I remember Early on when the web was taking off there were no indexes or search engines but you could buy big fat printed copies of "The internet yellow pages" at various book stores.
I went through the Auburn,Cord Dusenberg museum in 2005or6. I was traveling to Michigan,my one and only trip up there. I loved that museum and wished I could have toured it with my dad. It really expanded my knowledge and appreciation of classic American cars. There have been so many companies and unbelievably fantastic designs. Cars are one of my passions. I don't own anything remarkable but take solace in knowing I would never be satisfied if hoarding them was my aim.
Speaking of Vietnam, I had a cousin that lives in California that served in the army there. I’m not sure what branch, but he was on a search and destroy team that were sent to various locations. Some apparently not legal, others in Vietnam. I had the honour of him showing me several of his scrapbooks that he had saved over the years which include letters that he had wrote to his mother. What was interesting was whenever he wrote a letter to his mother, everything was coming up roses. But he also wrote his brother with factual information suggesting that he would never come back home alive. Very interesting time for him I gather. It’s too bad that he didn’t write a book because he certainly had enough material that he could’ve.
