This is, without a doubt, the best review you have ever uploaded. Fantastic work, I can tell this took a long time to edit. Btw I love the tightrope feel of my drop through, it makes initiating speed checks very easy and carving super lively.

Downhill254 - Kenyan Longboarding I recently purchased a used Pantheon Trip, I have it on 150mm Paris with venom 81/85 symmetric. Super lively and drifty on orange Kegels, but I’m eyeing up the LDP Alphas so I can get back to DH on the Kegels. The price is offputting though
@downhill254skate
@downhill254skate 3 года назад
@@owencampbell777 Get them. Alphas are very good wheels. They're gonna be faster than the Kegels, accelerate much better, and won't feel as sluggish. If you want to roll for longer/faster, def worth the investment.

Downhill254 - Kenyan Longboarding perhaps I should invest in Alphas for DH then and leave the Kegs where they are.

@@owencampbell777 Naah, do the opposite. Kegels are more fun for DH. Alphas feel like you have to be focused to skate em well. Kinda scary tbh. Kegels are very forgiving and easy to skate. Worth switching around tho and finding out for yourself

Great review, thanks. I got the 38 version with 50’ trucks and flipped the hangers to get rid of the twitchiness. I also swapped the stock 90a cones for softer venoms (87 back, 85 front) and kept the barrels. It became much more easier to control on higher speeds with enough maneuverability for cruising.

Don't know why you have this less amount of subscribers but no doubt keep pushing out these popular boards reviews and you'll be big soon. Fire video man. I'm a beginner and have a 38 drop cat, and thinking of switching to 33. Just for the compact size and that I can take it to more places easily, attached to my backpack. My issue is that I still want to be able to go fast and bomb some medium - deep hills. I can go pretty well on the 38, but I hope that won't be sacrificed on the 33. If anyone could help out it'd me great.
@downhill254skate
@downhill254skate 3 года назад
Thanks for the kind words man, gonna work towards putting out more videos for sure. . I'd say the 33 can handle hills a bit but won't be as stable as the 38. If you want to get as much stability out of it you'll have to make some mods. Buy a 40* Bear baseplate for the back truck and get some aftermarket bushings. It will help make it more stable whilst still being as turny. You're gonna hacve to play around with some bushings to get it to feel perfect.

great review. on the ease of pushing and breaking on drop thru/ drop decks, i think its due to the fact you have to bend your standing leg less to reach the ground. balancing on a single bent leg takes a bunch of energy in your core, too.

Hello, and congratulations for your good review. I wonder if this drop cat is good for me. I'm a beginner (finally I know how to roll, move forward with carving and I have quite a good sense of balance), I recently bought a dinghy blunt. My goal was to ride with something fun around town, cruiser chill, with something maneuverable. (I am 1m80 tall, weigh 77kg, and wear a size 45) Only the small 60mm wheels bother me, I have to be very attentive to the slightest pebble or small hole in the road. I rode stationary on drop cats in the store, and I really liked the rocker (but I didn't ride it). Someone sells used (and is put to exchange) his drop cat 33 against my dinghy. But I have questions. -Will the platform be too small? (I saw that the drop cat 38 had about the same surface area as the dinghy for the feet, so the 33 would be smaller!) I figured that the 38 would be better but on the other hand I think that the 33 can be very nice and better for cruising around town, I don't know. -If I only have drop 33, will it bother me because it won't be possible to climb sidewalks without a quicktail? Shouldn't I rather wait to find a cheap used drop cat 38 and keep my dinghy, and put bigger wheels (65 or 69mm for example)? Either I exchange my dinghy against the drop cat 33, or I keep it and I put bigger wheels while waiting to buy a drop cat 38 in addition? (Oh, and I don't know if you can answer that sincerely since you're sponsored by landyachtz, but I can also have a tan tien not too expensive, I can also keep the dinghy, put big wheels, and maybe get a tan tien, but I don't know if it's as pleasant as the drop cat since it has no rocker, on the other hand it has a kicktail which can allow you to climb the sidewalks?)

Great review bro. I picked up the 33. Quick question, I removed the bottom cupping from the board and I feel like its smoother. In the video you have the bigger bushing adjusted to the bottom with no cupping and the smaller one on top. Stock came with the bigger bushing on the boardside and smaller on the bottom. I maybe wrong, can you confirm how its suppose to be when removing the cupping? Also, what setup are you riding on now? Thanks!
@downhill254skate

Yeah that works too! If you remove the cupped washer boardside, it runs ok. But runs best with a washer boardside. Im primarily riding the drop hammer now. My Drop cat 33 broke (liong story). It's very comfortable. I have the stock trucks on it with stock bushings.

@downhill254skate 3 года назад
Hey, thanks for watching. I used soft double barrel bushings. With a softer barrel in the front truck. I use 85a hardcore barrels in front and 90a hardcore barrels in the back. Using soft barrels gives a smoother, controlled lean. Using a hard barrel in the back truck stiffens it up a little giving you more forward biased turning and stablity

I just went barrel/barrel. I think the right rope feel was because of the barrel/cone and cupped washer combo. Quick to turn, but quick to stop turning. Soft barrels (with cupped washer roadside) allowed for a lot more articulation of the trucks. Turning was more gradual and the end of turn wasn't as sudden. . Also, plug barrels are so good man.
