I can relate. As someone with an Asian surname, substitutes and teachers I have for the first time always mess up on my last name after reading the oh so tame and pronounceable "Ryan". I wont let you guys know what it is but It starts with a Zh, has 12 characters, and ends with "liyev". Everyone pronounces the Zh part as "Zuh" and not "Zhuh", and they also pronounce the "liyev" part as "Lie-yev" and not "leave".

Im Korean and my last name is Choe and it is supposed to be pronounced as Choi bc it is supposed to be spelled that way. Well, My dad misspelled it when we were coming to America, so it stuck with us. I went to the same school for 6 years and they stilled pronounced it as Cho. I corrected them thousand of times. Nothing has changed.
