The Beretta PX4 Storm is a weird yet excellent gun, however Langdon Tactical takes it to the next level.

Could not agree more. These guns just run. For concealed carry purposes this is the best DA/SA option available for a compact gun. I’m not talking about war zone capable. I’m talking everyday, back and forth to work or whatever, low recoil, fast shooting reliability, this is it.

I've owned and carried a px4 full size with green polymer frame for over eight years now. I couldn't say how many rounds are thru it but it's a crazy amount. I couldn't ask for a gun I trust more in over 45 years of carrying a weapon. It eats any 9mm ammo I put thru it with above average accuracy.

The biggest improvement to the trigger comes from the LTT Optimized Performance trigger bar. The part itself is about pretty affordable and makes a dramatic difference in the reset and over travel . That along with a lighter hammer spring takes this from an okay trigger to a phenomenal trigger.

They’re enthusiasts and are very knowledgeable of their craft. If you’ve got the wallet, do yourself the favor and get something that Langdon and his crew builds. Its custom trigger & reset, sights, NP3 coated mags, trigger system and barrel are just an amazing piece of art. They build to suit. I added the laser etching on the slide, 92 de-cocker and NP3. It all adds up but if you’re gonna buy a Ferrari, get one that is badass! They build other manufactures also and this will not be my last LTT.

I have owned, shot and have been loving my PX4 Compact Carry, fully accessorized with LTT components, since March 2017. 11,400 live rounds and countless dry fires later and still 100% reliable and dependable. I have the LTT RDS solution, Talon Pros, a Holosun 507C mounted and carried in a Black Rhino Concealment AIWB ACS holster. It has a sweet six and change double action, and a three and change single action that is crisp with a positive short reset. The recoil effects are real from the rotating barrel design and it is significantly softer shooting than any of my other 9mm pistols in this size. From drill to drill, my personal best record is with this pistol. Once you add everything I've invested, yeah it is a little pricey, for me it has been well worth every penny.

So side note for people about PX4 the compacts and full size use different mags, but the mags will all work in the compact. but the 17rd mags leave a gap. they make extensions for 17 to 20rd. so put one on your 15 and you got a flush extended mag. so my compact carrys 18+1 . I own 3 storms, sub compact in 40 that I just bought and have yet to shoot, a full sized 40 that is my home defense pistol and the compact in 9mm that, despite owning a WC EDC9 among many others is my preferred carry. I LOVE LOVE them. The rotating barrel has a real and very noticeable impact on the shooting experience, it is easy to take down and clean and as accurate as my Atlas, NHC, and Phoenix Trinitys. It is such an overlooked gun that I like so many others am shocked that more people haven’t discovered it. The LTT work is wonderful. The double action is smooth with no grit and the single action is outrageous. It will eat any ammunition, which I can honestly say is not the case with all my guns. You’ll never regret picking up a PX4 Storm Compact. Oh, and lastly, the Compact non-LTT, was still designed by Earnest Langdon and has an upgraded grip and trigger, just not the full LTT work so you dont need to the full monte to really enjoy it. Mine isn’t a full LTT and it is spectacular.

Just to be clear: I actually WANT the trigger just the way it is. I don't find that the stock DA/SA trigger hinders my ability to use the pistol and I appreciate the added safety of a long/heavy first trigger pull. Saving $$ is just icing on the cake.
@5metoo
@5metoo 2 года назад
@@-RM- I hear you. Safety is my top concern too, and why I'm not that interested in the competition trigger. The stock trigger is quite respectable IMO. However, I consider the long a bit more important in the long/heavy ratio, and the 'D' spring is a stock spring, albeit in the PX4 DAO. So on that reasoning, I find the shootability slightly increased by the 1st pull being just a bit lighter without decreasing safety. But to each his own.

I bought a Langdon edition and it kept jamming (not the Fiocchi ammo). I took it home, broke it down and felt around the feed ramp. It was rough and edges were not smooth. I polished the feedramp and edges with my dremel and soft tip accessories with a polishing crème (Flints or Mothers). Took it back to the range…no more jamming issues. It ran smoothly, ammo feed without any type of jams and Fiocchi went bang every time. I had serious doubts of the reliability during my first range session (and yes, I cleaned the firearm after I unboxed it). But the polishing of the feed ramp and edges resolved the issue. I’ll need to shoot it more before I give it a final reliability and trustworthy opinion (never had that issue with my Glocks, CZ’S, S&W or Springfield Armory firearms). I must add that I really like my Beretta 92fs…never had a jamming issue.

The single action trigger is great, and the reset is spectacularly good. I would like the double action to be a bit lighter but it's ok. Only thing trigger wise I don't like is that it feels like a plastic trigger. You can feel the give in it when shooting it double action. So far it isn't the most accurate gun. The groups I get are not all that spectacular. May just need to try some other ammo. I won't fault the gun, but it wouldn't feed some Red Army ammo I have that is out of spec. It's about .002" to large at the case mouth. The gun won't go into battery with it most of the time. My CZs don't care and have no problems with it. But again, the ammo is out of spec so I can't really fault the Beretta. All in all, it is an excellent gun but so far not my very favorite. Maybe with more time it will grow more on me.

I have the Px4 full size with LTT (trigger job in a bag, ) 12# Silicone hammer spring, stealth de-cock only, extended mag release, extended slide stop. Amazing trigger. I have hundreds and hundreds of rounds thru her. 100% reliable. Not 1 stoppage and I shoot almost exclusively handloads. It eats everything from light frangible target loads to +P. Saved a pile of money installing the parts myself. Bought mine 3 or 4 years ago new $385.00 so I only have about $650 in it with all the upgrades.

