I have watched this comparison when slanted towards John Deere, and I have watched it when slanted towards Kubota. As a first time tractor buyer, I will be buying a Kubota.
Literally have never had any of the problems, or just figuratively? Because if you had left out the word, "literally," I would've assumed you meant in a figurative way!
I never had thought about Kubota much until I worked for a company that used one to maintain their property. That tractor was used to mow in the summer (72" belly mounted mower) 7 acres every week. Loader used to remove snow from about 5 acres of parking lots and year round to load and unload materials from trucks. After 18 years the clutch needed to be replaced mostly due to many different people operating. Only other parts needed were just batteries and maintenance. Only 25 HP. but one tough little tractor.
I was back and forth between a Deere and Kubota, I ended up going with a Deere because the local Kubota dealer never once returned any of my calls. The Deere tractor and dealer have both been excellent, no issues whatsoever.
@Morty Snerd I did this exact thing last week at a JD dealer. I even had had a guy I knew put in a good word and let them know I was coming. He has a thirty year plus relationship with JD and yeah, no one even got up. I leaned on a zero turn after ten minutes of wondering if I smelled. I leaned there for about another five fiddling with the levers and making noise before a guy walks up and asks if I need help. I said, 'Sure!' I am looking at a new twenty-five to forty horse tractor.' Dude smiles and says, 'Oh. Great. Well. We have a lot of them in the yard.' He then walks away from me... I was like WTF? The place was dead. It was half two in the afternoon. There was an old man arguing about a parts charge on a servicing and me. The place was dead. They couldn't give a shit. I drive across the street to the Kubota. Dude jumps out of the chair and practically runs at me. He shakes my hand and pulls his jacket on. I haven't even said anything. I tell him what I want. He says, 'Sure!' We walk out into the yard and he asks if I want to bomb around the yard with it. I say no and ask him to ram the loader into a hard packed pile of four-eleven road gravel. He shrugs and tears into this bank of gravel at about ten miles an hour. Throws the full bucket up. Dumps it, and asks what other tricks I would like him to do. He offers to run at the asphalt on the lot (placed there for this reason). I say sure. He tears decent sized chunks of asphalt out of the ground and dumps it. He goes on to tell me that he had it placed there because he has been getting a lot of people saying they are going with JD because they can lift more in the same tier of tractor. He ended up buying that tractor and having it on the lot next to the L2501 for demonstration purposes. Having already been to JD on a separate day six months or so ago, I had no doubt the Deere wouldn't have been able to mark that asphalt. I bought the L2501. Oh, it comes with five attachments and cost 20K. The same tier Deere with just the loader (which lifts substantially less) is 25K. No box grader. No finish mower. No quick attachment brackets. No work lights.
I've got the L3301 HST. LOVE it. Looked at all brands and did my homework and 100% made the best choice for me. I don't care what color a tractor is but when you consider Kubota tractors are built from Kubota parts, whereas other brands have sourced out engines and other components, it's easy to see who to go with for service and parts reliability.
Sadly this is a very biased review. The way this guy man handles the JD loader control to “display jerky ness”, racks the hood every which way, and uses descriptors as “piece of junk” speaks volumes. This is far from a serious comparison. He overlooks many inferior components on the Kubota to fit his narrative. Both great tractors. Examine side by side for yourself and decide.
The only reason I went orange was the salesman at the green dealer was very far from polite....when you state that someone can't afford something and you have no idea about that person, yeah, not doing business with a dealer that hires employees like that. The orange dealer was good, but bad timing trying to buy stuff with the economical mess from COVID and the supply issues. Salesman didn't get everything down that I needed so I don't have the mid mount mower deck I wanted, and I had to finally source pallet forks from another dealer on the other side of the country....otherwise wasn't too big of a deal...did all the paperwork through email, and then sat and waited almost a month and a half for my tractor to show up LOL.
Exactly! He left out the part where kubota puts their steering linkage in front of the axles exposing it to damage. Totally biased opinion. He didn't say how the John deere has on the fly pto, and you don't have to stop, press the clutch to engage it! There are so many better features on the jd.This guy is an idiot!
