squad. I personally think it goes something like this: 1) Potential academy students are given a test to measure their reiryoku as a baseline pass or fail type of interview 2) Students are given an asauchi to carry with them & hopefully imprint their soul onto (this likely helps to determine how quickly students graduate or are allowed to take certain classes, squad placement, etc.) 3) Everyone is given a crash course on the 4 basic combat arts with this acting as a good metric for what one needs to improve on or what they lack. From here anyone proficient in Kido is likely observed by Squad 4 & the Kido Corps and given an invitation or test based on further Kido mastery while Hoho mastery is seen as an afterthought based on squad assignment (I'm mainly getting this from the fact that Hanataro said he's not good at Shunpo yet is still a fairly high-ranking officer) 4) After imprinting on an asauchi, students are given more freedom so they can properly communicate with their zanpakuto spirit while still requiring a minimum level of expertise/training in the basics (this is mainly inferred from Renji & Marechyo who are both bad at Kido yet maintain their lieutenant status, though there are likely special cases as well like Nanao or outliers like Toshiro) 5) From this point on their zanpakuto's abilities are taken into account alongside all previous abilities. However it's also likely that some are still accepted into certain squads regardless of their zanpakuto. Hence, Izuru was formerly in Squad 4 and Renji was in the 5th & 11th Squads (I forgot which one he was in 1st). I imagine that students receive offers or invitations given that one squad 12 guy who was used to lure in Orihime & Uryu during the Soul Society arc. In regards to that guy, it's also likely that you aren't allowed to leave the academy until you're accepted by a squad or special corps regardless of abilities. Plus we also know what happens to the ones that "drop out" *cough* Maggot's Nest Anyway, I mainly just did this cause we get very little information on certain parts of the soul society's inner workings outside of things like filler, flashbacks, & brief statements from characters who attended the academy. People likely forget that the academy serves such an important purpose given that it's LITERALLY THE ONLY SCHOOL. Honestly, this is just one of the many head cannons/questions I have regarding the series due to what information we get throughout the many sources we have

In my headcanon, Yhwach doesn't give people powers when he bestows them with their Schrift and a part of his soul. He just unlocks what potential there is already inside them, cheating it out immediately instead of them gradually manifesting it. That's also my reasoning for those people always having sort lives because Yhwach's soul is used as the trigger while their lifespan is the fuel. I honestly can't believe Yhwach would just gift Uryu the Antithesis when he knows Uryu's reason for joining could be for revenge, when Sōken Ishida (grandpa) broke away from Vandereich, while that the boy had something defying Auswhalen which is the ultimate control mechanism against Quincy.

I dont think senjumarus bankai is AS strong as we think it is, as while yes she manipulates her threads to make things, she still needs to figure out a way for those things to beat her opponent, and judging from the clip from the season 3 trailer there is a way to break out of it

Flash Step is literally just like the Afterimage Technique from Dragon Ball. They are moving so insanely fast that the characters are breaking the laws of physics allowing an individual to appear in multiple places simultaneously.

Considering the Auswählen and if I"m not mistaken, Bazz'B was hit by it and survived with his abilities in tact. It would suggest that Bach just allows them to draw the full potential of their abilities, they always exist within their soul but Bach has the ability to etch the name of the ability into said soul to make them more powerful. With Uryu, I feel it's as simple as his birth was also a perfect storm because his mother was poisoned by a hollow and it's very possible that her loving nature allowed Uryu to develop a soul that could counter that which plagued the Quincy. In an amusing sense, Uryu becomes a True Messiah because he has the potential to lead the Quincy down a path in which they no longer have to fear the Hollows and how poisonous they are to them.

With the fact that any Shinigami/Hollow hybrid have the potential to access a Resurrección of their own, the horned mask could easily be seen as the gateway to Ichigo’s Resurrección.

