L'Oscurità dell'ignoto in English means 'The Darkness of the Unknown'.

The writing for Xemnas has to be one my favorites like out of all the villains, his dialogue is just amazing. “As your flesh…bares the sigil, so your name shall be known as that, of a recusant.” The recusant sigil on his chest will become a part of him when he becomes their 13th vessel, meaning his name will have it too. Making him essentially named after the rebel who betrayed them (Roxas) again, but also having the sigil that is recognized to be part of Organization XIII, and Xehanorts obsession with the X-blade. Xemnas, always at it with the clever wordplay.

The amazing segment in 1:50 is haunting, tragic and sinister. It’s like how Sora is so wrapped up in whooping Xemnas’s ass for his atrocities he has committed, but he’s so caught up in his darkness that he doesn’t realize he’s falling further and further into the trap. The organ at 2:01 was like Xehanort’s tentacles wrapping tighter and tighter around Sora as he tries and fails to escape.

Recusant = Someone who won't bend to the rules of authority. In other words Xemnas is foreshadowing how he wants to make Sora obey him, by turning him into a vessel for his heart. Creepy.

I am deeply impressed with the amount of effort that was put into the soundtrack of this game, (sigh) wow.

i dont know many times segment 1:20 - 1:50 has been used on the Kingdom Hearts ost since Kingdom Hearts 2 but god dammit i always love listening to it in every single one!

2:00 - 2:05 that part right there is so haunting all by it's self. It's like the little hint of madness deep down in the mind of Xemnas (or rather the original Xehanort's madness).

I didn't realize it at first, but part of Terra's theme is playing in the background of this track.

Kingdom Hearts has the best battle music of all time! And this theme just made me remember why I enjoy listening to ost's.

Darkness of the Unknown is undoubtedly my favorite boss fight OST. Hearing the violins here just AAAAAAA so good.

When 1:21 came on in the battle, I experienced the biggest nostalgia bomb of my life. I love you KH. :)

He's referring to the X on Sora's chest. Furthermore, since Kingdom Hearts takes a good part of its symbolics from catholicism, the localization team saw fit to use "recusant" instead of "heretic". The "Recusant's Sigil" is called the "Mark of Heresy" in Japan, which you may have seen if you watched some of the subbed scenes of 3D.

Gotta love how discordant and broken this feels compared to the original 'Darkness of the Unknown'. It's essentially an embodiment of all the doubts Xemnas ever felt throughout his journey. "What if the pieces of me don't match the box? What if I'm not who i truly believe i am?" Am i Xehanort.... Or am i Terra?

Because Xemnas is the same kind of Nobody as Roxas and Naminé; he is made of the essence of the original being, but has a mind and will of his own. Being the Nobody of someone who never truly existed made him what he is. "Ansem" (or Xehanort's Heartless, as I usually call him) is Master Xehanort in Heartless form; when he broke free from Terra's body, the remaining scraps of Xehanort's essence haphazardly combined with Terra's still-hijacked body to form Xemnas.

First the lasers from his palms, now he can throw skyscrapers? Whats next? He can summon katana wielding lamposts? With heat vision?

One of the best kh themes

This is the most instantly enjoyable song in the series... which doesn't bode well for longevity, but its the one I show people first when introducing them to the astonishing world of music that is the KH series OST.

There's no better feeling than making sure the music lines up at 2:00 while you're dashing across skyscrapers to pound Xemnas' ass after he just tossed a dozen of them at you.

Xemnas themes are always top notch

I thought I'd never see the word "Xemnas", "monotone" and "voice" in the same sentence that does not include "doesn't have a". Sure, he's not as hammy as Ansem, but he's still overly dramatic. Perpetual monotone is a term more suited for Young Xehanort and his mostly constant expression we all know and love: .____________________________________________.

It's a crime this didn't make it to smash

The theme of that guy who is going through at least 3 levels of identity crisis at all given times. (pretty sure he peaks at 4.5 levels)

I'm playing Darkness of the Unkown over this masterpiece, it's almost the same time... And oh glory for my ears.... The ultimate Xemnas theme.

1:20 I remember how I kick Xemnass with paw groove. It was so damn lit, Sora, meow wow and me dancing to the beat while xemnas desperately tries to kill me. The beat I mention + the beat of the paw groove + the fact I _was_ frightened of him: my most lighthearted experience in the game. Square-square-X-spam. Awesome...

Just beat this game on proud mode and this is by far my favorite soundtrack of this game considering it reused the same elements of xemnas's old OST in kh2 such a beautiful game

You can theoretically do that with every boss. What you actually need is skill and timing.

I believe that this truly is the real theme for Xemnas During the entire track you can feel how Xemnas feels and I can't help but dislike the Re:Mind version BECAUSE it removed all of the emotion In Re:Mind it just feels like boss music but the version from 3D truly does feel like it belongs to Xemnas.
