Thanks, the 17 inch rims came on the entry level diesel UK models, they don't fit on Petrol/Gas models because they have larger brake discs.

Sorry to hear your loss. The Land Rover Discovery is a very different animal to the Porsche. In the UK parts for the LR are cheap and lots available, although I expect less reliable than the Porsche. If you are considering heavy off road, then I think the LR would be a better option.

I found getting a radio mic made a huge difference to the audio quality.

Terrafirma A12000, added a tie wrap to end of arm to aid grabbing through bumper opening, but most of the time I just powered the line out, as it is easier.

It's a Land Rover Discovery 3 though.

@@emtactics8074 Yes, I do. Immediately the video starts, you can see that it's a Land Rover Discovery. The shape makes it a Discovery and the grill makes it a 3. I have Discovery 4 so, I should be able to tell the difference. Why do you think it's a Range Rover?

They are 17" Land Rover D3 original (only supplied on the older diesel models)

I have 275/65/18 Cooper STT Pro on my LR3. Rubs barely on tight turn out of my driveway. I also have the AB coils with 2” lift.

These are 17 inch, they wouldn't fit on your D4

On the diesel D3 they have smaller brakes and some came with 17 inch original wheels (same as I have fitted). Petrol/Gas cars have larger brakes and 18 is the smallest possible.

I haven't upgraded the infotainment, just stuck on a bracket for CB handset

Mainly that everything works, including hand brake, and no faults displayed on screen. You should also check it has had the oil pump replaced and belts.

@@JayTeeCars thanks! Apparently this one has had a replacement LR engine (90k kms done) new exhaust, wheel bearings and brakes just done and after market underbody protection. I should look up how to check the display for notifications/errors etc.

Winch has arrived less than 24hrs brilliant and it looks pretty well made. Where abouts did you end up locating your solenoid and did you have to relocate anything?

great! I have the solenoid fitted in the plastic box next to the brake distribution, with the electrical shutoff poking outside towards center of engine.

My understanding is it is very difficult, as you are limited by the chassis. You can permanently raise the suspension, but then still have restricted turning circle.

I can tell you fairly safely due to my own research on the Disco 4 that no you can't. 32" is the absolute end of it and even then you will get rubbing and should fit lock stops to prevent you going to full lock. To fit 35's... that's going to take a lot more effort and modification to happen.

If you get a set of Johnson rods they sell a set that allows you to put 35s fine with no rubbing.

yes, 18 is the smallest that fit over the brakes.

as long as you don't go larger than 265/65R18 you shouldn't have any problems.

I have it tucked between the driver seat and the console (stays there just under pressure from seat), power lead plugging in to rear 12v socket.

It’s a genuine Land Rover rack, but with the top section removed to make it slimline.

I bought the rack second hand and it only came with the bottom half, so sorry I can't give any guidance on the modification.

Nope, it is happy to run immersed.

It's air intake is up in the left rear quarters/ wing. If the water is that deep your compressor is the least of your problems

Yes, it reads 6 or 7% low, so never go past a speed camera at the indicated limit.

I have done a bit of prevention on the chassis, the body on the D3's are pretty good compared to D1 or D2.

No, on average now after remap and with muds and roof rack I am getting 24mpg average. before remap it was about 20mpg.

MTR and changing from 19 to 17 inch creates a lot of drag (more than switching to a set of ATR on the same sized wheel)

Hi Johnny, mine has the bottom plastic cover removed (it was actually ripped off when plugging through some very deep mud). I have a very short video I will post up showing fitting of the metal compressor guard.