Bought a new John Deere 3038e in 2009. It has performed well at everything I have asked of it over the last 11 years. I have a stump grinder, auger, 5' box blade, 5' rotary cutter, 5' finish mower, bucket, pallet forks and a brush crusher grapple and it handles all of them great. The only thing I have done is the routine maintenance in the manual. I have not owned a Kubota so just my opinion.
Since I have driven both I'll share my experience regarding a few things that actually matters to me as a tractor owner and hopefully this will help some potential buyers decide. 1) Both are EXCELLENT tractors, you can't go wrong with either. 2) If you are a big guy (6'1 or taller), Kubota will fit you better because of the larger platform. However, I'm 5'11 180 lbs, and the John Deere feels much more ergonomic to me, everything is comfortably within reach. 3) Kubota is heavier and will be better for ground engaging work, but the John Deere is a more maneuverable so if you have tight spots you need to get into on your property the Deere will be better for you. Open farm land, go Kubota. Woods with trees, go Deere. 4) Kubota's loader hydraulics can do multiple functions at the same time, but John Deere loader is faster. Play with both and see which on you prefer. However, The 3 point hitch operation on the Deere is amazingly smooth, the most smooth i've experienced out of any tractor. 5) Don't worry about the treadle(Kubota) vs side-by-side (Deere), you'll get use to either. I personally prefers Kubota's treadle. 6) Yanmar engine on the Deere is louder, but I like the sound better than the Kubota engine. 7) If you need a backhoe down the road then get a Kubota, or a different Deere like the 3R or 2R series. 3E series doesn't support backhoe. 8) If you can afford it, go one level up to the Kubota Grand L Series or the Deere 3R or 4R series. Much more capable and dexlue machines.
Once you use the Treadle Pedal, you'll never go back ☺. And your foot REMAINS in one place at all Times, which of course lends to operator stability. The larger Deck is a focus for Backhoe work. As this model, as most all Kubotas are Made for backhoe work. So, tends to be higher. Though the bucket speed may seem faster on the Deere. You may find from use, And SPEC's. The Kubota will lift More Weight, Higher. The Quietness of the Kubota is a Big Advantage. Especially if used in urban areas where people tend to get Pissy at times. Or more populated and or Contractor work for the same reasons. Kubota DID TRY the PLASTIC route a few times on a few models. Just doesn't work for a tractors, Or Mowers environment. And you May find Kubotas hydraulic lines more Robust. A difference that matter around concrete and Trees. And implements are practically unlimited. Oh. And the 3speed hst has it's advantages too. LOW, basically was for Backhoe work. When movement is kept to a minimum. MEDIUM, for most bucket work etc. HIGH, for hauling or roadwork. Or mowing or snow removal between distant areas and fields. Just some of my observations as an operator, hydraulic and diesel mechanic. BE SAFE. AND ALWAYS EXTEND YOUR ROLL BARS ☺
I have used both , and the treddle peddle was very very uncomfortable. Nothing pleasant about pushing down with your heal. Much easier to keep heal planted and swivel toes left or right.
@@joejoe571 Everyone has a Preference. "Planting" your heal is simply Reverse actually. You can work this pedal in a lot of different ways. You could do it toe heel style. Some guys will also rest their entire foot on top of the pedal and rock back and forth, or some other guys will even press with their toe and when they want to go in reverse slide their toe underneath the pedal and lift upwards. There's really three different ways that you can position your foot on this pedal in order to operate the tractor. Myself. I've also found control is still easy, and stable while Standing Up as well. With no need to adjust your stance while changing directions. Something that can not be achieved with the two forward pushing pedal configuration. Just preferences, To each his own ☺
I have tended to favor JD but haven't owned one since my B years ago. Looking for a reasonable priced used tractor. Had liked E series, but I need a backhoe in the future and am not a fan of plastic and aluminum castings. Todays tractors aren't as good (sturdy) as those 30 yrs ago...…. I'll go old.
