Hey Tony I just finished retuning my ZVX and oh my, does it sound spectacular!! It is louder at the same volume, crystal clear, more details coming through, bass sounds quicker, tighter and more impactful. Thought you may want to try it. I am hand cutting thin square pieces of low density foam which I need to stop eyeballing and start measuring. They are probably 4.5 - 5mm. Put one in nozzle and replace original filter with a Tanya. I don't have a rig so I can't tell ya how they graph. I'm OCD so I listen to everything over and over in each ear, then together, using Tru Clarion tips, the biggest bores I have. I started with a slightly bigger foam then cut down until I liked what I heard. I've never seen tuning foam to compare but you know what you're doing 😁😁 let me know if you try it!! You created a mod monster. Lol. I can't afford to buy anything right now soI'm going through all my IEMS and modding all the ones I think could use it. Those little foam pieces are miracle workers. Some day I'll get a rig. It's Killing me not to be able to measure. I can hear all the cars zooming by your window. So CLEAR! I did the same with the SGOR Venus. Didn't plan to but I lost a filter cleaning them. Didn't think it needed to sound better so I didn't expect much, I was wrong. They also sound considerably better. 🎉 Ps any idea what the grade is for the KZ filters? They are pretty thick. Going to replace the temp micropore I was testing on Castor, which of course, also sounds amazing m
That's a beautiful cable. This IEM looks beautiful. I really like those versions of KZ so I'm sure I'll like this one. Especially if it's now competing with the Waner and Hola. It probably has that metal shell timbre too. Idk if that's a thing but I'm very interested in this one even more knowing it has a metal shell plus that quality. Usually there is a sound it seems that comes with metal shell IEMs I find pleasing.
Nice review. Thanks for simply explaining Zobel. My impressions are the same with Zvx vs CXS, ZVX is a bit more matured, with more natural highs set (even if graphs of both looks almost identical)
When's your ranking/ recomendation list coming up? Also i think you could invest in squig link. You already do your measurments. It's a matter of posting them. 😀 I think it could be very good for your channel.
And you right. If the back is open on an iem . But the driver faces the nozzle without air passage . Then, it makes no difference open back or closed. Only if there is a chamber and the chamber have access to the back side, it makes a difference
I wish they make drivers with underhung magnet gap or copper sleeves in the magnet gap , That would really linearize the magnetic response of the driver not just impedance linearization as with the RC network, At the expense of tolerable efficiency decrease.
Hate paper filter inside the nozzle. After some sweat and wax. That iem would not last long until you open the grill. Remove the filter and change it. And you find that paper filters is hard. Easy with sponge filter. But sponge filter can muddle the tone.
@ivn I don't think so. Because I heard they have a frequency crossover. Most expensive iem . Like a American brands or Europeans use a crossover to control the tuning without sacrifice the air flow of the driver. For me kz has to much treble for my loud volumes . For.medium volumes they perfect
Unique design.I was looking at the 100 price bracket , i'm between hexa,jd7 and s12 ,what do you think?I like forward vocals and hate sibilance.Greetings
One thing I learn from kz. When they update drivers. Like their ba mini drivers that only only works at 1%. Their update was black paint. So when comes to their dd. Wonder what they called upgrade. Maybe a dot of paint. Kz way. I wonder who makes decisions there. Should be fired long time ago when kz was going in the right direction before . Personally after i found that 17 of my iem their drivers was not doing nothing. I gave them all away. Apart from the cra that I place a high density filter sponge inside the filter ans sounds great for loud volumes. Was to Bright for loud volumes at normal tuning
