I love Lakeside. "Raid", "It's All The Way Live", "From 9 Until". All of their music is just fun.

Why is this all-time classic a guilty pleasure? No one is going to question any one liking this song.

Whatever was in the water In Dayton Ohio should’ve been bottled💯🔥

When I did my first deployment to Iraq in 2005 we would jam out to old school jams.My plattoon was mostly brothers and mexicans,maybe 2 whites.WE jammed HARD!! We did a 3 month train-up at Ft Hood,Tx-WE REALLY PARTIED HARD at the HOOD!!! LOL.Drinking,parting,women everywhere!! WE were really wild!!! LOL.Becuase it was sooo BAD in Iraq at the time,we thought we might not make it BACK!!! RAID was played a lot in Iraq,because we did conduct house raids,a lot of them.When we'd visit local cities in Iraq(called MEET-an-GREETS)we'd blast old school jams over loud speakers to ease the crowds.AND it worked!!! LOL. You'd see heads boobing,feet tapping and relaxed bodies.MUSIC is UNIVERSAL!!! LOL.

The Land of Funk he is referencing is Dayton, Ohio. Home of legends like Roger Troutman and Zapp (Middletown, Ohio), Lakeside, Ohio Players, Shirley Murdock (Middletown/Hamilton) and the group Dayton among others. The Dayton Funk sound as we call it.

As they say, this was one of the jams way back in the olden days I personally prefer Parliment, Funkadelik and the like for pop funk! Check out the S O S bands Just Be Good To Me and The Gap Bands Early In The Morning! Later groovy cats!
