Thanks! Great video! Love the work you do! Amazing... 15k gph via skimmers is un-believable!!!! Perfect amount for that depth and surface area!!!! Most installers would say oh 10k is enough but it's really really not

Amazing pond transformation! Thanks for sharing this awesome video. I will be digging my pond in the Spring. This video confirms the plans I have for my pond (except mine will be 1/4th the size). I was inspired by the rock retaining walls inside the pond backfilled with smaller stones.

Hey Lee, thanks for commenting! I love building this way. The cleaning of these type of ponds does not have to be done very often. When they do it is only a big job, because it is a big pond, otherwise they stay pretty clean!

Hi Debra! I agree, when designing a pond one of my goals is to have the pond, or any water feature, look like it occurred naturally. Sometimes achieving that is a challenge.

This was awesome! I have a small red eared slider turtle, and in a year or two, when it gets too large to keep indoors without needing a 100 some odd gallon tank. I plan on making my own pond for it (though nothing nearly as large as the one in the video, I don't even think my yard has the amount of square footage as that pond.)

what was the liner and its thickness used in this construction? Was there underlayment? Is there a particular type of liner you suggest for 100sqft type or bigger
@thePondHunter
@thePondHunter 7 лет назад
Hello Rylee. On this project we used a 45mil EPDM pond liner, it is the industry standard and has a 40 year life expectancy. We used a geotextile underlayment material before liner was installed. For your 100sqft pond I'd still use the 45mil EPDM as liner.

That is a fantastic job! Can this pond also be swam in without hurting the liner? How long will this pond typically last before everything has to be pulled back out and the liner replaced? Thanks.
@thePondHunter
@thePondHunter 7 лет назад
Hi Jason. The pond was not really designed for humans to swim in it, but it is big enough and 3' deep in most of it, so if someone chose to go into it and splash around they certainly could; and its nice filtered water. The liner has a manufacture rated 40 year life expectancy, but they can last longer when covered over and protected with rock and gravel.

@thePondHunter
@thePondHunter 5 лет назад
Hi Jamie, thanks for reaching out. There is no real standard for pricing on projects like these. If it were truly this type and size of pond you may be looking anywhere from $60K - $100K or more depending on how you approach the project. If you'd like more specific information please feel free to contact me directly and we can get more detailed info. Thanks
