Here is my easy and delicious lamb shank red wine recipe with wonderful rosemary flavours in a delicious red wine marinade sauce. This lamb shank recipe is made on the stove then left to slow cook in the oven. Making it super easy to prepare and really tasty.
The red wine gives this recipe an amazing rich flavour with super thick marinade sauce. Because it’s slow cooked, the meat simply falls of the bone of the lamb shanks. This goes perfectly served with mashed potatoes, your favourite vegetables and garnished with fresh rosemary.

Ingredients for my lamb shank red wine recipe:
- 2 White onions
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 2 Carrots
- Olive oil
- 2 Lamb shanks
- 1 tbsp Tomato puree
- 1 tbsp Plain flour
- 1 Beef stock cube
- 2 Sprigs of rosemary
- 200ml Red wine
- 1 Bay leaf
0:00 Introduction
0:12 Prepare Vegetables
0:35 Fry Veg & Lamb Shanks
1:00 Add rest of ingredients
1:52 Simmer
1:59 Place into the oven
2:20 Serve

This is one of the best recipes I have seen around and I can tell I am very particular about what people put out there. Being a chef myself I like the simplicity practicality and mix of flavours of this recipe and I can tell you it would work perfectly find, just during the frying part control the heat (not too low not too high) that is very important. You don't want to see blood coming out nor skin burning too fast so control the heat. Excellent job thanks👍

Always fry your lamb shanks separate from the veggies so you get an even coating, don't crowd the pan like this and get uneven browning because it adds so much flavor

The shanks were not properly browned when you removed, neither were the onions adequately glazed…….
