The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life. curiosity: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means (ragazzo) boy.

And she's a technical genius so she can make her voice do whatever she needs it to. This song is in Italian but she sings in many languages. She was born in Belgium and spent a lot of her life in Canada and France. She is amazing so whatever you choose to react to will be wonderful.

She sings in twelve different languages. She has two native languages: french from her father and italian from her sicilian mother, english her granpa was an american from Detroit. And spanish and I don't know how she learned it. She sings in 8 other languages.

Dude, dude, dude, Lara's singing & speaking in Italian not spanish! She is half Sicilian on her Mother's side. Also, you're missing out on the emotional connection to the song, by not paying attention to the lyric's. You can read lyrics & hear the singer @ the same time, can't you? Plus you're doing a dis-service to the artist/writer. Lyrics are so so important, the artist has something to say otherwise why bother with lyric's at all? Do you listen to a capella musicians.