I bought the bx23s and about 2 weeks later my old man bought the B2601 with ALL of the bells and whistles backhoe and all. Both are amazing machines. But I wish I would have gotten the larger model the first time around due to lift capacity. But either way it makes daily chores a HELL of alot easier and funner to do.
I have an X500 JD garden tractor. My wife ran into a tree after running over a wasp nest. The hood shattered and cost $1200 to replace. Had it been steel, I could pound out the dent and not worry about it. It also has the side by side pedals while my B2410 has the treadle, but it has one pedal up front, and one behind, the treadle itself is under the deck leaving the deck open. I find myself pressing BOTH pedals on the X500, or pressing the reverse instead of forward, and when mowing that kills the deck instantly. After 20 years of operating the Kubota, I would have to relearn everything on a JD. Weight savings on a tractor is BS, a tractor is SUPPOSED to be heavy, otherwise it floats above the ground instead of digging in to work. I think this video was a really good comparison between them, the actual functions and not the bling, well done.
I have a L2501 Kubota with the gear drive. For my usage, I chose to save spending the $1000 for the HST to give me a slight bit more power to the pto. I did not then nor do I now like the Kubota treddle peddle as well as the twin touch peddles found on the Deere tractors. I own a farm in Iowa and have been a Deere guy all my life until the last few years. I had a JD gator that I traded for a Kubota RTV 900 side by side, I now own a Kubota GR2120 4wd diesel 54 in. lawn tractor, with the treadle peddle, and my newest addition to the farm, the L2501. I still own 5 John Deeres. A 1953 John Deere 50, 2 1958 John Deere 520's, a very rare 1970 John Deere 2520 diesel, and a John Deere 335 gas lawn tractor, 54in. with the twin touch pedals. I thought that Scholtens did a fair job in this comparison. I expect a little bias. I know that I am. It took many years and a whole bunch of research and phone calls and talking to other people who use their tractors doing what I do with mine to get me to even look at anything other than John Deere. We have some really awesome John Deere dealers in Iowa. I can now say that we have some awesome Kubota dealers in Iowa as well. I have 4 of them within an hours drive of me. I think that John Deere has fallen behind the curve with their smaller tractors, under 50 hp. I still think that the larger Deeres take a back seat to absolutely nobody. What it comes down to is personal choice. In todays tractor world, there are many great choices to be made. I for one, am thankful that we have these posts on you tube to help gather information that will help in making those choices. Thank you Scholtens for the info. Amen to the above post. I have to admit, this video is Kuboataaa biased, but not entirely wrong. Well said and your words sound like my fathers. We're a JD family but have to admit that for smaller shops, companies, and outfits, JD does take an outright SHIT on you and de-prioritizes your repairs ahead of the big money makers (for us, its the big oil and gas companies harvesting the Marcellus and Utica gas in our region). It breaks my heart to see my dad fight with JD to get the service that he should be served since he's paying a premium for the Greene. (Granted we have a few dozers and excavators and such but overall, we are a mom and pop shop). He's recently retired and his "retirement plan" (which I love) is a heavy excavation and construction company so we're somewhat gluttons for punishment but nonetheless... Granted, we're not in Iowa (Ohio Valley on the WV side) so there is a lack of infrastructure for us "hillbillies" to be supported and cared for by #JohnDeere. :D I do have to say that even though I complain about customer service above, their commercial equipment is as hard as coffin nails. Can we even buy an "American" made mid or small sized tractor anymore? (not a rhetorical question)
Wow! Bias much?!? I have only owned John Deere and, in the past, they made great stuff. I bought a Kubota L2501 and could not be happier with that machine after 260 hours. Bias is not bias when what you are saying is true -- then it becomes facts. My L2501, during two hurricane seasons, made people do a double take as I lifted stupidly, large trees with a grapple, then turned around and dug out the stump. The Kubota 525 loader, remember that is 1080lbs to the top of the lift, but if lifting low and closer to the ground. I can pick up a whole lot more than 1080lbs with the backhoe as ballast. It is a beast of a machine for the size of package it comes in.
