È un canto tradizionale Grico-salentino, che rientra tra i canti d’amore della Pizzica salentina, dalla melodia nostalgica e struggente di una coinvolgente dolcezza, tutta mediterranea, arrangiato da Christina Pluhar per le voci di Katerina Papadopoulou e Vincenzo Capezzuto. Ha compiuto il suo viaggio di ritorno la rondinella, tornando dal paese lontano in cui emigrò per fare il nido e allevare i piccoli e, seduto sulla spiaggia, chi canta le chiede se per caso è passata dove sta la sua famiglia e arde dal desiderio di sapere come stanno i suoi ma soprattutto la sua amata. Ma la rondinella non si cura di lui, continua imperterrita nei suoi voli irrefrenabili per il cielo sul mare e a lui, che la interroga e vorrebbe sapere, s’abbuia il cuore e quel che lo circonda. Tra gli strumenti musicali, di una singolare varietà, vi sono anche l’arpa, il liuto e la lyra, e il testo è straordinario per la sua rarità e preziosità linguistica, in una parlata da ritenersi ormai perduta. Grazie per aver specificato che la canzone è salentina, cantata in giro salentino che però non è una lingua del tutto morta , nei nove comuni che comprendono la grec'ia salentina... e una lingua parlata in parte ma più dagli anziani ... bella questa interpretazione ma bisogna dire che a parte qualche strumento diverso e stata eseguita e arrangiata molto simile a quella della versione originale dei Ghethonia , gruppo di musica popolare gri'ca ...SALENTINA...VIVA SALENTO...

Cette chanson me rappelle mon grand-père décédé quand j'avais onze ans. Comme un énorme coup de poignard dans le cœur, j'en ai la gorge serrée. J'ai grandi dans sa ferme, à regarder les hirondelles faire leurs nids entre les poutres de l'étable. Ça fait tellement mal le temps qui passe ! Merci pour la traduction.

Beautifully song beautifully sung. both voices in sync with each other. and the variety and quality of the traditional instrumentation is worth high praise on it's own. I have listened to many many Christina Pluhar arrangements and this one just confirms her talent in putting together musicians and singers to provide the best quality listening and viewing there is.
