Now I know why Jordan smiled when he said “ Kobe was the only person who could beat him one on one because he stole all my moves”. Kobe was the little brother/son he never had. Jordan poured all his knowledge into Kobe and he absorbed it all up. I guess it’s like passing on your legacy to someone you really Iove and respect that really loves and respects you as well.

@Kolo WATTTZ I don't see how it isn't 100% true. You're clearly one of those people who think Kobe was even close to as good as Jordan, when the reality is that Rookie Jordan was arguably superior to MVP Kobe, so just imagine to what extent the gap is between a season for Jordan such as 1991. Jordan was superior to Kobe in every way outside of 3 point shooting, and even then Jordan shot nearly 35% from 3 for his prime from 1987 to 1997. He was a far superior and more consistent defender, a better rebounder, a better and more willing passer, a more productive and much more efficient scorer, a better playoff performer by a wide margin, and if you like advanced metrics Kobe doesn't come close in that regard either. Jordan has the better post game, better footwork, is more athletic, stronger, faster, has a higher vertical, the better free throw shooter, finisher around the rim, dunker, midrange shooter, and a comparable 3 point shooter at least in terms of percentages. Kobe does absolutely nothing better than Jordan. Just a cheap imitation that somehow fooled idiotic fans and even players into thinking he was just as good simply because of their striking similarities.

Who is the player that he made better? Odom is a good player before he went to Lakers, Gasol is an All Star, Ron Artest is an All Star before they even joined Kobe. After they won a championship Odom is nothing, Howard is worst is LA, they got swept by Dallas. Can’t even bring his team to the playoffs for 4 years not making the playoffs. That is in his 32-35 yrs of age. No question, kobe belongs to the top 10 at best and top 15 at worst but people now are making him look like the best or even 2nd best because or his early death.

When it comes to the GOAT conversation, what most people don't realize is that when the media and TV hosts have discussions on it and ask NBA Players who they believe is the GOAT, it's the media that believes or assumes that it's either LJ or MJ so they assume the Players who are asked, feel the same as them. That's the reason why most people who are asked that question, only choose one or the other. If they instead asked each player to name their top five greatest players, most of them would not even place Lebron over Kobe. If you truly know basketball, all anyone needs to do is watch videos of both Lebron and Kobe playing in their prime to see that Kobe was better than Lebron. How can anyone look at how easily Kwahi Leonard locks down Lebron so well and easily, that Lebron stops even trying to score. And then watch how easily Kobe scores against Kwahi Leonard. MOST NBA PLAYERS, WHETHER CURRENT OR FORMER, WILL NOT PLACE LEBRON OVER KOBE. WHENEVER SOMEONE GETS

Better is very loaded....in retrospect kobe wouldn't have had the issues that Detroit presented to jordan because kobe had 30ft range but jordan was overall a more fundamentally sound player in the way he approached a game. Jordan really only took high percentage shots; where as kobe took highly contested shots all the time.

Very loaded.. maybe dribbling and range. But overall better, no.
3 года назад
Jordan demonstrated range in several games against Detroit. To say Kobe wouldn't had those issues is incorrect in many ways. First, Kobe's game is a culmination of Michael's triumphs and failures. No Kobe without Michael Jordan. The only advantage Kobe has is he watched Michael vs the bad boys, he learned a lot from Michael. Kobe struggled against the 2004 Champion Pistons, and he had Shaq, Malone and GP...Kobe would had less success if He and Michael changed time zones
@HotGritz910
@HotGritz910 3 года назад
@Power Gear and Michael's game is a mix of doctor j and David Thompson... that goes without saying.. and I watch those games live, jordan was not shooting 30ft jumpers.. @@layparisss I mean I have always been confused about people‘s perception of what is a great basketball player when it comes to the NBA specifically. Like if you were a first round draft pick if you are not Michael Jordan level then you are a bust. People think in extremes. Yeah sure Matt Barnes wasn’t Kobe Bryant, but I would take him over a very long list of good players if I’m trying to build a team to win a championship. There are so many things that people do not take into account when it comes to the effectiveness of a player. They think strictly in terms of skill. They don’t take into consideration the intangibles which Matt always had. But even so, he still had the skill. I bet you if Matt Barnes wasn’t so obsessed with getting high all the time and he transmuted that drive into becoming the best he could’ve become one of the all-time great‘s who may be lead his own team to a championship. But it is what it is he did what works and worked for him and what made him successful. That doesn’t make him any less of a player. I could go on and on about all other players not just Matt Barnes. A lot of guys get overlooked just because they simply didn’t win multiple championships as the number one guy on their team

How is 5 championships better than 6 championships? How is losing in a finals series better than not losing in a finals series? How is winning 1 three-peat better than winning 2 three-peats? How is winning 2 finals MVPs better than winning 6 finals MVPs...in a row? How is not getting rookie of the year better than getting rookie of the year? I don't get his case 🤷‍♂️

He was better than MJ go back and watch the games. Kobe would guard the best player on the floor and give you 30. Not to mention the level of competition they had to face on a night to night basis. Kobe had to guard better players at his position by far... Mcgrady, Iverson, Wade, Ray and even small forwards like Lebron melo Paul pierce etc. Can’t go wrong with either but I’m taking Kobe💯

Nah I disagree. I would still take MJ. No disrespect to Kobe. Rip. The pistons in the 2004 finals completely locked him up.

Whoever says Lebron is the GOAT needs to watch this video. Mamba forever and don’t ever say Lebron is a GOAT without saying Kobe and Jordan. Put some respect on his name.
