Lacey Fire Department celebrates 75 years of protecting the community 

Fire Chief Steve Brooks shares some thoughts on the 75th anniversary of the Lacey Fire Dept. before their April 5, 2024 celebration event held at their former and current locations.The event kicked off at the department’s former Station 31 location on Pacific Ave. in Lacey, Wa., and which is now Pope John Paul High School. Visiting fire trucks both vintage and modern from neighboring agencies in Olympia,Tumwater, South Bay and East Olympia joined North Thurston for a short parade to the current headquarters across from Saint Martin’s University. The celebration concluded there with food, refreshments and station tours with a number of historic photos on display.
