@@rylandspencer yeah no more NFL there but still a beautiful stadium. Top of my head I'd like to go to Lambeu, Soldier feild, the rose bowl and the LA Coliseum for the history, Century Link and Arrowhead for the atmosphere, the Superdome for both, and some of the newer stadiums for the marvel of them. I'm sure I'd add way more to the list if I sat down and thought about it. I'm from Boston so I've been to 2 Patriots games including the recent wildcard game, gillette is a really cool stadium just with the bridge and lighthouse, and I've been to 3 red sox games, and just being inside Fenway Park gives you chills
Grew up in pasadena I learned to drive in the rose bowl parking lot and I saw my first college football game here and got a chance to go on the field and play with the band
Took in a GB-LA game mid 70's while stationed in camp pendleton. Beautiful stadium. Biggest surprise was walking into the stadium and seeing how far the field was below ground level
I'm a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan, and I love the Cotton Bowl. But the George Allen-era Rams were simply awesome..... and so is this legendary old California stadium. R.I.P. NFL🏈
Just wonderful. I always enjoyed seeing the California sun, lighting up televised Raiders home games in the colosseum on dark nights on the east coast. A special place for certain as fewer stadiums will ever look this way again.
@@jaimesandoval1988 right and the NFL sacrificed all that to hold Super Bowls in the Rose Bowl all the way to the 90s. It’s only in today’s overly corporatized age that sacrificing modern amenities for a classic location would be considered impossible. People used to care about tradition and aesthetic, now it’s sadly all about money.
I’ve always wanted to come here. It was this and the OLD Yankee Stadium. Now that Yankee Stadium has been gone,I would do ANYTHING to visit this historic stadium!
Nice video. I've seen a fair share of events in that stadium and have to agree it's a wonderful place with a lot of memories for me. I've seen the Dodgers, Trojans, Rams, and my favorite, Track and Field. I think the most memorable event I ever saw was the night they honored Roy Campanella with a special night and played an exhibition game against the New York Yankees with over 90,000 in attendance. I was only 10 years old at the time. A Memorial it truly is.
Went to that last Rams game there. Got to go down on the field after the game. I snagged a piece of the endzone grass as a souvenir. It was a sentimental moment at the time, but now I have blue grass I have no idea what to do with. Thanks Coliseum, bring on So-Fi
I'm just a boy from europe... For me this is the most beautiful building in the world. I traveld 2 days to see this iconis stadium. For me to watching this video, was impossible to see without tears. I'm so greatful to living in the world where this kind of stractures can connect people for centuries
My dad, who is a Rams fan, was lucky enough to go to LA and was lucky enough to bring me and my brother along. We saw the Rams beat the Saints 27-9 in week 2 of this past season. Was on my dads bucket list to see a Rams game at the LA Coliseum, and he did. What made it better is the Rams beat the Saints because, maybe rightfully so, the Saints fans really pissed him off with all their whining and complaining.
Not at all, name one stadium in the world that has the pedigree of events the coliseum does. The only other that comes close is the rose bowl. The old Yankee stadium used to also be in this category but now it’s gone
I was there for a Stones show, when Prince was booed off. That sure soured an otherwise important day for me. The Who the following year with the Clash was memorable. I missed the Springsteen show here in 1985. I was able to catch the tour at Mile High Stadium in Denver though on his 36th birthday. Fond memories of shows, especially at the House of Trojans. Beautiful home!
Interestingly the LA Coliseum didn’t always host past Super Bowls in LA. Some were played at the Rose Bowl (including LA’s last Super Bowl in 1993) and some at the Coliseum
In 1960 the Los Angeles Chargers win 52-28 vs The Oakland Raiders at the L.A.Coliseum. Then again in 1960 the L.A.Chargers beat the Oakland Raiders at Candlestick stadium in San Francisco. Los Angeles Chargers 41 Oakland Raiders 17 Da Da Dah Dah Da Charge!!! ⚡️🐴 🏈
The Old Yankee Stadium? It has hosted both a meeting front he pope and , (more importantly) the 1958 NFL Championship game, also known as the Greatest Game Ever Played!
