The Tenet Cycron always had me carried through SP circuit because of the consistent crits and the infinite ammo. Although the Kuva Nukor can be just as good when you get crit chance from other sources like Red Shards, Harrow's 4 and Arcane Avenger, I ultimately like the Tenet Cycron more because I'm a huge simp for battery weapons.
Way back when I first started playing, the cycron has always stood out to me from the very beginning; I first got intrigued by it being some kinda energy pistol that could then be thrown like a glaive thanks to my misinterpretation of the "plasma throwing pistol" in it's description; I initially thought it was a "plasma throwing-pistol" rather than the real meaning "plasma-throwing pistol"; that really made me curious what kinda gameplay a "throwing-pistol" would be and I eagerly grinded to get it ASAP Obviously once I got it, I was a little disappointed I couldn't yeet it like a boomerang, but ultimately I fell in love with it so when the Tenet version came along, it was a wonderful time Quite possibly my favorite weapon in the game; not necessarily because it's the strongest, or the most fun, but because I have the closest bond with the cycron "family" and having the nostalgic bond with it and being able to see it's ascension to a Tenet form; I still really hope they release a new version or incarnon form where you can finally throw it 😂
Main point is Punch Through and battery on cycron. Punch Through multiplies dmg, status, etc on chaining weapons. Nucor needs Punch Through from riven/mod and wastes the slot.
However it can also do much better with outside sources boosting it. Arcane avenger will do significantly more damage than the cycron, and it having 2 more status types than the cycron could makes it significantly better as a primer. Nukor is more versatile, Cycron is slightly better at damage dealing. I agree with fol because the versatility is more important than damage dealing as a secondary, but the cycron IS still so incredibly close that it doesn't matter.
I have a slight preference for Cycron despite its marginal inferiority because Nukor chugs through its ammo in no time, and I don't want to care about ammo on a primer.
If you also wanna have control on your stats you can also use Gaze Kitgun because you have two arcane slots, you can make it as battery weapon, can get you 100 crit and 100 status build, and since you can make it as battery weapon your exilus slot can be use for Ruinous Extension. Also have puncture damage take advantage of the new puncture rework recently as crit boosts.
cycron is better because you never have to reload, so you pull it out and its already fully loaded and ready. rest is irrelevant given how similar they are
Yeah, that is pretty big. Nukor also does a LOT of damage, but I find that I shoot shorter bursts and less to save on that ammo. It is quite a big thing to never have to worry about it.
What tou havent mentioned is that you can put on impact on the weapons, and then have hemorrage to have both slash and impact, giving you 2 element instead of 1
kuva nukor is mainly for primer but tenet cycron is mainly built for pure DPS (viral heat setup with galv mods and faction mods) and with cascadia flare this weapon is broken the first i got is nukor then only i get cycron now i know the huge difference in power between the two i dont use nukor anymore my cycron built as my main weapon can kill / delete huge crowd of enemies (from level 1 to 500) in seconds and when i use wisp this weapon just became a divine weapon when u use breach surge + eclipse + 300 ability str + cascadia flare and the main difference is that nukor as a chain weapon is counted as AOE so the ammo problem applies and eventually u have to run around like an idiot to find ammo but for cycron u can just camp one spot shoot an recharge and dont have to move ever again My cycron has potential to hit up to 6 billion damage when using breach surge and eclipse combined
Ive been looking at the cycron for a few days, but im thinking of going for impact projentor, then you run hemorage mod for slash procs, and a riven instead of your viral setup. Getting viral priming from companions is easier than ever. Or get it form the riven

I would recommend Radiation progenitor for the cycron, radiation has bonus damage to alloy, provides an extra 120% damage from galvanized shot, and disables eximus aura effects
because the cycron has that higher crit chance i like building it for crit then running a frame which can easy get over shields or one with pillage subsumed. Then running the arcane that states "while over shields are active get X crit chance" (forgot its name) this more often than not lets cycron orange and red crit, with stacks, all the while still applying status.
I feel like for pure status proccing, the cycron is probably better because of the QoL it offers. However, in terms of raw DPS Nukor is probably better if you combine it with arcane avenger.

