This may be true for you but not for everyone. Mother-child relationships are just as flawed, complex, and relative as every other, and aren’t inherently more true, or more soulful. Everybody is capable of betrayal, including mothers and children. Abusive mothers exist, children who want nothing to do with their mothers exist, people who have no interest in having children or simply aren’t close with their children, fathers who have closer relationships with their kids than the mothers do, lovers in healthy, complete relationships without children, biological mothers who give their child up for adoption, etc. Distant or complex relationships aren’t necessarily bad things, either- not everyone wants or needs a powerful mother-child relationship in their life. No individual experience is any less real just because it doesn’t apply to everyone.
