Hiya Mikael. Yeah what I did with this was to write down all the things I wanted to say and then record the voice track without any video. I then went through and found clips that went with what I was saying. Also the voice audio is better with the USB mic than the GoPro mic. Anyway many thanks for your kind feedback. Yay! My comment got posted! Sorry mate, I've been leaving short messages because 90% of my comments over the last week or so have been deleted - lots of other channels have said that they haven't got my messages, too! :-/ So now I think I can write something (hehe but you did say to just say hello in the description!) What a very thorough and entertaining review - I would say that overall this is a very fine RC to own. Does a lot of things very well, with only a few minor drawbacks. Excellent running footage and cool slomo shots, my mate. Good idea to compare it to a couple of other RC's. If it were cheaper (and I had any money!) I'd definitely think about getting one. Anyway, enjoy Sunday, I assume we will both be watching the tele later, even if we're not crazy football fans! 😎

Hiya matey. That's annoying about the comments getting lost. The same thing happened with comments that Derek left me on another video. I got a notification saying that there was a comment and when I go to the video it isn't there. I don't know what the answer is. Anyway many thanks for your comments now that they are here. This RC is good in that it's the same sort of weight as the Tamiyas so can run with them without smashing them up like the heavy Arrma's. Rob will have to watch out when you have your Agrios. I think that will flatten everything. Yes I will be watching the football later. Whatever the result I probably won't watch any more football until England are in another big contest. Enjoy the rest of Sunday mate. Best wishes to you 😁

Hiya Derek. Many thanks for your kind words my friend. I can't remember if I was talking to you about this one when we met but I actually typed up a script for this. It took a while but probably saved time in the end as I messed up the voiceover fewer times than normal. I put the voice track in the editor first and then found clips that went with what I was saying. I'm planning to do one about the Arrma cars but I'm putting it off because I know it will be hours and hours to make it. Hope all is well with you matey. I've sorted out that FAV. The person who built it had left out various screws and a few other things needed attention. I'm happy with it mechanically now but I'd like to sort the paint out eventually. I've videoed me tinkering with it. Just need some run footage to go with it. Went well around the garden 😁

@@PeteWylieRC Firstly, I'm glad you got my comment this time. Marks comment had been removed from my latest video last night and I only knew he'd left one because I had the email notification. He said it's happened to him a lot recently. Also Peter told me that he couldn't see my comment on his video even though he'd had an email notification. It's beginning to really annoy me. You did explain how you were going to do, or did this video when we met up and you've done a grand job. I know the amount of time and work you've put into it and it's really paid off. Just reading some of the other comments is proof of that. I'm sorry about the missing screws on the F.A.V. I had no idea. I didn't give it a thorough going over when I got it. I just made sure it ran ok and peeled the stickers off the front. I only ran it once for my video and photographed it. It had been in a cupboard since then. You should make your Arrma video a two or three part series. 👍

@@hollyhillrc Yeah that RU-vid comment thing is annoying. I did watch your video and hit like but I didn't get round to leaving a comment before it went on to the next video. I will comment in a mo. With the FAV video I did say that although I bought it from you, you hadn't actually built it so I wasn't blaming you for the missing screws :-) I am happy with it because having the Wild One shocks and the engine and bits make it worth the money. Oh wait till you see the state of the piston tops on the rear shocks. I was wondering why there was no damping and basically it's because they were worn out and nowhere near touching the sides! I'll send a pic on Messenger. All sorted now :-)

Hi Damian. Yeah this does win on looks. Just not one that you can beat up like the Granite. It's a shame that they don't do some alternative shells for the Granite like the old American trucks like the Outcast. Come to think of it the Outcast 4s was the same size so it might fit. @@PeteWylieRC ive seen vids of people beating up the mad van and i was impressed. the granite is not as durable as people say. i have a senton 3s blx which is the same platform and ive replaced broken bumpers, body mounts and front c hubs. motor bearings went out on 2s and it has always cogged really bad. also shocks leak, dirt gets in spur gear housing and strips spurs. small pebbles get in the steering and wont turn. tires tore and got full of sand so had to change them. i dont recommend it. you can tear any rc up but there are more durable rc's than the granite. i think the slash or the pro4 is a better design. the losi tenacity tt pro is much better all around than the granite or the senton, more durable, handles and drives way better. change the outdrives to scte and your good.

