Imagine if you changed them all the way you should have done a long time ago. That truck would really run good and probably get a couple more miles per gallon. Plus you see how bad the condition was on the coil pack and plug. I would get those others out before you cant get them out and end up in deep poopy. Chrome doesnt get you home. LOL Thanks for the video man.
Need to change the other 7 spark plugs. Also, waiting until the spark plugs start causing misfires is a good way to kill ignition coils due to the gaps being out of spec causing excessive load on the ignition coils. As for the spark plugs themselves, the 5.4 2v's (the engine in Larry) don't typically break them on removal. The 3v's are notorious for that. When you first pulled the ignition coil, my first thought was that Larry spit out the spark plug as the 2v's are known for doing if the plugs aren't properly torqued.
L…A…R…R…Y…!!!Absolutely need to change the other 7 plugs now… so glad and happy that it wasn’t anything serious!! LARRY deserves a nice fresh set of plugs and those wheels and tires look absolutely fantastic, not to mention the lift… you are absolutely killing it with ol Lar bear 🐻 Keep up the incredible work!! 👍
Need more larry videos, you did say you would post more of it. Anyways would love to see a day of driving around in larry like you did 8 or so months ago
Damnnn. I thought my sparkplugs were bad on my 2012 ram after 30,000 miles. But after seeing yours man it looks like it sat outside in rain.😮 I agree with everyone else should just go ahead and change all of them. The rest have to be in the same shape.✅
You’ve got the 5.4 motors mixed up. The 2 valves in the 10th gens don’t break off, they shoot out the block. You can change them like normal, the 3v 5.4 are the 3 piece design that breaks
Sometimes it’s actually only the contact spring from coil to plug. But coils do go bad 🤘 3v has the breakable plugs but 2v has a blowing plug issue. my truck did better with 37’s than with 35’s 🤘 and not too bad with 40’s Truck looks and sounds great 🤘🤩🤘 I’m sure you get crap about a lifted 2wd but I only need 4wd when I do dumb stuff and maybe at intersections on a occasion in the winter ❄️ I need to rewatch and catch up on some of your other Larry videos to see what all’s been done ✅ was curious about your rear gear (axle code) I’m guessing you have a H9 3:55 LS ? So you’d want the B6 3:73 LS🤘 The following lists the gear ratios on axles. • 18 - 3.08, non-limited slip, F-150 • 19 - 3.55, non-limited slip, F-150, F-250 • 26 - 3.73, non-limited slip, F-150, F-250 • 27 - 3.31, non-limited slip, F-150, F-250 • 28 - 3.73, non-limited slip, F-150, F-250 • H9 - 3.55, limited slip, F-150, F-250 • B6 - 3.73, limited slip, F-150, F-250
$65 to dismount and remount and balance a wheel and tire is crazy, i paid $100 for dismount 4 33x12.50r22s on 22x12s and have a set of 35x12.50r22s installed and balanced
Makes me want my f150 that was 5.4 4x4 I miss it sooo much I only don’t miss how much it cost to fill the tank but boy I miss that power it had it would go to 100 quick for full size truck
I got one stuck in my shop and all 8 of the top plugs broke Off and were having one hell of a time working or getting the rest of them plugs out and went thru two tool that is used for them broken plug when it happens😂🙃
With thoes 5.4/4.6L the 16mm 2 piece spark plugs like to blow them selfs out. The anode tip likes to melt. (Dose not go into the oil dose not mess the head up) it melts it to dust and that causes a misfire. (Thats ONLY with the 2 piece 16mm spark plugs)
You sound like an old friend of mine who would tell me from time to time that he would get hiself a new set of spark plug..Would you replace one tire at a time? One wheel? Let's see..What's more important to insure you make it from point "A" to point "B" without breaking down?
And to all the people saying that he needs to change all the other spark plugs if you're chasing a problem you change one thing at a time and see if that works
Clifford has to have a body lift, I just did coils and plugs on my 02, it’s just as much as a pain as the 5.4 lol Edit, I highly suggest doing plugs and coils on Larry, it made the world of difference on my crown Vic and my f150. Those plugs looked pretty rough so it’s definitely due for it lol
Ahhh, exact reason I got rid of my 10th gen 5.4, had to replace coils and sparks every couple months. Would blow them straight out the heads… got my 06 Silverado crew cab and haven’t looked back since then lol. But these fords are still some of my favorite trucks. Just gotta get lucky and find one that don’t have these wack problems. My buddy has one with 370k and never blown anything.
Gotta admit sounds like cheap parts. Also my tenth gen was a better truck then my 06 honestly. The 5.3 is better than the 5.4 dont get me wrong but the 4lslippye shitty rear end and albeit a nicer interior but nonetheless interior that likes to fall apart unlike a tenth gen.
@@MysteriousSystemsyou must do some stupid stuff to blow the rear end haha. Eaton Tru trac and you're set. 4l60s are hit and miss. I had no issues with mine. Neighbor has 2 with over 230,000 miles still going. Gotta keep the fluid and filter changed. Which nobody does for reason.
