There's a reason Kyrie was able to lead LeBron James to the 2016 Finals. Put simply, Irving is visuospatial jazz. Think of Ornette Coleman or George St. Breux, not Goran Dragic or PatBev. The dorian stylings of a Eric Dolphy better describe Irving's game than a monotone listing-off of conventional basketball skills. Ball handles? When you're in constant tune with the precise Hz pitch of the hardwood like Irving, English words like "good handles" cannot encapsulate even a fractoid of the scientific and metaphysical majesty of Kyrie.

My biggest takeaway from Kyries and Stephen As feud is the shift of the perception towards the workforce within generations. Stephen A believes- if you are getting paid good money to do your job you better show up because you have teammates, fans, and a whole organization relying on you. You signed up for this so unless you’re injured you better show up. Kyrie believes- that is slave mentality; just because I’m getting paid to do my job doesn’t mean I have to forget about what I believe in and not put me and my families well being first. He believes Stephen A is a puppet because Stephen A will do whatever for ESPN. Kyrie believes Stephen A is puppet because Stephen A voice holds weight because ESPN says so. Stephen A will continue to be the personality he is because it generates revenue for ESPN, but as soon as he says something that jeopardizes ESPNs business (even if its something he believes or something for HIS well being) he would get cut off just like anyone else. Stephen As philosophy is do whatever it takes to protect your job/money because that is what got you to this point of success(This is the pre 2010's gen mentality) Kyrie’s philosophy is do whatever you feel is going protect your well being even if it may jeopardize your pay in the future or how your boss views you. (New generation “job is slavery mentality) I understand both point of views but the main thing from all this is that we are witnessing mentalities of two different generations bumping heads. Underneath all of this we can relate thats why its hard to disagree with everything both sides are saying

It has everything to do with being a good, dependable teammate who doesn't disrupt the team chemistry because he can't get his way. He couldn't replicate what happened in Cleveland when he was given the opportunity to be the franchise player. He did the same thing in Boston. There was one season Boston made the playoffs while he sat out. He came back to the team in the middle of the playoffs, threw them off kilter, and they were ousted. Chronologically, he's an adult. But I agree once he got to Boston, he basically knew himself that he can’t lead a team. Most guys with his skill set and arsenal can’t because he doesn’t make anyone else better around him.
