I was at that race. When people saw martin truex falling from the lead, the whole crowd basically got quiet. When ol boy KB had his motor blow, as soon as people saw the smoke, everyone, even the PEOPLE WEARING #18 shirts were yelling and flipping him off when he drove by. It was a beautiful sight

Less oil pressure maybe if it wasn't making the normal amount. under rpm it might have enough. I know Reddick had the same thing he thought it was blowing up under caution then it did a few laps later

It’s very common. When under high ROM, oil pressure will stay distributed, which allows lubricant inside the engine. When the RPM drops, the engine can no longer lube and this is the result.

naaa, it's harmless.. those were tossed-out by the drivers during the previous caution laps. it's common practice during a caution pit-stop, the pit crews will give the drivers bottled water to pour over themselves to cool down, and some drivers are known to eat health bars during the caution laps. then they'll toss the bottles & wrappers out the windows knowing they'll end up at the bottom of the track.

The entire crowd at Darlington should be embarrassed for cheering when this happened. Kyle Busch had the dominant car all night besides Truex, That entire crowd must have been fans of that asshole Chase Elliott who ran out of driving talent and crashed out in stage 1.
