After surviving the 'death jump' Toms Discovery faces it,s next ordeal, a massive hill climb known as 'SUICIDE HILL' is there anything that can stop this awesome machine? #3 coming soon!
Ok, I want to spell it out for you, we all take risks, from the minute we get out of bed, we calculate probable outcome of that risk on one thing: EXPERIENCE between us we have driven numerous types of off-road vehicle, everything from land rover specials to trials/motorcross, we've taken Land Rovers to places you wouldn't beleive they'ed go, we also know this terrain like the back of our hand. To you no doubt this looks dangerous, but the reality is there's more risk in crossing the road
A great video of a gang of Brits having a laugh, not taking themselves too seriously and not doing anyone else any harm. Clearly Toms' choice to destroy his motor. I did the same to a Range rover Classic 25 years ago and then turned it into a 100 inch hybrid. I really cant understand why people can't accept the enjoyment these lads are having.
In the UK, those old Discoveries can be picked up for very very little. They're pretty common, hardly 'Specialty' as you describe. This series of 'destruction' video shows you just how much the Landy can put up with! Anyway, I can guarantee you that this Landy didn't go to waste, even after they killed it - the engine (200 tdi by the sound of it?) is probably now in a Defender for example.
That looks awesome Frank, top job with the video. Im still waiting for the one where I recovered that black 90 from the pit of doom! Haha the suspence is killing me.
It's a shame to see people who just break them for parts becuse it's worth more in parts like just re sell the body once you've parted it out unless it's rotten anyway I have a d1 3 door 300 tdi offroader but I wholdent ever beat the poor thing to death I will always keep her tiptop condition always clean always lookin good landrover discovery 1 gang whoo
I thought this was brilliant! Halfway through I was willing him to make it up the hill! So close... That lad has balls, and hopefully another method of transport! Bring on #3! :)
That is honestly the funniest thing ive ever read on youtube. Nah, I just bought it because it was cheap really, the engine probably will end up in a defender though.
I dont really understand why is it fun to destroy this nice car?I drove the same car for over 10years and I fell sorry very much because I selled it.The engine names 300i are the best one!You could keep this car for ever! If we destroy everything because its old... For example I have an Unimog 421. It is made 1967.After 10 years it increased its worth about 3 times!!Or more! /I dont do the same mistake again.../If you dont liked it,why dont you just sell you rover???And have some fun with the money?I think one day /if you are growed up/ you gonna be sorry what you did...
whats up with all the negative stuff?.... for god sake, its just a bunch of people having fun, who cares about the jeep, or the bloke talking, there the ones thats having the fun doing the stuff there doing..
Don't want to be annoying but they are having a good time they know how to have a good time there's nothing wrong with frank speaking that's what land rovers are for discovery n defenders are the best by far! I've been brought up with them since I was about 2!
That disco is rotten, but only the body. The chassis is relatively sound. Its worth adding that we are experienced off roaders, and we all know the risks involved.
I wouldn't say 'plain stupidity' exactly. It was no longer safe for the road, so before I scrapped it I just had a bit of fun with it that's all. 'Suicide Hill' wasn't the greatest of ideas looking back, but luckily it went well.
I reckon the old Disco gets the last laugh on these guys? They hammer it, abuse it, thrash it and she still goes. Not too badly either with its crap tyres the only thing holding it back. The guy's a better driver then he's letting on too....
Do you know what the real sad thing is? statistically we were more likely to be killed or seriously injured driving on the PUBLIC HIGHWAY to this off road site
Well Tom I'm glad you had a good time I would probably do the same but with one difference, I would put a safety helmet on, you were so close to rolling it if you had you would have cracked your skull on the way down and it would be a different story that some one else was telling. play hard, play safe and keep the posts coming
No worries Tom. You need a cape and some police sunglasses and the look will be complete. My dads just took on a 110 double cab td5 looks the dogs whatsits. Youre caged 90 looks the bizz
@utubesuks12345 Where do you think Toyota got the name 'Land Cruiser' from in the first place? The Land Cruiser may be famous, but the Land Rover is LEGENDARY!
why do you people with the negative comments realize that this car is scrap and not economical to repair to pass a MOT. So before it gets crushed they are having some fun with it. The waste would be for it to go to the scrap yard not having given one last bit of pleasure. What is wrong with that??
Lovely old lady. She deserved better than that. Yes they are cheap ATM but not for long. This is a small part of English heritage before the Germans took it over and ruined it. We should be preserving 200\300 TDI and trashing Td5's
@kintarben There were other vids that showed the extent of the rust...it was just the body that was scrapped anyway...the power train and drive train live on in other Rovers.
