After two years of previews, showcases, and chats, the Hot Wheels RLC Ford Mustang Cobra R has arrived. Is it the best Mustang Hot Wheels has ever done? You be the judge.
Those rear side windows being flush, the Mustang logo on the underside of the hood, all that engine detailing, just… wow. While not my favorite Mustang, definitely the best Mustang casting
I have the fox body from the F & F line and while it's ok, seeing this new casting with the correctly-sized rear wheels is definitely the one I prefer. Hopefully we'll see it with a life beyond RLC. I'll definitely be looking out for it in future just the same. The proportions are just perfect!
That red chrome one is fantastic but the teal one just looks absolutely perfect. The color, wheels, decals, everything is spot on. Can’t wait to see what the next release of this will be.
VIDEO IDEA: do you have a plan for your stunning collection after your demise, like donation to a diecast museum (I can't find a legit one) or someplace local where the cars can be enjoyed and studied in person? I'm 63 and with 3400 1:64's (at least 500 rare, 1:1 customs, or expensive), I'm wondering where they all should go. Relatives cashing in on ebay is not a good option for many reasons. I may sell some to fund my retirement but I'd rather the bulk of the rarities go to a museum quality setting. I'm making lots of videos for documentation but I want a rich, curated setting if possible.
I'm with you lamley. I was really hoping it would have been in this years selections model but maybe there's already another one in the works. Really hope to see a blue spectraflame like that boss you have. Maybe a Christmas version? I'll take them all!
I was never a fan of this version of the Mustang when I lived that era. It was usually the preferred ride of the spoiled DB football jocks in high school. But seeing brought back in 1:64 and in such beautiful detail, I have to say I’ve become a fan. I’m sorry that I missed this pre-sale.
Congrats on that great looking car. Beautiful red. For me the best Mustang would never come out of the 90's. The Mustang Boss is close to my favorite. Not sure which is my fav, but it would surely be an older Muscle car Looking Mustang. maybe the '65 Mustang fastback?
I'm a big fan of a fox. Shame about the left hand front light on the RLC! Apart from that tho, it's absolutely stunning! The blue one is pretty sick in its own right too.
I wish they could bring back opening hoods to the basic line and the mid ones aka 2.00 to 5.00 ones...I'd buy alot more if they had opening hoods like the 60s and 70s hot wheels...that was always the coolest part!
I just wish they had done the color a bit more correct... As you know, the red on the cobra and R was a very bright red, almost orange. I wish it had been that color rather this dark red. That is really my only "complaint" about it, if you can call it that... .lol
Will the cobra go up in value as much as the Boss 302? This is a genuine question as a will be honest and do not have a clue when it comes to value of some of these rare hot wheels. I just had a look on eBay at the 302 boss and they’re about £250-£300 here in the U.K. 🇬🇧
I prefer the older one -- but that's only because I vastly prefer the car it portrays over a 90's era Mustang. The casting looks good though -- I might have to break my "nothing after 1990" rule if I come across one.
My mustang came from Hot Wheels with no tape to close the box. There was no tape ripped off at some point or cut, it was just open. Hot Wheels is getting sloppy with their packaging for shipping lately.
That's not true. He just got a bad version or a bad casting. I have the blue also and the red cover RLC. And it looks better on the tail lights. On my red RLC. I'm not sure why people are hallucinating saying. Oh, it looks better on the blue. He just got a bad deal on his car
My pair of red ones are on the way. Although I’m a big Mustang fan and former owner, this body design isn’t exactly my favorite. However, it’s cool to get something different. It still looks great in red. Teal? It’s pretty ugly, to be honest.
The car looks great , but I'm sorry I'm a little pissed personally the one car I wanted them to do right because every fox they hot wheels made since the old cobra from the 80s has looked abit odd and too big and I cant even get one without paying but loads for a car, I got buddies that have real skylines and 3000 gts and honda civics that basically have a hot wheels of there car and hear I am I own a 72 pinto and 87 fox body but no dice for me I guess , hot wheels can make 30 different skylines and civics bit I cant get 1 good fox body that's obtainable even as a premium , been waiting for damn near 2 years and now I'm screwed.😠😡
Finally got my car. the tampos are very crooked. Much like Lamley's the front headlights are not level and the back tail light sets are misaligned as well. RLC dropped the ball. I bet a lot of people are getting wonky tampos.
That's not true. I own the blue and also the red RLC Cobra R and I have. Haven't had any issues with the tail light being crooked like that He just got bad luck like a few of you guys. I got lucky I would Assume
Listen! You have a voice with hot wheels. Why can’t you buy ten or 30 hot wheels and send in the cards to get a super treasure hunt. They way it is now. There are a lot of disgruntled collectors.
