Nice hunt Darcy ! Dogs food of finds ! I’ve dug a few of those! Copper oh ya ! Cool looking ring ! The old axe / hammer head tool piece is interesting! Have a great week! MC&TT 👍🐆🐆
Thanks!👍😊 Nice to hear you’re getting a few of the old CDN coins down there. Lots of potential there and the park offers up a huge variety of stuff from 1700’s up to modern drops but the older stuff is getting a lot tougher to score. Take care and happy hunting!
Good stuff Darcy, I only wish I had time to go out and swing the coil, You popped out some nice coinage buddy thank you for sharing, have a great weekend 👍
Thanks Jim! 👍😊 Hopefully you get some break in the action to get out a bit more. Not been doing as much swinging either but doing much more bottle digging lately with the bottle obsessed Kep jr. At least it’s a great workout and getting me into better shape. Take care and ATB!
Thanks J!👍😊 Same here for the last week but has finally warmed up again. Actually been doing more bottle digging than swinging lately. Take care and happy hunting!
Thanks Joel!👍😊 Wasn’t sure at first on that axe until the plastic in the handle hole then it made sense as some sort of felling wedge hatchet being right where a tree had been likely taken down in the ‘98 ice storm. Always a possibility with French activity in the area going back to the 1600’s. ATB and happy hunting!
Great assortment and age of finds Darcy. The ring is a fantastic find too. I thought the ring might have been Rhodium. Always love finding the large cents too. I've never tried hunting at night, perhaps that's a better time living in the city. LOL ! I actually hunted part of the back yard at the John A. MacDonald house in Kingston three years ago. Found some great coins, tokens and pocket knife. I tried detecting at Fort Henry but it's tricky to do. I'm thinking of trying a few spots along the shoreline next time. Take care and best regards Darcy !
Thanks Al!👍😊 Tricky spots indeed, moreso Sir John A I would think than the other. I read that the property behind it but maybe on a part of it was a City sanctioned dumping ground in the late 1800’s/early 1900’s. ATB and happy hunting!
Thanks! 👍😊 A little less crusty would be nice but ya take what ya get. Bit busier part of the park where the picnic tables are so pretty decent spot for clad and jewelry. ATB and happy hunting!