Hi there. Yeah to be fair to this truck it's only been the drive cup that failed which I cover in another video. The plastic drive cups where one of the very few disappointing features on this . but i see that a metal upgrade is available from Kyosho for it . I'm looking for good all round truck to use in the upcoming snow here in Canada . 2WD is no good and the others I have are too small or are nitro . My mate did that with his TT-02B and those gears don't last long. I've got metal gears in my TT-02B but they were really expensive. Hi Pete, hope you’re keeping well. Great review and comparison to the Arrma Granite and Tamiya Lunchbox. Think looks wise, the Kyosho Mad Van has it, but durability definitely goes to the Arrma Granite, and cuteness to the Tamiya Lunchbox. Shame to body on the Kyosho Mad Van is expensive, and I suppose, it would have been nice if Kyosho provided the kit, so that you can paint the body you’re own way, rather than the same ready to run colours. Our hobby is all about creativity and expression of artistic flare. The Kyosho seems overall good and a worthy contender. As always, great video editing and presentation. Great stuff. All the best my friend and take care👌😉
@PeteWylieRC
@PeteWylieRC 3 года назад
Hiya John. Yeah it would be good as a kit and Kyosho obviously do a lot of kits so it's a possibility. I don't think that it's possible to get the finish that they got by using Tamiya paints. The problem with the pre painted one is that they currently only do that colour so no good if your friend has one too. Anyway I need to check in on the next part of your tiny kit. Hope that's going well. Many thanks for your comments my friend. Hope all is well with you 😁

@@PeteWylieRC Hi Pete, thank you bud. The Orlandoo Hunter is nearly finished, I’ve got the step 30 of the chassis, which is chassis complete, but had to do some soldering of the tiny SMD LED’s and distribution board, along with a diode test for each of the front, side and rear LED’s. So that is also complete. I’ve painted the body and installed the body details. I’ve painted the wheels and installed the tyres. Last few steps are to install the integrated receiver, ESC, light and sound unit, speaker and perform the marriage ceremony ( body & chassis coming together as one ), setup and then reveal and enjoy. Great little model, complete with 4 channel transmitter that can handle multiple models of 1/18 scale or smaller. I’ll reveal the chassis & body soon. Take care and all the best 😉👌😁

Hi. Quick question on 2s vs 3s please. I know this is sold as a 2s car but apparently the ESC can tolerate 3s? I already have plenty of 3s batteries, so rather than having to buy a 2s just for this, could I not use a 3s, and then just turn down the throttle dual rate to bring the speed / electrical load back down to behaving like a 2s car (and it will then last longer for trail runs). I run my 'pretty' cars fairly gently, so I'm not worried about getting max speeds or straining the diffs. Is my logic ok, or am I missing something? Thanks 👍
@PeteWylieRC
@PeteWylieRC 4 дня назад
Hi there. I never tried 3s in this as I didn't have one slim enough to fit in but your logic about using one and turning down the throttle sounds good. I did get rid of this after a while as the plastic drive cups shred a bit too easily. There is an upgrade available at a price. Good luck 👍
@austinrhubarb
@austinrhubarb 4 дня назад
@PeteWylieRC ... cheers buddy. Yeah, some of the reviews do seem to suggest they are a bit fragile, both on chewing the cups and also stripping the ring gears. I have some cars I don't mind going hard on and other more shelf queen types that would just get fairly gentle runs in a large carpark or smooth beach, so I figure that if I baby this one, I might get away with it. I've seen people balancing their wheels but I don't think it's worth it for this as it's just an off road basher. You don't notice when it's running.

I have already (as have many others) broken teeth off of my front diff ring gear already 😣

Oh dear so the metal gears aren't as robust as I'd hoped. I'd better take it easy on this then. Many thanks for the info.

I was also thinking of loosening the slipper to make sure that it slips before the gears teeth shread when the front wheels are jolted.

Not worth buying. Buy esrlier version and put in brushless system. If you won't break it. If you break, be prepared for long delivery time of parts.
