If you wanted to also add the lume fill paint that the number originally came with, do you need to make another template or you fill it by hand??

We take pride in restoring genuine and original dials for our clients. However, that particular problem that you're mentioning has been a large issue of the past and we've been hearing great things about eBay's new verification process!

Hi, there! Thank you for watching and for your concern. This is indeed how genuine watch restorations are with a watch's original dial. Our clients and brands have trusted our work for quite a long time. Some prefer to keep the rust and corrosion of the dial, however, there are those who prefer to completely refinish it to retain its value. It's all about the customer's preference! One simply cannot find another vintage dial in its original condition to "replace" it, so those who want to restore a watch dial go through this process. 😊

@kirkrichdial i understand all that, i just mean that it wpuld not be a truly restored, original piece. It would instead be named remanufactured or refinished or refurbished. Whereas a true restoration would try to enhance any remaining details, this is instead replacing the old detail with new identical versions of the way it should have looked without the damage and wear through its life. It is still a fantastic job, but i feel it is important to make the destinction as the price difference of a restored piece and a refurbished piece are quite different

Hi, there! Thank you so much for your interest. Our services start at around $225 USD + Shipping and additional fees depend on the amount of work that needs to be done. We recommend shipping your loose dial out of the watch to avoid a $75 disassembly/reassembly fee (just as it is in the photo). However, if you do need help doing so with other pieces, you can send in your watch as a whole and we can professionally do it for you when we receive it. Visit our website to get started on a US domestic order: krdial.com/ If you need to send out a dial to us internationally, please reach out to us through email at info@krdial.com Feel free to let us know if you have any questions. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

No, this isn't a dial restoration, but a dial recreation. If the original dial was shown at the beginning, then it was perfectly fine the way it was. Stripping it then recreating the original dial causes irreversible damage that's a nonsensical option. It's also not a laser engraved dial, but an image transfer from a plate/die that's been laser engraved--big difference. If it's for a client, then from a business perspective, I can see the _practicality_ of it, but that's only when the original dial is completely FUBAR. But, you shouldn't call it anything more than what it actually is--a recreated dial. That said, if you're going with the recreation route, then IMHO it would've been better to laser engrave the actual dial to give it more depth.

Hi, there! Thanks for watching our video and for your concerns. This is indeed a dial restoration as the original and genuine dial was used. One can't simply source out a vintage dial in pristine condition. This is similar to the process of watch movement restorations, where parts and even entire movements have to be replaced. This does not make it a watch 'recreation.' As for the terminology, the title states it as a laser-engraved dial due to the limited characters of the video title. It is indeed a laser-engraved dial template being used. We do use the template to stamp on the design using specific paint, which is part of the traditional art of dial restorations. Should you have any other questions or concerns about our dial refinishing and restoration process, please feel free to let us know. Have a wonderful day!

@@kirkrichdialThe analogy of a watch movement fails, as OEM parts are expected to replace the damaged components. Those parts aren't technically original to the watch itself, but it's practically 1:1 and in this case, exactly as the manufacturer would have shipped it. But it's more than simply being a perfect "copy"--it's about _who_ made the repairs and/or replacement parts, and what degree of liberties were taken by the restorer to add third party or his/her own external details. Think of it like this: an artist's oil painting on a brass plate medium gets irreparably damaged. You can remove the remaining oil paint, and use a computer to print the details onto the dial. However, it's only a recreation of the artist's oil painting i.e. nothing more than a _third party_ or aftermarket copy of the original. Using the original brass plate doesn't change the fact that the artwork isn't original. Or, let's say that Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa was damaged to the point that all paint was removed. Using the original poplar wood panel medium, an exact copy of his Mona Lisa was painted on using the most state of the art printer. That would not be considered as a restoration, as no original art even remains to be restored. Rather, it would be a recreation of da Vinci's artwork. Whether or not the original poplar wood panel was used would be irrelevant.

@@martinwilliams9098 It's a fair response. It's not a dig merely to dig at someone. If this is someone's job or craft, then it's important to be accurate, especially with something as fundamental as restoring vs. recreating.