Comparing the Kubota 3 gear to Deer 2.... Did deer just cut out the middle ? Or the top? Or did they come in between? So low is not that low... and high is not that high???
Price? My local Kubota dealer quoted ~$29,000 for an L3901 with beat juice and loader. The JD dealer quoted $27,000 for either an 3038 or 2038R a much nicer tractor with removable loader + hub extenders to widen the stance on my hill. RK37 with heated and conditioned cab, Long travel luxurious seat, a remote in back, bigger loader, windshield fluid in tires and sliding 3 point hitch with pinned control arms was also $29,000. The Kubota has the lift and curl function on the loader which is nice, if you learn to use it. As a newbie, I do one step at a time but could really see that as being a great feature if you do a lot of loader work. Still looking... I need to spread my tires for driving across a hill and only the JD offered axle spacers from the factory.
I know all the John Deere guys are to hate me for saying this. But the L Series will out last the Deere’s any day. My grandpa bought a 1992 Kubota L 3650 4x4 with the LA650 loader used in 96. That tractor has sat outside for 23 years and it’s been well used, it still runs like a clock and the tractor still looks fairly good to. Nothing major has been done to it just normal maintenance oil changes, batteries, fan belts, and hydraulic cylinder seals when they need replacing. We have 2 other tractors on the farm but we always end up using the Kubota for anything light to medium duty work we need done. However it being 27 years old it’s getting time for a clutch, tie rod end links, and a seat. This tractors has also had 2 sets of tires put on it.
I love John Deere tractors above 80 hp especially the older ones and you can’t beat their backhoes, excavators aka trackhoes, and forestry equipment. Kubota doesn’t offer that much construction so I opt for Cat or JD if I’m buying construction equipment.
So far on mine with 600 hrs...nothing at all major...dogs chewed my fuel line trying to catch a mouse....a top tilt cylinder hose leak....thats it in 13plus yrs. front tires need replacing...
I’m a hobby farmer using a Ford 8N, fits my needs. I also help my son in law on his 400 acres. His Kubota is a nice machine. However, when I bought my farm 16 years ago, the old farmer told me that the most important factor in choosing a tractor is; how close is the dealer for parts and/or service.
I have an L2501, and had my dad's 3032e over at my place for a few weeks. All the things he mentioned in this video are straight on.. I am way more productive with the FEL on the Kubota with the dual action hydraulic, where Dad's 3032e, can't curl and raise just like he shows here. The Yanmar is a lot louder.. I didn't know about the aluminum rear axle on the Deere..
Twin touch vs Tredle is a preference. Except that “twin touch can be dangerous because you can accidentally run over small children or hit buildings”. Wow dude did you basically just say that? There are a lot more real and serious dangers to tractor operation than making up crazy stories about mixing up pedals
While i don't have much experience with tractors i have run many excavators, skid steers and wheel loaders and while driving my sister JD 1025 with twin touch several times i mashed the wrong pedal. it's a stupid design IMO.
I can confirm the issue with the pedals. I've had a kubota and now have a deere. I like the kubota pedal layout. I have accidentally gone forward before when using the bucket to drive in t posts. The pedals do get confusing at times and I have to really think about it before making a movement. The kubota was second nature. I never did accidentally go the wrong direction like I have with the Deere. Dont get me wrong, they are both great machines but I highly prefer the kubota pedal
So, you think that can't happen? Its a legitimate concern. I was a Marine Corps test pilot...these kinds of engineering errors ARE a factor in the safety of equipment. Motors skills matter...and he is dead on correct that using the same motor skill to go forward as to go back is dangerous. Even in a car, people hurt themselves stepping on the gas instead of the brake. So don't laugh about "making up stories"...someone has probably screwed this up already due to that two pedal design.
he exaggerated....but it is super easy...it realistically takes me 2 - 3 minutes. I hate mowing with mine on. I have a bumpy field....the weight of the bucket up front bucks the tractor....with out it is much smother and I can get close to fences and tree lines. Having the loader come off easy is huge.
