i think the phenomenon of maceration is kinda prominent in la nuit... juice colour gets noticably darker over time... I have a 2020 bottle and a 1st reformulation 2013 and the 2020 bottle is getting closer and closer in colour to the vintage although i distinctly remember it being almost clear juice when i bought it...
I’m right in the middle have the 2013 or 2014. Lasts a really long time on me, no complaints. Even the current 2018 ones still last a pretty long time on me. Overall I guess the OG vintage is better based on performance, but I’d never pay that much to have it. Great vid bro 🙏
Can’t speak to 2016, but I got one of the “new packaging” bottles from Fragrancenet and it’s the same as it ever was. I definitely can attest that things got weak and watered down for a few years but these “new packaging” bottles with Arabic writing on the back smell like the original. Find out for yourself!
Dude, i just came back from picking up a vintage 100ml bottle for only 40$!!!! i found it on Facebook Marketplace and the seller told me allot of people were asking about it and i was lucky enough to snag it first!!! the first thing i asked him was, were people asking you to take a picture of the bottom? he replied with " everyone was asking for that " looking at me as if why didn't i ask him for it lol, in my mind, any formulation for 40$ is a good deal, anyways, he asked me why everyone was asking for that picture of the bottom, i explained it to him that there are vintage batches of this that are pretty sought after in the fragrance community and are pretty rare when coming up for sale, lucky in my case i didn't ask him for the batch code; it would mean anything cause he didn't know what a batch code was lol as soon as i saw that thick stem cap and that 4 number batch code is was like " yes!!!! " in my head and casually explaining to the seller why all the hype. The batch code for mine is 9EAB. i already have a 2017 100ml with 40ml left, as well as (2) 200ml back ups still sealed.
Have to agree, Vintage is the better version in all departments except price/ml. Having said that I think it's worth it to go old school based on just the scent alone. Great stuff!
Good review - I have a 2009 vintage bottle. Apparently, it's sought after like gold. Never tried the 2011, so maybe it's similar. The vintage scent has lasted me 30+ hours before, although most of that time was close to the skin (a very nice close to the skin, that you want to keep smelling). In general, its a little deeper and richer of a smell.
I had a 2012 formulation (when i first bought it) & got another one in 2017...only thing i noticed was that the projection was nerfed. Smell wise i couldnt really tell a difference, ig it was a lighter cooler drydown on the 2017 bottle. Its still amazing
I wear current.... go nuclear on the sprayer, spray my clothes, and it's usually a close encounter scent at night.... so current on value, wins. Sucks that it's been reformulated, though.
Hang on J but how is the reformulated version more versatile exactly? Even the vintage La nuit was by no means a projection monster or ever going to choke anyone out let alone offend them...? They were just able to smell its beatiful silage a bit more. How is having to reapply a fragrance every two hours because you cant smell it on you, let alone some dude a foot or two away from you, more versatile?
J-ROYL Each their own but the spicy nuance of the vintage was what at least to me made it so special and why it was so good and got so much love, it was never a performance beast capable of offending someone. In effect the best parts of it just like every other single reformulation that comes to mind have had the best parts taken away. By no means making it more versatile better or positive.
Been considering buying the current formulation. Never smelt vintage. Does the current formulation still have acceptable projection etc? Don't want a 4 hour skin scent
I got to smell a 2010 La Nuit a few weeks ago and I have to say, I prefer the 2012-2015 formulation. I found the 2010 a bit too sweet to my nose. Not cloyingly sweet, but a little too sweet. Never actually tried the 2016-current formulation
I have 2010 batch and its amazing with it scent and good performance but not crazy performance thou, But i must tell you that i have tried the current formulation and .. i loved the opening a little more but the performance are really SUCKS
SeniorEng Hi I have the batch 2010 OLBA and I think has an amazing opening very dark and spicy, but I don't know why it has a very low projection and logevity(may be it is expired), in other case 2014 batch 38L102 has a brighter opening, strong projection and is long lasting, I love 2014 batch.
Only say that because a lot of Ebayers will market their late 2011-2012 batches as “vintage” and charge exorbitant prices when they’re not truly vintage. 2011-2015 are still just fine though.
well said, last four digit batch is 1B** after that starting march it changed to 62H***/ his batcode is not feb as he said his batch is 62H704 which is july 2011.correct me if im wrong J-ROYL (be real with your review) :)

Same here. Not even spraying on clothes can help it to last longer. Pity as the scent is one of the best I've tried incl niche ones. I still bought it though ha ha

@@yacklimon dude thanks for answering! I can find a few 2011's for sale. My concern is, is it really worth another $100 for 2010 compared to 2011?? They would at least wear for 6hrs, right? I'm almost wondering if I would notice a significant difference between 2011 and 2010?
Finally got a whiff of this at a dept. store, really close to pulling the trigger. I laugh at the vintage elitism with frags though. It's great because if you like the scent, regardless of batch, then get it. If you've stuck around long enough to enjoy multiple bottles, you deserve to know there's a difference. If not, and you're just trying to sport vintage because YT'rs (and no one in the real world) will comment on your selection then who you really catering to? Lol
i own 2014 formulation, and compared to newest one from sephora i'd say difference is barely noticable. 99.999% people will not even see a difference when they smell it on you ;) 0.001% are fragrance snobs. what if its time that makes older formulation stronger, maybe in 8 years, 2016 formulation will be also stronger?
