Can't tell if it's deliberate but I love that the camera seems to get further and further away with each of these long talking-to-the-camera type segments. I just hope that it keeps escalating to the point where, in a few months time, there's just an entire section of the video which is just a static shot of a mountainous landscape with Tom's voice layered over it, and once he's finished saying what he has to say, we'd be able to just about make out a little pink dot off in the distance walking out of frame.

Tom, you've talked before about not liking Patreon, and taking your down, because you don't like the idea people are paying for nothing, and they weren't using the rewards you offered. Here's the reality though - they're not paying for nothing. They're paying for your content. The way the RU-vid space has changed, the kinds of high production value sketches you produce, and many of us love, just aren't sustainable off advertising revenue. People pay for Patreon because we know this is how we fund the continued creation of media we enjoy. The modern YT space is basically those with means funding content they love that those who don't have the means can then enjoy for free. There is zero shame in allowing people who enjoy your content, and want it to exist, to fund it. In short - re-open the Patreon. Your fans will fund you. Not as a charity, but as a crowd funding platform so we can continue to enjoy the content we want. I'd way rather give you $3 a month on Patreon than buy a $15 plush I don't want for the purpose of giving you $5.

hey man- just referring to what you said about finances and merch not selling and such- so a thing I've noticed as a 17y/o lol is that the Young People (at least the ones at my school/area) don't love wearing obvious merch anymore. like a few years ago my friends and i and everyone really would wear merch proudly and it'd be the most vibrant obvious merch ever but now both in my groups and in school generally i hardly ever see it- i know that personally for me it's because i hate the look of A Brand on me now? like I'd still buy eg. savannah brown's merch because the shirts are just nice shirts whereas with your merch or say dan and phil's it is clearly merch and it's not ugly by any means but it comes with the threat of being seen as 'cringey youtube fangirl' and looking like you're ten years old BUT i still want to support you- idk how all the merch stuff works obvs but if i could suggest anything it'd be to, as well as your current merch, have some more minimalist or just more subtle stuff? i know I'd buy it if that was a thing at least x

I hate to talk in terms of brands but ASDF is a brand, whilst ASDF 11 was not really my type of thing it doesn't mean it ruined the brand. Tom ASDF is one of the oldest video series of the internet and as a brand is more robust then you give it credit for.

I think it's really good that you're thinking about things like the declining state of your youtube presence. While the people watching DarkSquidge stuff probably definitely will stick with you, it's an inescapable threat to be on decline. I'm sorry about the stress of your situation, but it's always good to recognize problems so you can figure out how to best deal with them. I wish you the best, and have a good October.

I've followed you for far too long, I remember when you first released asdf, when you worked with ed on eddsworld, and other early RU-vid shenanigans from near a decade + ago. I've seen most all the content on the main channel, and picked up this one about a year or two? before you started doing last week. Tom, as someone who I grew up watching and also watched grow up themselves, I am happy to say I've enjoyed this whole ride! I think you respect honesty and from someone that has watched every daily vlog and loved that format since that finished it seems the fun group dynamic has changed. I sense alot of tension between you and Eddie which makes me uncomfortable to watch, Charlie seems to want to be in the videos less and less and she's brings so much to the table it's sad to see! I personally can see why the support is dropping and it's sad and it sucks
