In most LRs you can use the Cruise Control buttons to adjust the speed of Hill Descent when it is active. Pressing "CC - button" will reduce speed by 0.5km/h and the "CC + button" will speed up by 0.5km/h. Using this method you can really fine-tune the speed to suit the hill or terrain. I have confirmed this in a Disco 3 (Manual + auto) and Disco 4.

I had a chance to test changing the speed of Hill Decent, as others noted I was able to adjust via cruise control up/down. I found however that by default it was set at the slowest speed, so initially you can only speed it up.

You can use the cruise control +- to control the hdc speed

Yes, that is on our plans, as soon as we can get out again after Covid restrictions. Tried it out the other week but didn't have the camera setup, I found my car was defaulted to the slowest speed, initially pressing down didn't do anything and it was only after speeding up then slowing it down on the cruise buttons I could see how it worked.

Thanks for the video. I heard a chime and a light came on on the dashboard when you got over that rock at the end, curious what was that? Question too, can I retrofit the rear locker? I do not have it. Thanks again

I think the D3 went into Super Extended suspension mode, as I went over the rock. It is possible to retrofit a rear locker, as I have heard of a couple people doing it, but I remember them saying it was a pretty expensive at something like £2k.

Off course you can but is expensive. Try some Air lockers from ARB a lot more easy to put them :)

Never knew hill descent turn brake lights on. Only used it twice or thrice and going down the hill was so smooth with just a little bit of irritating noise

I thought they were not... but at least on my D3 I can definitely confirm now that they do come on without me touching the brakes.
