No need for an apology Paul. That guard is one sweet piece. Your vids are most appreciated and I am getting some neat ideas from them. Keep up the great work. Cathy is to be complimented as well. Those decals really set off the tractor.

I came across your video while searching for a fuel filter mod. It wasn't really what I was looking for. But, I need to tell you, your craftsmanship is second to none. The little cover and bracket you made for the fuel filter looks like it came from the manufacturer. It looks like it was meant to be exactly that way from the very beginning. Wow. Nice job!

Nice cover. And your wife's finishing touches always makes it look good. I hope the weather gives you a break soon. It will be 80 here in central Florida tomorrow and instead of pushing snow, I will be pushing the lawn mower.

Well done Paul - your sure not afraid of work. I was telling all the boys at the shop today about your channel and one guy spoke up after and asked me where is Newfoundland , well I told him and then he asked me the strangest question. How could it snow so much if its surrounded by salt water. Well I had to inform him about Deer Lake , the largest fresh water lake in the world and this is where the water to make snow comes from. I told him when you fly into Joey Smallwood international airport on the north shore of Deer Lake , its a 4 hour crossing of the lake to the airport. Always willing to help a new Canadian out. LMAO.

No man. I'm a dog for work but I like to play to. When the summer comes I'll get the wing out and the stang and get some more vids on the go. You did good. I'm proud of you. It's funny to mention Joey Smallwood. His family is amongst our best customers. Been working for them for years. Great people too.I was in LA a few years ago, at LAX actually and the ticket lady asked me where Newfoundland was located? I replied "Do you know where Toronto is? She replied "yes" I replied "Well Newfoundland is know where near there". Everyone started to laugh, Except her lol.

I just spent an obscene amount of time under my BX to change that little filter (hateful location) because it stalled during that last snowfall removal (delayed cuz I caught a cold lol) and I don't know if it's because I was not 100% yet, or because I watched this vid BEFORE I went to the garage (subconscious message lol), but needless to say I will not crawl under there to change that filter again; it's coming out, and THAT MOD is going in. Part ordered, fittings bought, bracket fab in sketch mode. Thank you (again lol). Seriously, that setup ought to be standard.

Paul, ya need to put a vert. slot in the filter guard so you can see if the filter is getting full of dirt.Right now ya have to take the guard completely off just to check it. Love your videos. The Mrs. does a great job on the camera.

Thanks George. Not to worry. I put a lot of thought into the mods I do and I do them to fit my needs. This mod has been great for the machine. It's a much better filtration system that what came with the little tractor. Vermont is a beautiful state. Some day I plan on heading down that way. Keep well.

Nice mod! I bought my BX25 D a month ago and came across your videos a couple of days ago and immediately subscribed. I appreciate the quality and creativity you both put into your work. I was looking for new ideas for my new toy and I definitely came to the right place! I will be building a little shop for myself in the spring, though it will not come close to your shop, (which I am quite envious of...lol) I will use what I have at my disposal to try and create some of the mods you have. The fuel filter and guard are a must in my book. I also must look into the wheel spacers as my property is very hilly and steep. If I remember correctly I think you mentioned where to buy them in a previous video, but if you have time to reply to this post could you mention where to get them again, thanks. Keep up the good work you two! we'll be watching. In the future I will need to talk to you about those center caps, they might not be a necessity but yes they do rate way up there on the "Cool Factor" ...lol. I want some!

Question for others with this type of Kubota fuel filter assembly. There is an "On" marking all the way to the left at the 9 o'clock position, in addition to the straight up / 12 o'clock "On" marking. Is there a difference between the two? Ours is always set in the straight up On position for normal operation, but I've never found why there is an On to the left. Bypass? Thanks in advance.

