Because of Gail Goodrich, I became a left-handed jump shooter for a while, even shoot free throws with my off hand. It worked out pretty well for a while. Thanks, Gail!
Growing up in LA in the early 70s .. I was a huge Goodrich and West fan. Yes Gail was very underrated. At least he finally got his dues by making the hall of fame in 96~
I'm glad that his # 25 was finally retired. It took too long. His jersey # was worn by Mitch Kupchak & another player later on. Also there were more jerseys that should have been retired.
Too bad Goodrich was with the Suns during those '69 and '70 seasons (how did that even happen, btw???). If the Lakers still have had him during that time, two more championship banners would've been hanging from those rafters. He's among the most underrated AND overlooked Laker legends. Him and Jerry West also made for one of the best backcourt tandems in NBA history.

Gail was one of the All Time Greats in the game. College Ucla - Pros LA Lakers and Suns and Jazz. All he ever did was WIN. At all levels -College player of the Year in '65 , All NBA later in '70s and yet so underrated by many. Good Luck Gail and Always Best Wishes, even if you did beat my Michigan Team in the '65 Title game against Cazzzie and Oliver Darden and Bill Buntin

@@lloydkline1518 I remember them all. I was at the Title game in '76 when Indiana beat our Wolverines ( we had the halftime lead ). Many great teams for Michigan in the 60's and 70's /// So glad they got the title in '89
Fun fact : when the Lakers traded Stumpy to the Jazz the rules at the time dictated the Jazz give up a draft pick. That draft pick turned out to be a kid out of Michigan State named Earvin Johnson.
Wooden sounded a bit snarky for referring to Walt Hazard as Walter in his speech. In his coaching career, he went by Walt Hazard but privately, he was Mahdi Abdul-Rahman.
