How strange. Here in the states I’ve never caught carp that small. The average size here is about 5 to 8 pounds for a small one. More fun watching you then some of the channels with thousands of dollars worth of equipment! Hey Rohan, I still haven’t seen you pull in a turtle yet.
haha yeah I've seen some monsters pulled out from over there as well as the UK. It's probably because we kill every carp we catch so they don't get a chance to get that big, but I'm just guessing. Maybe our hot climate is too much for them to get that big? We also have some fairly big predatory fish in most places that carp are found, (like Murray Cod which can grow to 6 feet long) so they could help as well. Thanks so much for the amazing compliment mate!
@@RKJFishing no problem! Here in Wisconsin, we are required to remove the fish from the water, PERMANENTLY. You put it back, you get fined. And I still want to see you pull in a turtle.
I went out carp fishing on Sunday to my favourite carp spot. By sheer luck I bumped into a nice cod (small hooks and worms no intention on them). 56cm. Quick photo, minimal handling and back in the drink.
Was a great game up the mighty pie's 💪. I done well fishing as well I was camping at lake Eildon was there Wednesday and came back home yesterday all up 30 yellow belly took 2 home and 10 cod took one home was bloody amazing. Good on you for the double hook up .
The last time I brought the kids fishing, we drove four hours all the way to Eppalock and found out the whole body of water is fenced out. I don't know why and never did find out why. But it was the last time we waste time going there.
This time Rohan I must disagree with you. You missed one of the all time great grand finals. Ever. GO PIES. 😅😅 Great to see you removing some of the carp scourge though. Keep up the great work mate.
Well done mate. Lovely looking spot. I was shopping in Albury while you were filming this, buying camera gear. LOL Holly and I were amazed by how quiet the roads were. We did listen to the footy on the radio though. LOL
My Brother and I were there the weekend before the GF. Same story. Lots of bites which turned out to be tiny redfin. Fun session but with 4 carp, 1 roach and 3 tiny redfin. Great stuff!
People always ask me what I'm using, so I'm in the habit of naming what I use frequently lol. Like in my lure videos, I always say what I'm using - especially if I catch a fish on it!
@@RKJFishing You should contact them and see whether they'd be interested in sponsoring you. You've already given them a lot of free exposure, why not monetize it? A quick clip promoting their products at the start of your videos would work.
Great vide mate, floods have made the Carp population explode. It's time our useless government went electro probing and getting their numbers down a bit. Last time I was at Eppalock it was basically empty! Nice to see it full.
Thanks mate, yeah that's the highest I've seen it! The carp are out of control for sure, I guess it's up to us fishermen to do our bit! Would be nice if the gov't did something though, you're right.
@@RKJFishing Reckon they should employ commercial fisherman they have put out of business to trap fish species and thaw back the natives. Has to be more efficient than hook and line....Could clear wooded sections of the Goulburn and Murray of snags and setup specialised nets that catch anything that swims along then sort out the natives and kill the carp. It makes great fertilizer.
@@RKJFishing I mean a net that doesnt actually get them by their gills. it guides them into a small bag like net like trawlers use. Removing a few snags would be a small price to pay for getting rid of mud marlins.
