Automation is quick and efficient. However it will not ever command the price of truly artisan work. Machines do not care about the flow of grain or if the peice of wood even should be used for an application. There is far more to creating lasting pieces than just hogging out a piece. CNCs have a place and they are great but real craftsmanship shines well above a machine created piece.

Of course a human could.I've made legs similar to that, band saw, draw knife, spoke shave, rasp, sand paper.It takes me a lot longer than the machine to make a leg.
