Isabelle Newton i saw this tweet from cassandra clare (I'm not sure how long ago) and she said she kind of shipped Ty and Livvy and i have this whole theory about how Ty isn't really a blackthorn so I ship Kit and Ty the most but i guess tivvy is my backup (if it is actually incest then Ky all the way!)

I saw this idea floating around the Internet before I'd finished the book and so it was always at the back of my mind as I was finishing up the book and I noticed how people (especially the fairies) acted about Cortana so I agree that the sword is going to be the key to freeing them from the dangers of their love/ parabati bond.

Aditi Kashyap (Sorry for my english I'm german) But you have to remind that the fear of ducks comes from Edmund Herondale, Wills Father (Bane Chronicles) and Edmund isn't an ancestor of Kit because Kits side of the Herondale family comes from Tobias Herondale (who was born before Edmund) so basically he has nothing to do with the duck thing.

I was getting suspicious about Kit's role in the story, especially when they mention his blonde hair. And then as soon as those demons attacked and he jumps and was like "woah that's weird" I dropped the book and screamed "OH MY GOD HE'S A HERONDALE!!!!!" 😂 and then Tessa calls him Christopher and I knew I was right haha all the Julian and Emma tension was amazing! And I super duper ship Mark and Christina.

Kit being a Herondale made me lose my shit. The next book... UGH. I need it now. Jace and Clary running the institute was bittersweet for me because it means their growing older and that hurts my heart but it's also so sweet, just like Jem and Tessa not considering themselves Shadowhunters... I was sat in the middle of class when I read the Kieran and Mark make out scene and I had to conceal squeals, it took me so much by surprise. I thought when Cristina left, Mark was going to get beat or taken away or something, but NOPE. LOL Julian by the end was giving me the creeps, what with the whole Emma room and his lies and betrayal to poor Nightshade.): Mark and Emma, not going to lie I'm excited about that. The Jem lecture freaked me out, not good... Finding it it was Malcolm hurt my heart. I trusted him because of Magnus (got a little suspicious when he twitchy around Magnus though.) Couldn't help but sympathize with Malcolms revenge plot though. I don't trust Perfect Diego, he has that weird injury that makes me think Malcolm and his magic. The whip scene was so sad, it broke my heart. Magnus: "I've walked in on your ancestors doing worse." ANOTHER MALEC BABY. Omg. This book... I'm a mess.

I personally love Julian soooooo much. It must have been hard to take care of all those kids and he's just so strong. Also, I think I cried when Cristina said how much she wanted a parabatai and how it hurts when she sees parabatai together, because she wants something like that. But I must say that my fav part was in the extra story at the end when Magnus walks into a closet to talk to Jace and Clary. Jace: Magnus, this isn't really a good time Magnus: I've walked in on your ancestors doing worse cough cough Will cough cough Tessa *SPOILERS! LEAVE IF YOU HAVENT READ THIS PART* And Jace asks clary if she would marry him, but at the very end, Clary thinks "When they got back, she would have to give him her answer. She dreaded it" IS CLARY GOING TO SAY NO?!?!?!

Am I correct that the cover is when Emma is drowning with Cortana? I'm not sure because I thought Cortana was a short bladed sword, but o wasn't sure. It might be Annabel when the water floods her coffin, but I don't see how she would've completely floated out of her grave but there was a bunch of water so it is possible.

I got this mixed up too. Cortana look like the sword in the cover of Lady Midnight. It's Clary they had the short blades sword that she got from Diana Wrayburn in City of Heavenly Fire. (Diana used to work their before the dark war.) and it had something to do with Clary's ancestors or something.

See, I think that maybe the dark magic didn't so much affect Emma as it might have affected Julian. They can obviously feel what the others feels WAY more acutely than normal (Like Jace & Alec with the heavenly fire. That was a bit scary, especially for Alec.) and towards the end of the book Julian seemed much more aggressive, RUTHLESS, and like...demanding than he had been. What if the dark magic corrupted him somehow..? And with Emma trying to break his heart, just warping him worse. And can we talk about Ty and Kit because I have a feeling something is gonna happen with them. A storms a-brewin, I can tell.

I'm also pretty sure regarding the clave's reason why parabatai can't fall in love (because they become mad) is either A) the madness thing is false ~ it happened once and though they didn't go mad, the clave is only saying that because they're jealous of the new power that these parabatai have and therefore they forbid it. Honestly, the clave is so problematic and that seems like exactly the kind of thing that they would do. or B) this going mad thing happened once, and it turned out really badly and the clave didn't know if the madness was induced by the personalities of these parabatai or if it was induced by the parabatai falling in love itself, and it was so bad that they weren't interested in finding out as long as it doesn't happen again.

CRACKPOT THEORY: They made a point to mention at least twice that Cortana was strong enough to sever anything. Glorious severed the twinning bond between Jace & Sebastian back in COHF. What if Cortana can sever the parabatai bond? Also, I highly doubt it's a coincidence that the LAST CHAPTER was named "Sever My Soul"

+Martina Cardenas when Jace was connected to Sebastian, it was sort of like a demonic parabatai rune and all he had to do was cut through it to get rid of it. I know parabatai runes are probably more powerful but if cortana can cut through anything then it could probably also break their parabatai runes

I like the theory that Clary could create a rune that ended the parabatai bond without killing one of them. Kind of like signing the papers that finalize a divorce. It would be physically painful in the way that a dedicated marriage-turned-divorce would be emotionally painful, and then it'd be over.

I have never read a Cassandra Clare book without marathoning it. The only time I had to wait for her books is City of Heavenly Fire and i felt so disconnected after waiting a long time of it! And I had such an AMAZING time marathon reading all of the mortal instrument and infernal devices books all in a row when I first discovered her books! And I don't wanna start waiting years for each book in this Dark artifices trilogy. I just wanna marathon it after the series is finished but IM SO HYPED ABOUT IT! BUT.. BUT.. i don't know what to do now

There's the whole Sizzy engagement (I really wanted it to be Malec or Clace who where getting married but oh well). Also every time they mentioned Sebby my heart stopped. When they mentioned Hodge being a traitor so Jace and the Lightwoods I just thought you have no right. All the Emma and Julian scenes that escalated a lot quicker than Wessa and Clace. I just can't this book was so good.

I loved reading about the TMI crew in a long conversation. Also that vampire pizza delivery dude was wearing a TMI shirt! Simon's old band made it big time , that was so cool!!! Kit being a Herondale I totally guessed it, I remember reading the prologue and reading it from this random dude that Cassie NEVER mentioned before I was "yup this dude is a Herondale." and Jem and Tessa are in the prologue as well so that made all the confirmation I needed! ! You mention a boy in his twenties with black hair and a sliver streak in it that my baeby Jem!!

*LADY MIDNIGHT SPOILER* I just finished watching your Lady Midnight live show with Kat and Jesse. The part where you guys where talking about Magnus seeing Emma and Jules at a wedding and they said Aline and Helen's, but Magnus said not that one, my theory is that Magnus had like a prediction of the future similar to how in The Mortal Instruments series, he had visions a city of blood, and I believe Magnus once said he could have visions because of who his father was (not completely sure on the last part) but maybe Magnus saw them in a vision in their own marriage. Also, at the end you guys were talking about how no one realized Jules and Emma's feelings for each other except for maybe Diana, but Simon realized their feelings as well (I think that was mentioned in The Fiery Trial).
