+GRiMM K.SiN, completely agreed, LOL! It was also hilarious watching many of those jokes go over their heads, or fall flat in their laps with them staring, trying to figure them out... :-D
+OnePunch-Man well, it wasn't Colbert, but it was mostly up to Larry's standard of "keeping it 100", and a lot of the jokes were great. I enjoyed the heck out of it.
I laughed so hard at the Harriet Tubman thing. Idek why. I think it's if I think the previous joke was funny....then i laugh even more on the current joke? btw i really think they should boot Jackson off the 20 and leave it for Harriet Tubman. What do you (not Trump supporters) think?
This whole thing is a joke, this Democratic Party Obama LIE fEST Who was put together by these frauds. These fakes these pedofiles of the Satanic nature they’re all involved with is the show let’s get to the ultra fags the NWO FAGS THE PUSSY BOYS LIKE OBAMA THAT LOVE MEN- Obama is a taker, not a giver. He’s the woman, the sissy just like the leader he’s been a little fucking girl.
People say Wilmore bombed it. Really? Because he didn't elicit enough laughs from the rich and powerful attendees? When the rich and powerful don't laugh at your jokes, it's most likely not because your jokes aren't funny, but rather, because they're too true for comfort.
+Yolo Swaggins I like Larry, and he has some serious balls to make those jokes at the correspondents dinner, but... If you're going to make those kinds of jokes to a hostile audience you have to be more sure of yourself and not keep justifying yourself and stumbling. It wasn't just hard to watch because of the hostile audience, he also did a terrible job at presenting his jokes (most of which were pretty good).
Lol, the silence in that room, not because he wasn't funny. But because he was spitting some cold hard truth about the people in that room. Great job Larry!!
+Anand Goyal I am going to be serious. Larry Wilmore had a 8/10 performance. A lot of the criticisms were spot on but he has some misses too. But that audience, was legit 1/10. He was criticizing all of them, so everyone at home was laughing but none of them were, and honestly MOST of them deserved every single thing he said. And I gotta say, N-word joke at the end, not sure about it but, he definitely went for it so he has the balls. Very enjoyable for the most part!
+Locustmaster15 totally... Omg I watched the BLITZER part like 7 times... So cathartic. You can feel the depression in the room. They no the jig is up (so to speak) lol
@@billthecat3688 both of you like raining down bombs on people from long distances. Not closing Guantanamo jokes. Both critical of Obama, watch the jokes before commenting on it.
+Jose S A group of almost all-White, plastic-enhanced, self-aggrandizing, holier-than-thou bubble residents, not amused at some black-looking guy making fun of them to their faces... not amused? I'm shocked!
+Megan Faye I thought Colbert's ripping performance when Bush was president was painful, but this one....maybe a bit more because he is skewering everyone. Extremely painful to watch but delicious! Crazy! Hard to describe!
I'm laying here cracking up, meanwhile these corrupt bastards are wiping the sweat from their foreheads and looking around nervously like Wilmore was telling jokes at a funeral
+MixmanD28 print media's funeral ha ha. I love that every year they joke about it and they get that uncomfortable laugh. the comedians are always keeping it a little too real for these people.
wow this shit was so Savage. he went so fucking hard on those people. all those Fox anchors in that room where not prepared for that shitstorm. Larry Wilmore just said put some motherfucking respeck on my name
If that's what you call savage and going "fucking hard" then you need to get out more. HE WAS SO FUCKING TERRIBLE nobody even bothered being offended. Unfunny, classless and undignified!
they were expecting it, I'm not a fox news fan but the way the president and his supporters treat fox like some kkk organization is not acceptable, its all the time, whenever Obama gets judged he will give a speech and blame fox, I lean more to the left, but MSNBC is just as bad as fox its just the liberal equivalent, but nobody calls them out.
+Michael E. Ross I want to be respectful...some humor is dry and may take a moment (for some) to process and appreciate. Some humor is stinging and uncomfortable because of the truth. Then, there's this guy...rely on cliches or racial humor based on situation of truth. This type of humor requires a high intellect and specialized skill. Larry is out of his depth and therefore Not Funny.
+Kaust Shroff If it was funny, you wouldn't need to explain it. I understand the meaning of a roast, perhaps you should watch previous WHCD comedians for contrast, numbskull.
A black man was thought off my his mere color, not good enough to lead a football team, and now to live in your time, Mr President, when a black man can lead the entire free world . - Larry Wilmore!!
