Aunty I wish you lived next door to me! I’ve been cooking Sri Lankan food every day now as my husband is from there originally and we try to eat these traditional dishes often to remember home.since I’ve found your channel I’ve been more confident in my cooking like I have a friend helping me. Yesterday I made your brinjal moju and it was the best version I’ve ever had. I live in the U.S and finding all these ingredients is difficult but we’ve been trying. I’m a vegetarian and was wondering if you have any veggie curry recipes you can recommend me trying to cook at home? Also if you need any banana leafs next time you make lamprais I will send you some if you would like! Never stop making these videos please

if you live in LK, could you tell me how safe it is to eat n drink outside? I like places that normal people , middle class, working class, eat. most sites recommend drinking only bottled water, yet, others say drinking tap is safe. I loved street foods that I saw on some video. I am planning to go to Kelaniya...so dont know culinary scene there, hope I would find some good restaurants and some good friends.. I surely try Lamprais..;-)
If I am in SL I will definitely invite you. Water is safe. But Best to be on the safe side. Please use bottled water. Street food safe if you order hot food. Galle face is the best place for street food. You will definitely find good people and restaurants. :)
I am considering going to LK for a training program for a year. It is in kelaniya..and I am glad there is a temple there so I can learn something about buddhism. Thanks for good advice. I love street food! and I already read that people are kind and always smiling. some stuff you read makes u really scared...like snakes in north east, leaches! ...things like that...but I will stay in town! Galle face is a name of st ? if you visit SL email me..you guide and I pay! u r very smart chef!!!
Yes Kaleniya is a very famous temple. Buddist believe that Lord Buddha visited that place and its a sacred place. If you are going to stay one year you cant depend on bottled water. Boil the water before consuming. :) Good Luck and hope you will enjoy your stay in SL.