I really wish Beretta would do a “A1” version of the Px4 Storm, like they did with the APX. New texture, optic cut, maybe slim down the frame… there’s room for improvement, but Beretta seems to be comfortable with letting this model ride as designed.

The px4 is my spirit animal. Carry a shield plus currently which is beautiful, but I’m a lefty and the complete ambidextrous double action of the px4 is everything I dream

I had the Beretta 45 cougar model with that rotating barrel I really liked it. It's one of several great guns I wish I hadn't sold. I would like to get the px storm 45, but buying guns isn't something I can afford anymore. But with your big hands, you aught to buy yourself a Beretta cougar. It had a pretty large grip. Thanks for another great video. The only way I get to see really great guns shot so well. 😎👍

As an owner of a stock Full Size Px4, I love the hell out of it. After shooting the M9 and most recently the M18, comparatively, I like the Px4 the most of the three. I got mine with the .40 S&W mags and barrel, but it's the easiest thing in the world to convert down to 9mm and up to .45 ACP. I carried it as a duty pistol as a security guard in Seattle. Only compmaints I have are that the mag release is a bit small and the stock recoil spring has a polymer core. Beretta does sell a metal core version, and for a similar price, you can get multi spring recoil systems. The cool thing with the Compact and the Full Size is that you can use the barrels and mags from the Full Size with the frame and slide of the Compact. Unfortunately, the Sub Compact can't use any of the components from the larger models, as it is actually a tilt-barrel pistol. All three come as 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. I wish I could carry it for my current job, but since we work with the military at our installation, I've since switched to the M18. Also a good pistol, as stated before, I prefer the Px4.

The PX4 compact is an amazing handgun. Low felt recoil, fantastic accuracy, metal magazines, easy to work on and change parts. The only downside in my book is a little more difficulty finding holsters but they are out there.

PX4 Storm is my edc. So much for the investment. If you go straight to Langdon, it might take a while, but it will shoot groups with the best and you can still carry this open sight. Browning would be envious of the design.

Mrs O shot this gun amazingly well. It didn't recoil bear as much as other guns have when she shot them. I really think she would like this gun a bunch because of the low recoil.

Now that I have other 9mm carry guns, my PX4 full sized will be going to Langdon shortly for the works. Been planning on that for over a year and the time is soon! Thanks for reinforcing that decision! It is still one of the best feeling pistols I've shot.

I’ve shot the PX4 Storm again this year (last time was around my mid 20s and 34 y/o now). All I can say is that I should’ve held it better back then. Now I’m VERY ACCURATE with this. Only thing I still don’t like about this is the long DA trigger pull and the wide grip, taking me extra time to fix my grip (at least my hands are big to the point it really isn’t difficult to grasp). I love the look of this and this is why I chose to rent it in my mid 20s.

As someone in CA with limited choice, I'd love to know the verdict: Px4 storm vs CZ P-01, and also LTT Px4 Storm vs Cajunized CZ. Also looking at Sig 2022, but not sure if that even places in the same league as the other two.

I have tried all the new micro 9. And still carry my 10yr old px4 subcompact. It's a little different than the px4 compact with no rotating barrel but is smaller. Never had a problem with it, always reliable, and 13 Rd mag. I do wish beretta would update it with slimmer slide, grips. But it is still one the best carry guns especially if are a new shooter and don't want shoot you junk off with the da/sa hammer.

You should try the Grand Power X - calibur. Its a competition out of the box ready polymer with steel rail insert, rotating barrel system. As far as fit and finish goes for the price range it should be a very good candidate for your review. Keep up the good work

Honestly all you need is a base PX4 Storm and then add a $80 Langdon NP3 Trigger Bar and $10 Spring to get you 80% of the way there. Did that to my PX4 Storm and now have an incredible trigger feel with the same reset as shown in the video.

i have three of those! without the red dot. The PX4 Compact has a dual stage recoil spring. The 9mm barrel has a 40 Cal of and a 9mm bore. The slide is a little heavier too. that’s why it doesn’t recoil. The stock PX4 Compact Carry, specked by Ernest Langdon, is stock from Beretta for about $850. But…, the guns are best bought from LTT, Ernest is the magic man when it comes to trigger work!

Love the PX4 storm. I actually even like the subcompact one [non rotating barrel that one has] but the compact is my by far favorite. One of the great benefits of that particular model is it has a left handed slide lock, which while not necessary can often be hard to find for a left handed shooter [walther ppq/pdp and a few others have it but I love my hammer fire][actually not left handed, but have right hand injury so I shoot left handed]. Oddly the full and subcompact size does not have that feature [nor does the Langdon compact carry version unfortunately ;(] I have often considered buying some of their parts to upgrade my regular compact to their version, at least mostly, and maybe that way it would let me keep the extra slide lock maybe? But not sure I can I would have to look into it.

The trigger. I have an NP3’d Elite. I thought the trigger was the best I’ve ever felt……until I received the full size PX4 with NP3. It’s better than the 92 in my opinion. When I picked up the PX4 at the FFL I took it out of the box and was feeling the trigger and I told the guy behind the counter “hey dude, you got to try this trigger”. Another guy comes out of the office and says “we did, holy shit that’s nice.”