+Blake Biller I didn't think it was that funny. Don't get me wrong, I am a democrat and could care less about Ted Cruz (Zodiac) jokes -- even jokes directed against democrats because most of us liberals have a sense of humor -- but this was probably the lamest comedian I have seen in quite some years.
+Nicene325ad Yeah it wasn't that great, his style is too laid back to me. But that part still had me cracking up...even though I knew where he was going with it I still lol'd.
I am going to be serious. Larry Wilmore had a 8/10 performance. A lot of the criticisms were spot on but he has some misses too. But that audience, was legit 1/10. What's to be expected when you fill a room full of wealthy "live in a bubble" people and put an unrestricted black comedian in front of them. I'll admit some of Larry's jokes fell flat, but by and large this was pretty funny stuff and the audience wouldn't know a joke if it slapped them upside their smug uber-wealthy privileged faces.
+David Soll Well said...I thought most of Larry's jokes were funny..but like you said these uber-wealthy privileged people wouldn't know a joke if it slapped them upside their faces..but that's what happens when a comedian like Larry Wilmore hosts this thing with all of those richy-bitchy people..maybe next year they can get a stuffy white "comedian" that makes jokes the elite can comprehend...
+Chuck Steak Are you kidding? If any of them were in Wilmore's position, they'd say almost exactly the same thing and the jokes would still fall flat on the crowd. It's not even a racial thing. Wilmore spat truth and look at how NOBODY took responsibility for it. That's the problem with politics and journalism. Too many half truths and full lies.
IKR?! I kept waiting for the famous N bomb ppl kept talking about and as a black person, when it actually came, I almost startted crying. That was keeping 100 at its purest. That's what every black person has been saying in their heart. We are so proud of you Obsma!
TokyoGodfather, thank you so much for confirming what I thought POC would think about it. I am (mostly) white, so I could only consider it from my point of view. I'm glad I was correct in thinking what it would mean to those like you. *thumbs up*
+cambruoso Totally truthful. His comment that Wolf needs to ask a follow up question was dead on. His job in the debate seems to be to set up softball questions that let Clinton say what she had already planned to say. There was no questioning, and certainly no pressing for direct answers when deflection was offered.
as soon as he crack the joke, they get a big plan of his salty butthurt face omg xD larry made big comedy out of harsh truth, we laugh they cried ahahahah
Before you insult all black comedians you should know he's the writer or producer of the hit comedy BLACKISH on ABC. What's your claim to fame, knitted socks from your belly button lint?
+amandaapparel "White people" are just Africans who've lost their protective melanin. There is only one race of Africans, although large groups of us have been changed due to our environments. However, you are right in that the African's who lack melanin have been oppressive to the older Africans.
Benjamin Miora It was epic. The literal looks of how uncomfortable they were was... priceless. This wasn't as good as when Stephen Colbert did "truthiness" to Bush, but it was pretty excellent.
+John Snow Lmao you obviously don't know comedy. Couldn't watch the Hannibal speciall all the way through. Really wanted him to do good too. Larry was good in my opinion. Held nothing back.
+Dawna Bell thats what Im saying! He sure as hell did. Especially called barak his nigga! LOLOL...you cant have the first black president and NOT drop that in his last year. You just just cant lol
+Dawna Bell, you'll be glad to know not ALL of us old white folks are idiots. :-) I thought he was freaking hilarious! That crowd though... they missed like at least 80% of his jokes, and whined about another 10% of them. *rolls eyes*
That was on par or better than any comedy central roast I have ever seen! Larry Wilmore will forever have my respect for having the balls to pull that off and make those people squirm..
Larry was too smart for the crowd. Jimmey Kimmel 2012 was the only one who toned it down to the level of these guys so it came out amazing. I also liked Cecily last year.
They got the jokes, they just were not funny! The Zodiac Killer bit was stupid and repeating over and over only made it worse! I hate Ted Cruz, but it just wasn't funny! Obama was a better comedian than the so called comedian!
+Loki D The crowd wasn't laughing because he was roasting every single one of them. Half that audience is mainstream media and he was grilling them hard.
+J Potter Here we go with another empty post by J here who wants us to believe he (I'll bet) knows whats funny and what's not. Well, I know what's interesting and what's not, and what J's said so far just isn't interesting, enlightening, informative or engaging. Vomit somewhere else, please.
I gained so much respect for Larry Wilmore after watching this, to go into a room full of the most fragile and volatile egos in the entire country and crack jokes like this... blows me away. That guy has the heart of a lion and I really hope they don't destroy his career because of it.
+DowellForPASenate, you have to excuse jar jar and his/her kind... see, since we've begun to allow home-schools to teach to their own sadly lacking "standards," standards have fallen like a rock in the reading comprehension and critical thinking areas.
