After a couple months of moderate to heavy use, the shocks are not leaking and they haven't blown out from hard landings. The one thing that I'm suspecting will go first, is the plastic eyelet that attaches the shock to the lower arm. It gets beat up pretty bad from rock impacts, but it's good thick plastic.
Drive it like you stole it!!! 😂 Something about these Fazers that just make you want to drive like a total nutter!! Great footage Fil, bet you were grinning from ear to ear?! I finally managed to kill my General Lee Fazer at the weekend..... She's now sitting in a sorry state of pieces on my kitchen work top! 🤕 The spur gear managed to jump out of mesh with the pinion. Upon closer inspection it seems the bearing on the spur shaft that sits flush in the rear prop shaft tunnel is totally wrecked and sloppy, also the rear prop shaft cup has melted to the bearing and has shredded through both the plastic cup, and the screw that holds it onto the prop shaft. 😬 This has caused the prop shaft to jump about and inadvertently throw the spur and pinion out of mesh! Two main problems:- Everything has fuzed together and I am unable to remove the bearing and the prop shaft cup from the spur gear shaft! Also, I can't for the life of me find out what size the bearing is anywhere, so how am I to order a new one? (the bearings so worn there's no point in measuring it as its lost its outer shell) This is a major issue with ready to runs, parts references are easy to find in kits..... not the case here. I've found a new prop shaft cup online, but even if I manage to find out what size the bearing is and order it I still can't remove the old ones from the spur shaft as they are so melted together I can't get them apart! Guessing I will have to end up replacing the spur shaft as well! It's all starting to look quite expensive now, and availability of kyosho parts is not great. Anyone out there know the size of the bearing on the rear prop shaft of a fazer mk2????? 🤔 It's also managed to eat through its 4th set of tires(these things eat rubber like nothing else I've ever experienced!) Seriously thinking about de commissioning this one now, and stripping it as a parts car. It could well be easier for me to just buy an entire new chassis kit instead, and build a new one! Bummer, cos I've had a mighty fine two or three years bashing this one! 👍 👍 👍
Wow dude, sounds like she's dunfer (funny Island saying for "done for"). 😂 Sometimes these worn out, tattered rigs end up as a good parts car, as the cost of repair can be significant. I just had to decommission my 9 year old CC01. It's just dunfer! Haha! Gears don't mesh, steering is SO sloppy and worn it makes an MB-01 look like a Ferrari Testerossa. Hahahahaha! She's dunfer. Well hey, if you decide to repair it let me know. My Fazer is due for a little maintenance, so I don't mind measuring up that bearing for ya. Just let me know! 👊🏼
@@poorboysrc Cheers Fil..... You know that, your CCO1 sounds like my Fazer! The whole front end is slop city now, after two years of heavy use! The tires are worn through, I need a new spur shaft, prop shaft cups, prop shaft, prop shaft bearings..... Also, another serious issue is the bloody hex heads have stripped on at least 5 of the screws so I currently can't even strip a lot of it down. These will need to be drilled out and replaced with Phillips screws which I prefer! It's all looking like a lot of work, but at the same time I have a certain amount of sentimental attachment to this car, it's been a major part of our channel! If I can source all of the parts from the same place I will probably try to resurrect her. We still have a bunch more challenges to go, but we're actively comparing these two popular rally platforms. 😁 My personal choice... Fazer Mk2 all day. But don't tell Mark Bryan. Lol!
@@poorboysrc yeap seen them.lol.decided to go with the fazer. I got a trx4 to finish and a mo8 to start so no kits for now.plus the fazer already has bearings and oil shocks,stuff I'll want to swap in the tt02.
