I cooked your lambs fry and bacon because 1. I never learned to cook it and 2. because I haven't had it for over 20 years. Yummo!!!! Oh how I have missed this. 10/10 Thank you for making it so easy to follow. I will cook it again and again. Now on to braised steak and onions. Keep up the great work. Simple Aussie cooking at it's best.
I put some tomato paste in with the bacon and onions. When you mix it back in with the liver it adds a little tang that reminds me how my grandmother used to make it. Great flavour!
Was given a whole lamb by my boss as a bonus. Liver, heart, kidneys, Everything. Needed something to cook tonight and this is it. Looks bloody brilliant. Thank you 🤙
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing Lamb Fry’s recipe. I followed all of your steps and it was just divine. It’s one of my favourite dishes, and I only eat it if I see it on a menu at a restaurant, but that has now changed. ❤💐😀🙏🏼
Looks delicous - and I regularly make something very similar following my Mother's recipe......yet, no matter what we cook here in the UK people still think our food's terrible! Out of interest would younger folks eat liver and onions in Australia? Sadly not many would here.....they don't know what they're missing!
😂 every house hold is different. some love it or hate it no in between. I grew up with it not much food around then werent told what it was and we didnt ask. fellow Aussies let us know if your younger folks eat it or not. have a great day robert and your food isnt terrible were all different and that is a good thing xo 😊💜🍻
Hi AG. A belated comment. My son soaks the cut strips in milk which he then uses to make the gravy. Yummy. I can’t eat much because I have too much iron in my blood (the blood bank love me LOL) but he makes it for the Mrs every few months. That second liver looked like it came from an alcoholic lamb!
Thank you for sharing the recipe. I have tried for many years to find a restaurant that will cook it but never had any luck. With your help, I am finding myself brave enough to cook it myself. I was born in the 50s and only had it when I was very young.
I lover Lambs Fry but I have always been a bit sheepish 🐑 about making it but having seen this superb version I might give it a go! What a shame you don't do home de-liver-y🚚😀!
I don’t eat liver but my husband loves it & you made this look so good I could probably eat it too I’m going to try cook it your way & try surprise my husband when he gets home from work cheers 🍻
I'm 66 years old now. My mum used to make great Lambs Fry and Bacon before i was a teen and moved away from home. I'm pretty good in kitchen but i've never been game enough to try to cook this because i was scared it wouldn't taste like my mum's, but i'm going to give it a shot thanks to your well explained instructions. I'll let you know how it turns out . Thanks for the video.
@@aussiegirlcancook Hi again , i'm starting to gather the ingredients and the first thing i can't get is the Maggi Rich gravy mix in my area even at Woolies . I can get 2kilo tubs on ebay but it's just me to feed an i know how that stuff goes hard. I wonder if you could suggest the best alternative. Thanks heaps. Regards David.
@@davidyoung800 ive only been using that gravy the last 15 years or so before that i always used gravox the original flavor one. i bought the maggi 2 kg one around 2 years ago now and it is still good and almost empty lol.
From one Aussie girl to another you do your recipe like me except I cut my liver smaller plus I add salt pepper and parsley and mushroom Yep definitely with mash 👍👍 yours looks yummo mate 👍👍
I’m here ‘cause my partner wants to eat this tonight and I can’t stand it and I’ve never have cooked it before ❤️ so thank you for sharing your recipe Gday from The Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺
Yum. My favourite. My mum used to make it for my birthday every year She has moved away so I have been missing out. This looks the same as she makes do will be trying it for sure
Seriously though, best Lamb's Fry EVER. And get this mate I kid you not...I have TWO Aunty Clare's, one from each side of the family and both spelt the same way!
aussie girl can cook Oh thank you! It’s getting crazy down here, hopefully it all calms down asap. Sounds like it will with all the extra restrictions. I’ll definitely be testing out more of your recipes with everyone at home haha! Hope you guys stay safe and thank you for the fab recipes!
@@aussiegirlcancook I am actually eating lambs fry as per your instructions right now as I typing this I am munching away on a hunk of liver. I'm getting into it for nutritional reasons. feeling the power. Big shout to you Aussie girl.
My Granny used to love liver and onions (with bacon obvs) but I've always been a big wuss when it comes to offal so I've never ever tried it, not kidney or anything like that. Getting braver though and wanting to try liver for a while, reckon that might be the receipe to try cos it looks good. Just got over how icky that raw liver looks like it feels lol
I have to say that looked really good, I love liver and onions! You gotta have it with some mashed taters of course and I like lots of pepper too. By far my favorite meal.
How haven't I come across your channel bfor? Absolutely making this for the wkend, love lambs fry, using your recipe, additional bacon sounds great. I've just subbed, thank you, Cheers from NSW ,👍🌺
Update:. Made this on the wknd, exactly the way you made it & first time hubby actually ate it & said 'why haven't you ever made it like this?!' & both grownup boys loved it, neighbours popped over, as there wasn't much left, they were comfortable with leftovers & scooping sauce with bread, unbelievable! 20yrs couldn't get them to eat it & actually lived to see the day when there was none left ! Awesome, thank you. Boys are united that your recipes come first, & the rest from yt I need to ditch ( had some shockers). Off to make bread in my Breville, which I had turfed in the cupboard, paddle kept getting stuck, watched your way, + got some bread improver ( didn't think that mattered), so off to make that. Sorry for long post, so happy they ate lambs fry, first ever, thank you xx🌺🌺🍻
dont be sorry for long post i love the stories and this is an awesome one. so happy your family loved it. you are so welcome V K. thank you for your comment. have a great night mate :)
@@aussiegirlcancook No...! I've dne it before... but I needed a Joggery Memor... or a memory jogger! ... Ah... That's right!! Chopping and slicing, sharpened my knife...
i know it'd be a bit different but how do you think this would turn out if i used chicken livers instead of lamb? i wasnt able to find lamb at the shops unfortunately
well ive never tried chicken livers before but i rekon if liver is liver it would be nice lol please let us know how they taste if you do give it a crack. have a lovely day mate xo 😊💜🍻