@@fentearih7242 Alianz is pretty cool to see at night while driving past it on one of the two Munich Autbahns next to it, but Berlin's Olymiastadion is closer in class to the LA Memorial Stadium for Germany.
This video did not mention two great moments in her history. 1. UCLA played here for over 50 years. And 2. The event that puts this stadium on a level no other stadium can come close to. Ponch and Jon pursued a suspect on their motorcycles in the Coliseum. And even jumped through the peristyle on their bikes just like the super bowl of motocross races.
The Chargers name and logo was created and originated in Los Angeles with a USC L.A.Memorial Coliseum historical connection and Tommy Walker aka”Tommy Trojan”and then owner Barron Hilton. The Chargers name originated from the USC football games and Tommy Walker aka (Tommy Trojan) famous historical Charge chant he created “Da Dah Dah Da“ Charge! “Da Dah Dah Da Trojans Warriors Charge! Tommy Walker then musician /team kicker helped inspire then owner Barron Hilton “R.I.P.” to name the Chargers football team from the famous Charge chant he created as a USC musician band member /team kicker. When Barron Hilton attended the USC football games the previous years as a football fan at the L.A.Coliseum he would hear the Tommy Walker Charge chant. When Tommy Walker would run out to the football field to attempt the extra point kicks as the team kicker the USC team music band would play Tommy’s Charge chant he created as the team musician and the football fans that attended the games would yell out his Charge chant “Da Dah Dah Dah Da” Charge! “Da Dah Dah Da “Trojan Warriors Charge! to motivate him to score the extra point kicks. So that’s where Barron Hilton got inspired and got the idea to name the Los Angeles Chargers football team. The proof is in the Chargers 1960 original shield logo with the horse charging into battle. The Charger is a horse charging into battle. very similar to the USC Trojan Warrior with shield and sword and horse mascot charging on to the field to battle. Hence the horse in the Chargers 1960 original shield logo. The lightning bolt idea came from Barron Hilton liking the Air Force College football team lightning bolt logo as a College football fan. Till this day that famous Charge chant is heard at the game’s and through out many other sporting game events. The Los Angeles Chargers r the true original L.A. born team now back playing in the original birthplace and not too many team’s can claim that fact. Rams were born in Cleveland 1936 and Raiders were born in Oakland 1960 And that’s a fact these other teams can’t ever claim. And also the Chargers r the true Southern California NFL team because they have never left Southern California unlike the Cleveland/ST.Louis Rams and the Oakland/Las Vegas Nevada Raiders. Let’s Go Los Angeles Chargers The true original L.A. born team now back playing in the original birthplace L.A. Da Da Dah Dah Da Charge!!! ⚡️🐴 🏈 Born in L.A. in 1960 and played their first season ever in Chargers history at the L.A.memorial Coliseum finishing the season with a 10-4 record. Da Da Dah Dah Da Charge!!!!!⚡️🐴 🏈
I'm a Chargers & SC fan😎🌴✌️🏈, it's an old stadium but my two favorite teams started out here and my high school won a CIF championship here and the super bowl was born here,so if you don't like this stadium, your passion for football at any level is questionable 🧐
I hope the eagles will win the super bowl 2021 Im the biggest eagles fan alive I jus want them to win a nother super bowl then the revans then the rams plzzzz tell the eagles player
Al Davis copied the Los Angeles Chargers 1960 original shield logo. Al Davis was part of the Los Angeles Chargers coaching staff 1960 birth season through 1962. Al Davis then left the Chargers coaching staff in 1962 to become the manager of the Oakland Raiders in 1963. Al Davis obviously copied the the 1960 L.A.Chargers original shield logo and added it to the Oakland Raiders pirate logo in 1963 because coincidentally the original 1960-1962 Oakland born Raiders pirate team logo didn’t have the shield logo in their original birth year of 1960-1962 until Al Davis joined the Oakland Raiders in 1963 then added the shield logo to the pirate logo. Raiders copy cat shield logo but the true Original L.A.born Shield logo is the Original Los Angeles Chargers battle horse shield logo. Da Da Da Da Charge!!! ⚡️🐴 🏈 Let’s Go Los Angeles Chargers! The true original 1960 L.A. born team now back playing in the original birth city L.A. Da Da Da Da Charge!!!!!!⚡️🐴 🏈
