One main problem with these mini excavators is the bucket and thumb pin breaks right where the grease channel is. In this video I show how to repair and install a new non greaseable pin.
Compliments on your well lit well explained video. I have the same excavator, similar problem. The outside edges of the bore are ovaled by the bushings ( bearings really), I think because the bearings/bushings are hardened, so the wear ends up in the bore at the end of the dipper. Not great. I'm thinking about having a new bore machined to accept flanged bushings which will deliver the wear to the solid pin. Also, drilling in a new zirt thorough dipper end just like you did. Maybe a guard around it? Lemme know if you have any thoughts. Thanks.
Thank you. That does seem like a very long term solution to the problem. I think you’re correct the bushings almost seem to hard for this application. When mine came out most of all the wear was on the dipper and not the bushings themselves. Thanks for the idea.