If he would have positioned it against a Deere 3R properly, he could have taken the Deere loader off in about 20 seconds too. AND shown how easy a DRIVE OVER deck comes off the Deere!!!!
My Dad (Jack Keller) was a kubota dealer here in St Joseph, Missouri back in the 1970's. I like kubota's over John Deere any day! I'd buy the kubota. Awesome little tractors!
I guess they are both OK. I bought my first tractor a few months ago and ended up with a Kubota L3901. Good tractor. While looking at the different offerings I operated a Deere, Mahindra, Kubota, and New Holland. The Mahindra felt like it was not put together well, and a part of the lower dash was already falling off (on a new tractor), in addition Mahindra service reputation is horrible. The Deere felt cheap, and with all the plastic I felt like I was on a riding mower. There were not any with skid loader type attachment on the loaders if I wanted to pick up some used forks later. That might be a problem. The one thing that stood out, as trival as it may be, was the glove compart cover on the fender would not latch because it was not aligned with the opening. Just an over all feel of cheapness. The New Holland Workmaster had a nice heavy feel to it. Ergonomically it was superior to the other three. It felt strong and everything operated smoothly. Overall I ranked the New Holland and the Kubota the same. My decision came down to this. The New Holland was cheaper, but the nearest dealer was 70 miles away at least. The New Holland was a little heavier, but also wider. With the New Holland I would have to buy 72" rear impliments, to cover the width of the rear wheels, where with the Kubota 60" would work fine. Being inexperienced, I noticed that all the locals that buy tractors for commercial use in this range bought Kubotas. I see very few with Deeres and New Hollands, and none with Mahindras. It was still a very tough choice between the two. A week after I bought the Kubota, a New Holland dealer opened up in town not 3 miles away. Oh, and the owner lives next door to my brother-in-law and had been on a first name basis with him for seversl years. What were the chances? If I had know this I might have bought the New Holland. Still happy with my choice and plan to get lots of use out of the Kubota on some property I have after the dirt guy takes out all the big trees.
This was a helpful comment especially the width concern with implements. I have a backhoe unit now that I horse traded for a pickup I owned selling that would yield a good down payment for a tractor I’m looking for used as opposed to new, however and although I like Kubota I’m wondering what Kioti offers there’s a dealer nearby, and there’s a New Holland too I’ve liked New Holland just like the old Ford tractors I’ve ran a few of those and liked them. Tractors have changed greatly over the past two decades that it really comes down to what you get for the money, and yes, JD isn’t doing anything for the average customer nor are they for the big farmer either when it comes to the real equipment.
Thanks for the review. I too have been looking at the Deere, kubota, and Holland as well as Massey. At this point I’ve ruled out Deere and I think holland as well for the same reasons as you, the closest dealer is hours away. I’m fairly certain I’m set on a kubota at this point. Glad to hear you’re happy with your decision.
Both companies have pro's and con's about their equipment and I personally chose the John Deere brand over the Kubota after seeing the differences. Probably the best of all the tractors I viewed videos on was the New Holland, which is not sold in my region.
I have an old B series Kubota and the damn thing just keeps going, I absolutely love it! And will always look at a Kubota long before I make any purchase of a tractor or mower.
It sure is a Kubota commercial... but... is there anything he says which can be refuted? Or, are there flaws that the Kubota has that the Deere doesn't? They are the same price point, after all.
I have used both and own a Kubota. I have been very happy! I work the crap out of mine and have a 7.5' backhoe on it. Yes I have broken the hoe (it's not made by Kubota) but the tractor is a beast! I will definately by another Kubota if I fall into some money! The little Deere's are nice but the HST is annoying and yes, you will break the front end eventually!

Thank you for confirming and bringing up important points missed. I have an early L5030 series and never have removed the front bucket or loader (kinda of a safety feature) but now I want to take it off for sharper turns with a cultivator and now looking for the instructions to safely get it off? At the time of purchase my "buddy" bought a similar sized Mahindra tractor but as we drifted apart lost contact and was always wondering who made the smarter purchase ?
