In this video I pull apart the Tesla model 3 Penthouse which contains most of the high voltage components. I need to pull this down before I can get into the high voltage battery modules to work out how to repackage them into a size that will fit into the Land Rover.
Land Rover 'FTI' (Full Tesla Integration)
Update:
Since doing this I realised that a better way to remove the penthouse surround (rather than grinding) is to remove it together with the top of the main battery module caseing top.
So the easy way to remove the penthouse from the battery:
- Remove Pyro
- Remove battery terminal nuts (x4)
- Disconnect BMS Daisy chain (x4 points)
- CAREFULLY disconnect the motor/hvac output plugs (this is the hardest bit)
- remove coolant connection screws
- Break the urethane seal between the top and bottom of the battery case and lift off together with the penthouse. Then you can break the urethane seal between the battery top and the penthouse case to end up with the penthouse on its own.