@7863348
@7863348 7 лет назад
I was the original designer of that mod you bought. After I posted pictures and videos on it then it started showing up on fleebay. I haven't studied how he attaches the filter but it don't have the same allowances for the guard that I have. Mine was designed for the guard. I used to shair my ideas until people started using them for profit. Now I have four more on the on my BX that will never be seen or shown because of that. When you get yours installed take some close up photos of the filter and maybe I can fab something for you ;)

Beautiful work Paul and Kathy.Though it would be better to be able to see the filter without having to remove the guard or getting down on ones knees to look at the bottom of the bowl.Creating a vertical slot in the guard?Creating the guard from Acrylic? I'm sure you two will solve the problem if you deem it to be one.
@7863348
@7863348 10 лет назад
Thank you. When I was doing it I also pondered that idea and thought about punching a slot in the guard and then figured with that slot and my luck it would be the very thing that would go through the slot and take the bowl out. The acrylic would be fantastic IF I could get it as strong as needed but there's nothing around these parts to get it plus the 1/8th steel that I used is brutally strong and don't take up a lot of space. I've come to the conclusion that I will replace that filter ever 100 hours weather it needs it or not. Great suggestion and thanks for it.

Hi Paul new subscriber, but have watched your videos for awhile. Got addicted! Looks great but I think I would have painted it the grey color like the rest of the items down there on the tractor. I have a b2910 and it has a nice fuel filter set up that would be easier to mount. It's got 400hrs on it and still looks clean. Your a talented Guy keep up the good work!
@7863348
@7863348 7 лет назад
Hi Mark. Colour is such a personal choice in people with no one being wrong because it's simply an opinion. I wanted it that colour so it would stand out from the boring grey and considering it was in a video it would be easier to show it by usingnthat colour. This set up the same system that's on my Grand L 5740 so I know it's good and will work well. Thanks for watching. Happy tractoring.

Hey Paul, got a question for you how many hours do you think that you have put in to building all the mods for your bx25. Oh and as usual the vids are awesome
@7863348
@7863348 10 лет назад
Well that's a good question that I wish I knew the answer to. This BX showed up the last of March last year. I told everyone at the time that I would come up with 12 mods that were never done before on the BX. Well a few of my friends laughed and said no way but I've gone well past that now. I've restored and customized just about everything but the one item that sparked the most interest has been the tractor stuff. All I can tell you is we wont count the time in hours but months would be a more accurate time frame. Good question :)
@rvkubotaman
@rvkubotaman 8 лет назад
Paul, the fuel filter number you put on the guard comes back to the old style filter that you removed from the bottom of the tractor, was that a mistake of the number for the filter. That filter can't be in that new filter you just added. I have the same tractor, like all your ideas and workmanship.

I told you that you were going to get snow but I think you guys get more than we do thank goodness. I have ran out of room to put it out of the way. Another Great project but I have some questions this time which for me is good. First the guard is welded on to the mount for the fuel filter, can it be removed as one unit so when you do the check of main frame bolt torque on the FL mounts ? Second can you still see the clear bowl of the filter for anything in the fuel ? just thinking but as always it is a great video and I enjoyed it. I also want to thank you for being so detailed about how and what you are doing, it helps me at least for learning and review. Oh and yes there is more snow and cold winds a coming.......Brrrrrrr!
@7863348
@7863348 10 лет назад
It's a crazy winter here. I just looked out and couldn't see a thing because of the blowing snow. Here's the order of the mod: #1. Fabricated a mount to attach the fuel filter assembly to. This mount was milled out to fit over one of the fel bolts. The mount it's self was bolted to the frame via two 3/8th bolts that I drilled and tapped into the FEL mount. I then added the guard block but it's welded to the filter bracket. So to check the FEL bolt torque you would, #1. Using a 5 mm alan wrench remove the two bolts holding the filter guard #2. Remove two top 5/16 bolts holding the filter assembly on. #3. Push filter assembly to one side. #4. Remove the the two 3/8th bolts on the filter assembly bracket and bracket will come off. #5. Check torque on FEL bolts. #6 To reassemble reverse the procedure :) If you look up under the guard you can see if there's any dirt or water in it. I didn't want to punch out a slot in the guard for viewing because it would weaken it. It's one minute to pull the guard and check the filter condition.