It's not like I have loyalty to a tractor color but we are very happy with the Deere 3E. Not a single issue. After building a 200 foot driveway and making a sand beach for the pond we have been mowing and clearing brush. I needed a tight turning radius with the bucket on and prefer the twin pedals. I would not hesitate to get a Kubota if the opportunity arises.
I have had a Kubota and I spent more time repairing the frigging thing than actually working the tractor. It cost less to maintain our 55 Ford 600 series for over 40 years than the Kubota for 5 years. Forget Japanese so called tractors.
I think a lot of those older tractors you could run to NAPA and get your parts and have the tractor back up and running within hours, where with these new(er) tractors you gotta run to the dealer, order the part, wait a week, or month, or more with today's mess of an economy; and by that time you are so fed up with the tractor you could care less about owning it LOL.
I have owned both. Loved Kubota but when my dad had a knee replaced the treadle pedal was hard so I bought a John Deere for the pedals. Blew 2 hydrolic lines within 3 months... Bought another 1025R for a 1 1/5 acre home and it works hard but the aluminium pedal snapped after 200 hours. Now I am looking at a L39 or comparable John Deere. Have 2 good dealers both have great staff. Price is within a few hundred dollars. This will be my last tractor so it's important. Both my dealers will let me take one and try before you buy again lucky.... What I find disturbing is the foul tempers coming out. Is the video slanted sure we all need to do our OWN homework and talk to customers who have had to have their equipment repaired....Are they happy because all tractors break unless you are not using them. Implement pricing is huge John Deer wanted $1,300 for a 4 ft brush hog I paid $475 for a similar one made here in TN. And for the buy american people I support you but BOTH John Deer and Kubota are Japanese companies. Both provide thousands of jobs for Americans.
If the price point is the same, it's a no-brainer. If the Deere is significantly cheaper, then that's a different story. Tractors should be built to last though...

Is that why you think this video is biased? You see, it cuts both ways using your logic. Honestly, you can't be a rational person and conclude that the John Deere E is better than the Kubota L based on the information presented in this video. I'll change my mind once facts are provided that prove otherwise.
The presenter is a KUBOTA dealer, delivering Kubota sales manual talking points only. It isn't even an apples to apples comparison. The 3E series is spec'd below the Kubota he is representing. Keep in mind it is a 2012 Deere vs. a 2017 Kubota, too.
Great video and great review! John Deere making a proprietary bucket coupler is no surprise, after finding out that they use software to lock their bigger tractors so that you have to take it to a dealer for any repairs...
Well where I come from, you best have 10 grand of you want a used 4x4 Ford tractor. I have a 2110 with just a shade over 2000 hours. It was a deticated snowblower at a cemetery for 40 years. I should know I work there. 3 years ago when I bought it they assumed it was worthless because it was old. But the dealer was fixing to give us like 7500 on a trade for a new backhoe. I offered them a grand, and they threw in all the extra parts for the blower that was lying around.
A friend of my agrees. He enjoys his used Ford tractor that has worked one hundred or so hours and all he had to do was spend $8500. Everyday after using it, he is fixing a hose or coupling or gas cutting a backhoe bracket off because the military grade grease he uses on it still allows it to seize. He sure loves his Ford!
electrohacker haha good luck with that. A good ford 4x4 diesel tractor with a factory loader where I come from, you better have a minimum of 11 grand in your pocket to buy it.

I bought my Kubota about 3 years ago. It's been absolutely problem free and It's been used heavily here on the farm. The John Deere sales guy was worse than a shady used car salesman. The Kubota guy took the time to show me everything because it was my first tractor purchase. My next tractor will be a bigger Kubota.
I’ve been comparing the kubota, Deere, and Massey Ferguson for my next tractor. I have ruled out Massey and after this video I think I made up my mind on the kubota. One thing I didn’t realize was that you cannot tilt the bucket while raising or lowering with the Deere. I’m glad I saw this video and realized that because I’m very used to doing loader action that way and that would’ve been very disappointing.
