I'll admit as a Mavs fan I was anxious as all get out when Kai came to Dallas. He drew a lot of negative attention in Brooklyn, and the last thing I wanted was that negative attention resting on my Mavs who were already struggling to get positive media attention, despite having a generational talent and one of the best, if not the THE best, player in the league on the team. Color me surprised when Kyrie Irving turns out to be one of the classiest, most wholesome human beings I'd ever seen in sports. He seems humble but confident, even-tempered, and like he's been a genuinely positive veteran presence in our locker room. I know for sure he's had significant influence on Luka, who I feel has actively and visibly matured this season, and everyone seems to love him as a teammate, on this team and on his past teams.