I think Uryu thing is. He has been around Ichigo for so long that he may have gotten some kind of "Iniculation" from hollow cells. Because "White" has always been with Ichigo and the scene where Uryu was bleeding power off Ichigos sword after the Menos fight would have hurt him if he hadn't had some kind of resistance.

I've always constantly pointed out w/ friends that, as far back as Quincy Archer Hates You, Uryu was in close physical proximity to Hollows in his one-sided pissing context w/ Ichigo (ESPECIALLY the slapstick in the park.) Then there were the scenes where Uryu rode Bawabawa & the physical comedy w/ Pesche. You'd think extended periods of physical contact would've proved fatal, humorous levity be damned. And well... outside the Kurosaki siblings, Uryu is the only Quincy full-stop to be immune to Auswählen. (Which, ironically, blurs the distinction between Gemischt Quincy & Soul Suicide in Quincy from Hollow reishi infection. Cuz Gemischt seemed to retain complete autonomous function properly, i.e Kanae & the other maids)

I've always thought that because he learned white was his zanpakuto, he finally accepted white as his power and officially merged with it. Meaning that he doesn't have to summon it separately anymore. It's already a part of his final form in the tybw. I know it looks amazing, and people would like to see more of the look of it, but for growth purposes, it makes sense why you don't see it later on. Great writing by Kubo, in my opinion.

I figure that Uryu is a special Quincy like Jugram, Yhwach, Royd/Loyd.

Honestly I would love to see that iconic form again in the series, hell it was the very thing that got me to watch the show knowing it's building up to that epic form and fight.

When it comes to Senjumaru's Bankai... I do believe it actually does base the effects off of 'fate' or the meta-narrative as described. However, it appears random to Senjumaru because she can't actually perceive fate. The ability to directly interact with fate lies with characters on the level of the Soul King (so, Almighty Awakened Yhwach, Post Royal Training Ichigo, Transcendent Aizen...) but that doesn't mean other characters can't tap into a base level of that power. If I was to break it down, I'd say Senjumaru's power works thusly: She creates a 'hank' tailored to a specific individual, traps said individual within the hank, and then allows fate to decide the applied effect(s). But, because she doesn't have the enlightenment of SK level characters, she has no idea what effects are being bestowed until they actually begin to happen.

It seems that all the sternritter innately have a a gift/power that is dormant within them. However that power isn’t fully awakened until they go through Yhwach’s ritual. The schrift ability seems to be directly related too the User’s hidden power, talent, personality, and/or ideology. Uryu has the ability to defy the odds. Uryu has faced against many enemies that are stronger than he is, however he used his wits and strategy to turn the battle to his favor. Jugram was untalented when it came to manipulating reishi, however he had the ability to make others around him stronger. Jugram now has the power of the balance in which he can manipulate and distribute the amount of power that he can give and take from others. Lille barro is an extremely exceptional marksman, in which the X axis enhances his abilities to god level heights. Askin has a talent in understanding biochemistry, in which the death dealing allows him to use this knowledge to his advantage. Quilge is extremely talented when it comes to subjugating and controlling reishi, in which his schrift the Jail is just an extension of this talent. Bambietta has a very bombastic personality. She’s very stubborn and hot headed. Deep down she is an insecure and frightened girl that wants to be noticed, so she puts on this act of someone that is edgy, loud, and conceited in order to hide her true self. The Explode perfectly matches her personality and it helps aids her to appear as someone that is wild, powerful, and someone to be feared, while also giving her the massive attention that she craves.

Ishida had Anit Thesis within him just not enough to fully manifest it and contorl it however the ability was still doing its job to keep him alive.