The Deere loader does do dual function however, another channel pointed out trying to get their loader valve lever into those positions takes a lot of practice and a very small window to hit that part of the valve...the Kubota's loader valve is much easier to hit those multi-function spots it seems, at least to me when I compared the 2 last year the Kubota was a lot easier to hit the lift/curl function than the Deere.
I bought a L2501 over the phone from Steen Enterprises in South Carolina. Called them 5 minutes to 5pm on a Monday in August 2018, and by 5:10pm they had Me approved through Kubota credit. I told Vince the upgrades I wanted and He told Me the cost. I added the Quick change Loader bucket and the forklift attachment, upgrade too Industrial tires, 3 point quick attachment. It came with a Box blade, 5 foot mower deck, an 18 foot trailer ( a 20 foot would've been better for Me), Front end loader. They threw in a nice new chain saw. By 5:20pm I agreed to the deal, and then for shock value I asked if they delivered. Vince put Me on Hold, and then said Yes at $2.00 a mile. I am 400 miles away and I considered the time and distance I agreed. The next night at 8:45pm the Driver Lee pulled into My driveway. He had Me sign the Loan Papers for My 5 year Zero Down Zero Interest Loan and by 9:15pm Lee headed back to Charleston. I have right at 100 hours on it and except for errors on My part everything has been great. My errors, number one I forgot to disconnect the PTO shaft from the tractor and damaged the U joint & shaft . Number two I was moving 20 truck loads of dirt and while trying to pack it down driving on I sunk belly deep in really soft dirt so the tires were suspended. A Friend, a small electric winch and a shovel solved that error. I told some friends at work I got it stuck and they ask how I could get a 4 wheel drive tractor stuck. Showed them the pictures. A week after getting tractor I broke down and called Vince and ordered the post hole digger and Backhoe with the sub frame kit. Also ordered the handle for the right side fender. Better than bracing myself on the fender. Would I have liked a bigger more powerful tractor? YEAH but the L2501 plus it attachments work very well for Me. I had rented Kubota's before and liked them. In My area Home Depot Rents them too
If you're in the market for a bush-hog, definitely do some shopping. JD was really proud of the green paint on its bush-hog when I priced their's. I purchased a superior brand which is made in the USA for less money. JD's was manufactured by contractors.
The 1st time i saw Kubota was small tractors in greenhouses. There good at small. Now there machines are getting a little larger, But still small tractors. But Dear has always made good big tractors and perhaps Kuboto put a little more effort in on there smaller range.
One thing I've always been told, if you want a small tractor buy Kubota, if you want a big agricultural tractor buy a John Deere. Kubota is now dabbling in the agricultural stuff, and still working the bugs out of their big machines so to say...they don't use Kubota engines in their big machines they're using Cummins, but still....yeah I agree if you want a big tractor go green LOL. Pretty much all the farmers in my area use John Deere for their farming use, for new tractors anyways. Still a lot of old John Deere tractors in use, lots of old Massey's, Fords, etc. But the new stuff is green. Can't go wrong with John Deere even with their smaller tractors too...just my Deere dealer had a very horrible salesman so I went orange, but I bought a sub-compact, not an agriculture tractor.
I use smaller kubota garden tractors and I can say first hand they make some of the best engines out there. Mine has always started in any condition and the engine hasn’t needed any maintenance even after about 30 years.
Even after 5 years I am still amazed at the power and the ridiculously good fuel economy of the Kubota engine. But they always did pay a lot of attention to the engine since that is how Kubota started out, Diesel engine manufacture in 1930's.
@@andysworld2188 Well Kubota actually started out making pipe, they were a pipe company long before they ever built engines or tractors, but yeah, they've been doing engines and tractors a long time...now if they'd just work on their orange paint turning pink problems LOL. Wonder if their newest machines do that? A guy down the road has an older Kubota BX I think a 25D and its turned to a pinkish color.
