***** Ther's nothing wrong with treating yourself outside the gym. Planet Fitness enables people to make bad decisions on a daily basis, by offering them pizza and muffins, or whatever calorie dense foods they can throw at you.
I hope this fitness chain shuts down. What a total joke. They shame people Who are supposed Lunk heads, And sensationalize it, built their whole brand on it. That's why it will crumble eventually, hopefully 🙏. People who have never really lifted weights in their life, And were intimidated by lunkheads. A lot of it's made up . I've been in the industry my whole life and have never seen that side side that they see. A lot of it is delusional.
I'm starting a new gym with a "pansy alarm" Any time the weights stop clanking, and the screaming, grunting and the sounds of general torture goes quiet Richard Simmons fruity voice comes over a loudhailer shouting "Come on boys, let's pick it up"
Cogitatio023 we all need a gym like that. I remember squat days so horrifying that when I left the gym which was in a basement, I had to go up the stairs in 4 sets of 8 steps. I'd go up 8 steps and when my legs stopped shaking I'd go up 8 more. You just can't squat like that without screaming.
Im pretty sure this is faked. Ive been going to planet fitness in two different locations for 3 years at least 3 times a week. All the Lunk Alarm videos are faked. They only use the lunk alarm during closing to signify its closing time.
"..we're not a gym - we're Planet Fitness" that add slogan cracks me up every time I hear it, LOL!!!! If you want to get in shape, go to a gym, where people sweat, scream, and know the value of hard work ... those same people will give you free advice & support because they love working out. - 1992 USNBA National Bodybuilding Champion
VintagePowerSport Honestly,My planet fitness is mostly empty and pay 10 bucks a month real good deal only turn off is the squats machines and no squats racks.
i’m shocked Planet Fitness didn’t kick him out for wearing jeans! PF has some bullshit dress code, in order to not “intimidate” other people while you’re there.
Used to go at like 1-2am with my friend, we were almost always the only 2 people in there and the lady working there would ask us to stop doing certain things....wasn't like she really cared but I guess they trained her good. Examples: Said we can't have gallons of water, and barbell lifting had to be in a certain spot.
One of my favorite lunk alarm videos lol. That dumbell slam and flex with alarm still on is epic. Like transforming into the incredible hulk as the lunk alarm sounds
It's not automatic, it's employee-controlled, and ive never heard it pulled during operating hours unless someone is very dangerously clanging the weights on a weird machine, which can break the machine weights.
At my location we have never turned it on since we got a new GM. that was around 5-6 years ago. If someone is being rude to guests or staff we just warn them and then if they continue we will "ban" them from our specific location
because there's no way it's a safety hazard to have a blaring fucking alarm go off while people are trying to concentrate on lifting something heavy. i'd be calling OSHA in a heartbeat. this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
For anyone that doesn't know the lunk alarm is an actual thing that goes off when somebody drops a weight, slams weight, lifts loudly, or anything along those lines.
This man is on a whole different level, no one can come close to this man's work he put in at planet fitness. Now, he's off to to a gym that offers more of a challenge.
The best video i have ever seen, you should be comedian, seriously its first video i ever liked on youtube. I wish people like you had way bigger channels to earn at least money from the talent
*Imagine.* Somewhere in a parallel universe, rather than asserting his dominance to everyone in the room: this guy shatters his toes and makes a fool of himself on camera.
Seriously? 1. Dumbell dropped could get damaged. 2. Floor could get damaged. 3. Rack, wall, or mirror could get damaged. 3. Someone's foot could get very damaged.
First off to your 4 points of why not to drop dumbells 1. the dumbells are made of rubber, don't be stupid. 2. The floor is made of concrete with rubber padding over it, wtf are you going to damage? 3. The rack is made of metal and in front of the wall, how the fuck is it even going to get hit? The mirrors are also a good 2-3 feet in the air, dumbells aren't going to bounce that fucking high... 4. As you can see that guy chucked them at the ground and they went maybe a foot, as long as no one is within a foot of you when you drop them im pretty sure everyone will live another day and if it hits his own foot, his problem not yours correct? Not to mention been going to gyms since i was 14 (22 now) and never seen anyone get hurt that way... To your next point, maybe qBobertp is one of those "knuckleheads" you speak of, but atleast he isn't a pussy who's afraid to drop a couple heavy pieces of rubber. I'll bet if some guy was trying to rape your girlfriend you'd run off looking for the biggest guy you could find rather than doing something yourself too panzy...
soggy hashbrowns well, I can't think of a reason why someone should drop dumbells in the first place. Even if youre going to failure, you should always be able to control the weight. If youre trying to do 1 rep PRs with curls, then you should reconsider your source of information.
I’m a member of PF because it’s 20 a month with guest privileges and it’s walking distance and never busy… they have everything except real leg press and benches… other than that it’s great because it’s not crowded and the staff are mostly ex military. There’s no alarm installed there and the staff mocks there ever being one. I think in more conservative cities they’ve wised up. The only issue is the 60 pound dumbbell limit
Lol @ Tyler Thomason, I pay 20$/month (10$ if I would have paid the upfront costs but that was 2 years ago so doesn't matter) for Gold's Gym and they have 3 REAL squat racks, 6-8 benches and like 4-5 incline benches, excluding the small benches in the free weights area. That's right people, the bench area is it's OWN area.
My gold gym got bought out by Fitness Evolution. $10 a month so it attracts a lot of noobs that know nothing about gym etiquette. Forced me to move to $30 a month gym.
really? LMAO this gym gets funnier every day. I mean i dont like to work out in jeans but i think if someone wants to do it or maybe forgot his workout clothes then why not? :D
You know, I recently cancelled my membership there when I switched bank cards, but now that I think about it, this would have been a MUCH better way to cancel my membership.
We have a lot of older people that come in and they had to disable the lunk alarm in our town because a lady was so surprised she fell off the cardio bike.
exactly, and they make it so easy for someone to join right after new years, and then after a week of working out they never retire their membership because they think- oh, its only ten bucks a month, what if i want to get back into the gym?
IMO lifting is 30% physical and 70% mental. If I need to grunt and exhale as if I'm a turbo engine blow-off valve, then by God ima do it. Whatever it takes for my brain not to give out before my body does. And I'd continue to do it even while the alarm was sounding. Don't let anything get in the way of the GAINZ.
In martial arts, as well as basically any other gym its taught that one of the most important things to do is to exhale and breathe correctly, but here you are just supposed to frikin, idk not breathe.
Thank you. You are the first respectful and nice person I have endured during this whole "lets rip on and ruin the kids self-esteem" thing that everyone else is saying about me.