I like that they've added more chaining weapons and the Torid is currently my main, but I can't help but feel like the Amprex should be at the top for chaining, it just makes too much sense for an electric weapon, similar to how Napalm Grenades/Nightwatch Napalm/regular Torid etc. just make sense. I wonder what an adapter would look like, but I feel like we'd sooner get a Prisma, similar to Lenz/Ohma. Would be cool if it's niche was chaining ridiculous distances, and even arcing the beam to get around corners. Could get a high chaining count, but I doubt that alone would give it a super widely applicable niche. Chaining can be more versatile than radial AoE, it could cover several foes throughout a whole room, targeting one Eximus as mobs die. As for an adapter idea: The Amprex manifests a ball of electricity, and hits enemies within a RADIUS automatically. It's a bit like that one infested tentacle gun, but radial, that could be a crazy comfort pick for high mobility playstyles too, contrasted by aiming for headshots to charge it.
Personally the cycron is better if you plan on using it for killing stuff and nukor is better for priming and it's just that simple, just with nukor as long as you have synth mods on your companion which you should have anyway then it reloads when put away, and also if you get orange crit smeeta buff then nukor slaps
sadly accel iso makes you reload too often, good thing mine comes with rads via progenitor so it could still be used for eids. creeping bullseye takes its place.
My Kuva Nukor has Heat as the valence bonus because it just appeared by chance when i was leveling stuff up in Adaro(Exterminate) So as revenge, i'll go magnetic cycron instead :)
On low level yes, but anything higher than 100 the Nukor and Cycron obliterate the Atomos. I have 2 rivens for Atomos and none for Cycron and Nukor and they're still miles ahead in ttk. Atomos Incarnon however is finally on par with them, so I'm happy with that.
@@kevindetwieler9212 i slightly disagree with you there, atomos wrecks steel path, and especially acolytes with the incarnon form and brozimes build for it. it’s high investment, but very worth it. it’s my main crowd damaging weapon. i’m consistently critting for aroun 25k against grineer on Taveuni
@@kaitrumpore7076 Before or after Incarnon? Without Incarnon adapter it definetly feels weak in comparison to the Nukor anc Cycron. However, after the adapter is installed, giving you base damage and crit increase it really does slay anything.
@@hassanawada1736 That's true. Daggers have great follow-through so they don't lose much damage when you hit a lot of targets with a single attack, and CD has great stats...I just find that I prefer other melee if I'm not doing the pseudo-exalted thing.

Its top tier, but when it comes to melee weapons there are like 20 now that perform at about the same level, and if I'm using Ceramic Dagger on all my pseudo-exalted builds then for the sake of variety I'm using something else when I'm not. Its just personal preference.
@@ayrtonyod3682 If you want a lot of elements, secondary encumber gives so many, the additional ONE will not matter. You are better off saving a mod slot by going heat so you only need to use 2 slots for viral.
@@fasihzubair481except you’re not modding for magnetic. Since it’s a kuva/tenet weapon, you can get magnetic as the innate element and mod for other things. Also, Cucumber is expensive
You're comparing apples to oranges when you're comparing the innate elements it's based on who you used to kill the initiative/lich. If you used the same person to do both the element would be the same
Their innate elements are part of the gun regardless of the liches, the liches just add another. Nukor gets far more status types because of this, with radiation and a special microwave effect already part of it with no modding or lich effects considered
tenet cycron for sure...nukor got nerfed so hard. No ammo regen...its a pretty much dead weapon. In circuit this weapon sux so much...same to bramma/zarr.
I think you are having a modding issue if 90% of the community is still saying these weapons are strong. Never have a problem with them in circuit, maybe look over your build again
Not particularly, it has some very strong damage potential, even more so with flat crit sources, and as far as status priming it is still king for elemental types. Not the best for AoE priming, that's for sure, but it gives out far more desireable status types than epitaph and can do better with encumber. Nukor is liked for being a very versatile secondary, and it is, so it's hardly overrated.

And far as dps its plenty that are just as good and better in slot, im just glad the rest of the community is so afraid of using other things/ theory crafting and continue to use "meta" and stay dense instead of getting what else is good nerfed. @zahorror4213 I never said there weren't better options, and you can't kick people from squads, nor have I ever seen people do anything of the sort. Now, with incarnon weapons, there are obviously stronger weapons, and *nobody* denies that, but give me one primer that procs anywhere near as good of status types in such a wide area. Maybe before laetum, I would say there weren't better options (or at least not significantly), but since then, I haven't heard a single person say it is the best. You must really think highly of yourself based on that last bit though