You must be from the Kubota dealership. I have a ND 1025 and even though I think I should have purchased a bigger tractor, I love my John Deere. You are not give an impartial trial and letting the customer decide. You are trying to sell the Kubota.
Sounds like a lot of upset John deere fans, you always expect John deere to be better hands down. I've drove a lot of colors in my day, and have got alot of hours in the field, and I've always felt like deere fans are just buying the colors. There is nothing special about them, people are so set on John deere, that they don't shop around, or even know what the other companies are doing. Every company has tractors competing in different categories and your depriving yourself on a lot of different options, cause your to stuck on one color. Let that sink in a little before you start getting defensive please. Another thing deere fan get really upset when you talk bad about their equipment or say another model has a better feature, quite comical really. That's evident from some of these comments.
i worked at J.I. Case in the 70s. in the experimental shop building prototype machines like the ones you just showed. we made some buckets that was self leveling. i like your Kubota. but i hope you put a seat belt on when you run the machine. if you flip the machine with OUT a seat belt you will rattle around like a BB. also its best to have a hard hat that roll cage is WAY harder than your head.
The Deere 3E comes only with HST transmission! I believe the Deere 3D is the same tractor but only comes with the standard transmission and is about $1500.00 less than the E series!
Two years on, JD has finally woken up to Kubota taking away money with the L series. They finally, finally have a tractor and package coming in at near the same price as the Kubota. The only diff in JD wants $3K down and interest free while Kubota just needs a credit card and you get your interest free payments.
I used to do costume combining and I can tell you that John Deere is light years behind CaseIH. I don't know why so many people love that junk underneath that green paint
Raymond Reyes Go watch some Forestry machines I call it old man porn. I needed a boom for my tractor and started watching a bunch of these and a hour later I watched a bunch of these. Tree grinding implements whole tree grinder in seconds ..awesome stuff.
John deer quality is gone ,and to say from the weak steering gears powder coat paint that falls the mowing deck that keeps cracking in different spots after fix /weld the cracks I find to the plastic hood that broke apart into a thousand pieces when I raised it ...yeah I'd rather kubota
People take a while to catch up. John Deere has been gone for many years now. I live in farm country. I watch the guy to the South of me spend half his day in a field wrenching on a $75K JD. The guy to the North is in a $75K Case actually farming in the field. Those who know, know.
I'm still patiently waiting for someone to release a pickup truck with a plastic hood. Clearly deere is a trailblazer and knows something Detroit doesn't
Had an L series Kabota when I lived on our farm and It was one tough machine for its size . JD makes a good tractor also but I hate the fact that they are now making just about everything that is green on them out of plastic ! Kabota hasn't gone that way yet and I hope they never do .
One of the farms I keep up swapped from a John Deere 5085E to a kubota M7060 grand cab. The kubota rides rougher, A/C is horrible, rear hydraulics are much slower, joystick is way too high for comfort. I have found absolutely nothing I like better about the kubota. The only thing I really do like about the kubota is it doesn’t belong to me. I have no clue how they ever sold more than one of these tractors.
Tell me sell Kubota without telling me you sell Kubota. Honestly all your points were personal preference and wanting to sell your brand. Why bash John Deer? Because that is your direct competitor. They are both good tractors. You don't have to bash the competition, makes you look petty. But your a salesman so any honest person takes what you are with a grain of salt.
I graded as a business for years. Looking to buy another tractor. I had a glide shift L5030 and a New Holland TC45. I will never buy a hydrostatic transmission. Didn’t start with a hydrostatic, can’t do it.
Honestly I own a L3800 and it's fantastic but I do not bash the competition. You Like your John Deer, Koiti, Massy, whatever, I love my Kubota that's all there is to it. Buy what you need and like I say. They all have good points and bad points it's as simple as that. So what can you live with at what it costs?
Why didn’t you just say this was a personal slam against John Deere verse Kubota. This is 90 percent opinion. Have you ever actually owned a John Deere. I started with a Deere and tried others Kubota, Mahindra, and I am back to John Deere. Better utility and better quality. This was a loader full of crap.
