I think Gamegenic is a fantastic sponsor for this channel, but I will never be able to forgive them that Dave is no longer shuffling cards because of the sleeves. It was always such a joy to watch him.
37:12 Dave: "This is Nikki?" The moment I knew what was in Dave's hand, and when he placed, I knew they had it. Very cool game, I love the piecing together of incomplete/imperfect information and you can see that in how the group reasoned it out in the last two rounds.
When I first saw the board I thought this was gonna be basically roll a die and move type game, but man was I wrong? Excellent video guys, really entertaining and buckets of fun.
I think that this game is similar to Hues and Cues in that a player is trying to get the other players to choose a specific color without talking. I think I would like this game a lot
So in theory, the sloth and parrot are similar abilities because you don’t have to advance the game. You would just be passing your turn to the next person
Group think meets "trick taking prediction" (you know, that mechanism where you need to predict how many tricks you'll take in the round ahead, no there aren't tricks, but it has that imperfect knowledge meets predicting what you'll reach, thing). I think this game will be attractive to a specific type of gamer for sure. I think people who enjoy those "limited communication, group think" type games (like The Game or The Mind) but who are looking for more of a 'board game feel', will like this.
8:30 How perfect it would have been if, instead of a seal, it was a walrus, so Lincoln could have said: "I am the walrus goo goo goo g'joob". In another note, this deductive modality of calculating how many colors the entire group of players has in total is similar to the game "Liar's Dice", where you have to declare if there are at least 5 dice with the number six on the table, for example.
Timestamp 18:19 / Remember on every new Day you MUST place the first Token in the first Sektor. That is realy important and makes the game much harder.
Confused, as I think you will almost ALWAYS lose? I mean, it comes down to making the count, and when looking at the card totals, you basically always need them ALL? Or even MORE? So you must get ALL the cards bought, and get maximum wild cards added to the deck.
You do actually need MORE than the 6 Yellows! The exact number of Reds or Oranges or Blues. But one LESS of the Purples or Greens. That said, the last round is somewhat academic and so the meat of this game is in the earlier rounds, trying to maximize your Experience (stars) so you can unlock lots of levels, and, of course, trying to get to exact bids for the wild cards... but hopefully not at the expense of zonking that round. We didn't get all the cards bought, nor maxed out the wilds (we had two, right?). And we had one more than we needed :)