*****, sorry, but most "home-schools" are either for radical religious nuts who don't want their kids to learn about Evolution, the Big Bang Theory, or other important cornerstones of science, or they're for kids who can't deal with real school (due to mental problems, bullies, whatever) and are instead taught at home by parents that really don't do a good job at it.
Bold, Edgy, HILARIOUS, Real, Ruthless & Honest. Larry didn't have to read the room, the organizers who invited him should've done the history of HIS comedy. He wrote for In Living Color, they should've known. He READ that room like a library and those stick in the mud news folks couldn't stand it. Nobody may have laughed in that room but outside? We was ROLLING! Thank You Mr. Wilmore...you did IT for the culture my DUDE!
Read some negative reviews of his bit and I haven't found him particularly interesting before watching this but goddamn, he put a stick up every ones arse. I'm a fan now.
Classless and undignified! Something tells me that President Obama WOULD NEVER use such a low life and ignorant word nor would he teach it to his daughters. Slightly changing the prounounciation and the meaning of a word derived from degradation and hate isn't something to be proud of but be embarrassed by. The word is VILE, DISGUSTING AND IGNORANT and the fact that a non-black person feels this way should tell you something. That word contributes to part of the race problem in this country!
+KC Nwokoye That was the worst part of the entire speech. For him to rave about finally having a Black person in The White House and then to say that at the end...come on! This gives everyone the license to call him that now.
Woooowww! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 He said what the majority of people think of the establishment, the corporate media... THEY WERE NOT READY AND PREPARED TO BE DRAGGED THIS BAD ON TV 📺! 😂😂😂😭😭😭 Larry you made them uncomfortable but we enjoyed your ROAST! 😩😩
+Brian Emmett Agree. I have no idea what relevance actors have to an event like this...just an opportunity for those narcissists to rub noses with the powerful and pretend to be important, I guess.
I never thought I'd say this about Larry Wilmore but he almost had me crying of laughter from his Ted Cruz Zodiac Killer bit. This whole set was fucking amazing.
This is not a stand up comedy audience, remember that. This is people getting shit talked about them. Of course they won't laugh. DOESN'T MEAN ITS NOT FUNNY
+Nyax The thing is I agree with almost everything he said, but he delivered it so poorly and awkwardly. It may be good material, but it's terrible comedy.
Exactly this country has gone straight censorship. I don't know this was still the free world. I guess it's free when your will smith or all the other elitist in the room
+Dane Feet and nicolai i believed his awkward delivery was on purpose , it spelled out that he was not on this “in” crowd it created a lot of space from them . it seemed that it was bad because of the response , but i think he planned his talk to not get laughs , he even interrupted they with a quick come back without pausing that was planned . i did not like his “free world “ but was it said as sarcasm ?
Yo she laughs at everything tho lmao bc shes really thirsty to even be there...i remember her laughing her ass off sitting in the all white audience at the oscars when Chris Rock made fun of Jada Pinkett for speaking out about racism.
Atif Choudhury It doesn't really matter why she spoke out, in my opinion. A black woman speaking out for any reason is not worthy of mockery. Also, the fact that Priyanka Chopra felt the need to show up to an award show where the only reason she was invited in the first place was because most other, more famous people of color boycotted it and the academy needed POC to show off as props to broadcast that they weren't completely racist. But the fact that she laughed hysterically at a joke poking fun at a woman of color for voicing an opinion showed me how little she understands the racial politics in America more so than the stupid comments she has made about how there should be a "color blind world." I understand that Priyanka Chopra is an Indian who grew up in India and is not expected to understand how race works in America, but if she is going to work here and wants to be known here (and especially since she seems to want to represent Indian Americans), she should make an effort to understand our experiences - even if they don't reflect her own.
Atif Choudhury No - it isn't terrible at all. That's not what I'm saying at all. In fact, you should be proud. But Priyanka Chopra IS a very beautiful, very privileged Indian woman and I think it does matter HOW you get success. As far as I've seen, Priyanka Chopra's rise has less to do with actually changing the game for brown people and more to do with diversity as a marketing ploy (and to make white liberal Americans feel like they're on the right side of history). I can respect Priyanka Chopra's ambition (and her PR team), but when Indian Americans are afforded the same opportunities to make it in their own country as a beautiful bollywood star with millions of social media followers - that is when I'll celebrate. That being said, I just haven't been impressed at all with how she has handled the platform she has been given when it comes to racial politics. Especially compared to people like Aziz Ansari and Mindy Kaling.
