The way his character works remind me of 00-01 The Rock, he was the top babyface but still managed to bully everyone, even when bullying another face, and still got cheered by the crowd.
@@B3Band I don't think Cena would be a spotlight hog like he was, if HHH was head of Talent at that point. Notice the whole roster has been getting love, and if you pay attention our opinions have more effect on the story than we ever had before. Vince did not care what we thought, he only chased the $, and HHH is so smart for giving us more power over the show's direction, it is paying off.
Excellent take, whole model is “they didn’t believe in me so fu*k em’, I’m a star cuz I say so” and that’s facts. I wouldn’t give a da*n if he didn’t speak up
@@DK_Vandaryn Johnny Cage had a reason to be cocky. Becasue he was a world class martial artist and top level movie star. The real comparison is they are both white guys wearing sunglasses that dont really exist.
Knight has excellent instincts for how his character is presented, Cena gets it and has the improvisational skill to meet LA's energy. It is kind of a shame they don't get to work together more often as Knight is the same kind of Babyface with an edge that Cena can be when he really embraces roasting his opponents on the mic.
If you notice when he’s talking about the person that said it “that’s John Cena you should be raising his hand” There was a little lisp in his voice when he said and it sounded just like Cody Rhodes. Knights does impressions very well and probably didn’t even realize he was doing it. It wouldn’t be someone in creative because they already planned this out. So it would have had to been another wrestler. Rhodes meant well but Knights approach to his character is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE and you’re right it would have made absolutely no sense for him to raise Cenas hand. Knight did it later on and acknowledged he remembered the person telling him so it clearly wasn’t anything heated. I’m just speculating it was Rhodes because of the voice and sounds like something he would say because his approach is 100% babyface. Knight approach is completely different because he got over as a heel and hasn’t changed much haha
He was just saying like when you meet a legend you should be the one honored to reach out and shake their hand. Not he should of actually raised cenas hand
Cena may be the big star, but LA Knight is not an amateur. He is a veteran wrestler, so he should be able to speak his mind and trust his own experience.
@@savythepope6133 The misconception is that you have to be in WWE to be considered a big deal. Look at Sting, DDP, AJ Styles, Bullet Club, Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, etc. They are grizzled veteran wrestlers in their own right.
@@spinmaster0 LA Knight is like none of those guys you mentioned. And those guys are main event veterans before they got to Wwe. LA Knight just became a main event talent
@@savythepope6133 I am not talking about 'main event talent'. I am talking about being in the wrestling game, and Eli Drake has been a wrestler for a long while now, enough to know how the game works. Otherwise, WWE would not have come after him.
People just don't understand how amazing proper healthcare has gotten now days. Nutrition, TRT, probiotics, and all these breakthrough medical advancements, even just in the last 10 years. You look at wrestlers from the 1980s and they look 50-55 at 30, and they're retired at 40. Vince wouldn't let "Macho Man" wrestle after 40 because he was "old", so he went to WCW. Now days, 40 is a lot of these guy's physical prime.
I was about to call BS on that Damian Priest claim of being the same age as Knight Holy heck he is… I’ve spend the past 2 years thinking that he was in his late 20’s or early 30’s *TOPS* 😲
I actually found out his age from Priest. Met him at an event, told him “man you’re like late 20s or early 30s right” “Don’t burn your body out but your a top card and have so much career left” He said “thanks, but I’m 40, I appreciate your compliment on how old I look though” Told him “what no way” and I Googled it right in front of him and sure enough he was 40. That was a year ago, give or take a month or two, so he’s like 41 now. I’m 39 and no matter what I do I’ll never look 10 or 20 years younger.
LA knight is a not rookie!!!! He know what hurts his character and benefits him. What’s benefit him it’s beneficial too wwe. Should of been their long time ago but he is their now. The Aj and knight perfect for the next step. Next rumble is his !!!!
@@damonestephens8722and cash in after clash at the castle on whoever wins between priest and drew? If so, I would have to agree because that match seems to be planned already and if he would try to cash in on Cody he wouldn't win because they have plans for the universal title already laid out for the next year or so most likely
The man Shaun Ricker absolutely should raise John Cena's hand, but the character LA Knight absolutely would not raise his hand and is angry you suggested it
@@famousstranger8468 cena has said it in interviews that when he originally debuted his character shouldnt have shaken undertakers hand after his first match. it showed he couldnt understand a character at the time and almost cost him his job in the long run
LA Knight is honestly my favorite wrestler in recent memory. He feels like he walked right out of the end of the attitude era/beginning of the ruthless aggression era. So entertaining, and straddles that line of heel that everyone loves.
The LA Knight character have been a heel thats cheered the entire time that doesnt insult the town and audience he's in, if he's not cheered, he'd be a great heel to watch and boo tbh
I know Linda. She obviously brings a lot of experience in trading to the table but more importantly I think she is a tough person in an industry that demands clairvoyance.
LA Knight did the right thing here. Cena tried to steal the spotlight so-to-speak like he and The Rock tend to do when they put someone over (i.e., 'you went over, but only because I let you, I'm the bigger star, etc.'). Knight doing this was to preserve his character arc as the next Top Guy.
Be yourself? Like Jungle Boy in AEW? LA Knight has maybe 1-2 years left dude he's old. He's lucky Cena is part-time. Full time Cena would have buried him. Just ask Dolph Ziggler
LA Knight (in my opinion) would actually fit astonishingly well in the ruthless aggression era. In ring skills, mic skills, I honestly can’t see him do any wrong
Alot of folks don't realize he so well known in the business.....he's in been in the industry for over 15 years and has been working with WWE for over a decade
thank god cena wasn't active at the time. otherwise, la knight would've gotten buried or released😂 cena is a good person, but i've heard backstage stories where you piss cena off and you'll get punished and fired by vince.
First off john has been in the business for a whike he has been heel and face so he knows how to work a character and second he knew that ĹA Knight had to play his part that is why john was okay with it backstage either hasnt been in the ring or hasn't been in a while so they dont know what is going on so hats off to them both
I remember that and I thought it was really cool for la knight to be like nah nah and raise cenas hand instead. I remember cena saying at the post press that moment caught him off guard but really appreciate the respect from la knight and was happy to have the chance to work with the guy. I also remember the journalist asking cena all the questions and cena got testy asking if anyone has a question for la knight lol. It was cool to see that show of respect from la knight though. The fact that cena knows many consider him one of the greatest of all time but would prefer to raise the hand of those he is in the ring with rather than have his own raised. Is really cool.