#1 Ichigos issue has always been lack of certainty. No other Captain or Vice Captain ever had any crisis of confidence like him. After decades they are too old, too well tested for that. But he was still a 16 year old highschool student: - in his battle with Renji, he just found his certainty for the first time - in his battle with Kenpachi, his newly found certainty was almost crushed by Kenpachis...kenpachiness - the lack of certainty crept in with his hollow becomming more active. It took a backseat - it came back in full force after the H2 form - he had some minor flareup when reforging Bankai. Brought on by his contact with Yhwach and his Quincy side #5 What if Auswählen actually injects Hollow Reiatsu into the Quincies to quickly kill them quickly and reliably? A poisioned arrow, so to speak. Uryu was just immune to it.

That hypothetical Ichigo controlling the Vasto Lorde is actually in Brave Souls. Long hair and Shihakushō in tact!

With that one answer about Ichigo's powers post-Ulquiorra fight, there are so many more layers added to his already amazing character arc. This is why I love Bleach.

I have a theory regarding ichigos hollow mask. To best explain this, the Hollow mask and the full Hollow evolution are 2 separate and unique things. One thing to note is in the battle against Byakua Hollow Ichigo takes over and says i will show you how to use bankai. This interesting as suggests that even though Ichigo has a fully mastered bankai through his train, he doesn't know how to use it correctly and hollow Ichigo taking over is him melry showing Ichigo how to use bankai or to better regulate his bankais power so he doesn't get crushed by it. So whenever he dawns the mask whats i belive is actually happening is Ichigo accessing more of his bankais power without seriously get hurt by, this would make sense as even during the grimmjow fight, nelliel says to orhime that everytime Ichigo is uses his mask he is suffering. which is similar to how when he first unlocked bankai and was getting crused by his own spiritual pressure. This is why in the fullbring arc he doesn't use it, because by this point in the series he has fully masterd his false bankai and can regulate the power with out hurting him self. Now what is the vasto lord transformation/mask? As Ichigo zanpakto has both a shinigami side and a hollow side i think it safe to say Ichigo has access to both the full of evolution of a shinigam being a bankai and the full evolution of a hollow being the vasto lord transformation. The soul society arc focused on ichigos eveloution as a soul reaper focusing on shika and banaki and arrancar saga focused on his eveloution from the an adjuchas to a vosto lord, which by the end of it was incomplete and is only complete during TYBW. which is why has to go into that form in a special way. This I'm my own headcannon theory. it could be be wrong but to me the mask and the vasto lord feel like to separate forms which relate to ichigos hollow self in different ways.

I suspect that Uryu was a half Quincy born with a fragment of the soul king. This would kinda make him a semi fullbringer Quincy hybrid or somewhat reflect Yhwach. This could be an explanation of why he was never effected by Yhwach's soul extraction

Seems like White did have to take control as Ichigo was subconsciously holding back on the hollow powers he had access to. Thus when he was on the brink of dying, White had taken the reins an fully tapped into what ichigo could do without the resistant of his humanity. The transformation negating the fatal damage as his 100% hollow form had hole there. Since White only really cares about living an in turn keeping Ichigo alive an would not hesitate to attack with all he had even if he opponent had moved behind someone Ichigo cared about. Thus he feared that if he tapped in too deep into that hollow power that his own humanity would be lost to hollow nature.

You know,this put for me at least senjumaru way higher then before in the 0 division. I think at least for me,from to top would be: 1-Ichibei 2-Oetsu 3-Senjumaru 4-Tenjiro 5-Hikifune(she was the last person to join the 0 division).

I wish we had more of a breakdown on how something like shunpo works. I wish we knew exactly how they preform these feats of speed. What exactly makes them that fast? Is it like pumping reishi into their legs? I need more of a physiological explanation on this.

I did some looking and it would be really cool if i could see the Kanji for Jouritsu and Bakkyaku but I found that the Bakkaku could potentially mean 発覚　which means detection, so since he is so good at it, he could be good at not being detected during Shunpo

I believe that shumpo same as sonido consists of 3 parts. One of them is how fast person moves, other is how far (like Starrk isn't fast as Zomari but he can move on big distances), and movement with fast speed doesn't mean that person can actually attack with that speed.
